Spread them out about an inch apart between a couple of sheets of MOIST bog roll in a warm, dark place. Leave for 48 hours, trust me, nothing will happen before that. Protect them from all light, especially when transplanting them into pots. Dont touch the taproot, and you dont need to give them any light until they sprout. Seedlings can survive for two days without any light aswell.
Thanks, one more thing, I don't have any indoor lights, would it be just as good at leave them by an open window?
If you can, leave them on a SOUTH FACING windowsill for a week to harden off, then move them outdoors. Putting plants this late outdoors wont result in much bud, Im guessing somewhere between an ounce and 4 ounces dry. Even if they get 6 hours of natural sunlight per day thats better than having a 'standard' bulb on them for 18 hours a day as it produces the wrong light spectrum and yer plants will just stretch, stretch and stretch some more.
If you put them outside this time of year, they wont get too big, but still big enough that a nosy nextdoor neighbour will notice them. Some people hang berries from them to disguise them, and Ive seen pics of people doing this on OverGrow before it was shut down - and the result was phenomenal. It didnt look like cannabis at all!
Oh, and another thing - pests. If you can get some neem oil, get it. If you cant, heres a few good homemade pesticides you can try...
Buy some loose tobacco (I find the cheaper ones like Drum work the best for this). Put half an ounce in a litre of water overnight, and stick that in a warm dark place. The next day, take your vile smelling concoction and put it on a low boil/high simmer for 15 minutes. Let this cool, then spray plants twice a day - dawn and dusk - for the duration of the plants life. Stop doing this a week before harvest, and bugs should be minimal.
Another method that I prefer is mixing washing-up liquid (get NON BIOLOGICAL) with warm water. Use a 20:1 water/washingup liquid ratio, and spray plants at dawn and dusk for the duration of the plants life. After a week of doing this, you can spray two times a day twice a week, but ONLY if bugs arent a big problem anyway. I find that the washing up liquid pesticide works the best.
Whichever you choose, make sure to spray the tops AND bottom of every single leaf, and if you grow indoors, make sure you have adequate ventilation.
So I can't just leave them in A pot by the window? wouldnt it be the same thing? thanks again
Yep you can, but it depends on how much light comes through the window and for how long. If its south facing then go for it, because the sunlight will be directly on the plant, and thats what MJ loves. If you cant put it in direct light for at least 16 hours a day, then put her outside.
Anything else I can (hopefully) help ya with? :)
Yes infact if you don't mind lol, I can't put it south facing cause my room is north facing and I my mom won't let me put it in hers, outside can't be done because my parents wouldnt want an mj plant in plain view of everyone and theres no way i can convince them, any suggestions? thanks alot your A big help.
Ohya, I have other plants in my room that are growing okay with the light from the window, does this mean Cannabis will work too?
Well, try putting them inbetween other plants in the garden that will mask an MJ plant well. Just experiment and place the pot between different plants, then when she comes down ask her if she can see anything different in the garden. If she says no, then point out the MJ plant and see what she says. It will either make her change her mind, or she still wont allow it.
Cannabis is a lot different from other plants. If cacti grow well in your room, then its a safe bet that cannabis will aswell, as both plants love the light. You can always buy a few CFLs and stick it in the closet, as then you can determine how tall you want it to get before flowering.
Edit: Ive just read that your room is North facing... you can put it on the windowsill, but dont expect more than 7 grams per plant. A general rule of thumb is that if MJ doesnt get direct sunlight for at least 12 hours a day, it wont survive. Is there any land around you that you can put the plant on and do some guerilla growing? The only drawback with that is theft, or the landowner finds out and destroys/takes the plant for himself.
No, around here all areas are mostly inhabited so people would def find them, so you don't think my plant will survive on the windowsil, and maybe I could take it on the portch for A few hours well I watch it and read or sompthing lol.
Wait! CFLs! you genus I just looked that up and they look perfect how many will I need though and how much are they?
Sorry about all the questions, I just don't wanna put A bunch of time and money with nothing to show, if your gunna do sompthing might aswell do it right. Thanks again.
CFLs are dirt cheap. Im not sure on the prices because yer from America, but in the UK you can pick up a 40w CFL (actual output) for about 3 or 4 quid, which is like $2. Remember youll need to buy the fixtures aswell though, but again theyre only a couple of dollars each Im guessing.
As for the amount of lumens/watts, just get as many as your budget allows. Try and aim for at least 200 watts of light though, or 6,000 lumens BARE MINIMUM. If you want to grow more than one plant, aim for 10,000 lumens. Also if smell is going to be a problem, use these http://www.1000bulbs.com/product.php?product=9135 - and yes, they do work, The Image Reaper used a couple in one of his grows where he had either 2 or 3 plants and he said the smell dropped dramatically.
6,000 is how many cfls? i'm knew to growing and dunno what that means sorry.
Nevermind I found my answer, wow those lights you directed me to look nifty gunna try and find some!
6,000 lumens. Dont know if ya know or not, so here goes...
A lumen is the measurement of light that a bulb gives off.
Simple lol. You can have 5 CFLs to give off 6,000 lumens, or you can have 10. It depends on the wattage that they are. When buying them, its important to look for the ACTUAL WATTAGE/OUTPUT, not the output that an incandescent bulb of the same wattage will give off. In other words, look for the SMALLER number and go from there. For a successful CFL grow, you want to start with between 150 to 200 watts, then slowly increase that as you get nearer to the flowering stage. In the end you ideally want to have about 350 watts, if not more. A couple of advantages with CFLs is that they hardly give off any heat, are cheap and readily available, and they can be placed anywhere you want them around the plant. This means that even the small 'popcorn buds' at the bottom of the plant will be bigger and more compact than if growing with a HPS (High Pressure Sodium) bulb.
Dont let what Ive said put you off the CFL idea though - if you cant get more than 200 watts of light, then youll still do fine. Just make sure to flower a bit earlier than you should, and be prepared to possibly wait a little longer for her to mature and have a slight decrease in yield. BobBong has an excellent thread in the Indoor Growing section where he uses CFLs and uses heavy LST - thats basically tying the plant down so it resembles a small bush - so the light can get to the whole of the plant, and he had a very respectable harvest.
Lol and you made me write all that, you bastard! :pQuote:

Thanks for all your help and putting up with my question after question thing I had goin on there, I know though if I hadnt came to you I would have screwed it over.
Its OK, were here to help :)
Just remember, never EVER EVER take a plant outside to 'get some natural light and fresh air'. Im sure they enjoy it, but YOU wont enjoy battling the pests that you end up bringing in. Trust me, if you wanna see how much damage just one or two can do, look at my White Rhino growdiary.
Thanks fr the heads up man
