When is it time to cut it?
I am a first time grower, I started this plant in late March. I started flowering at the beginning of May. just wondering what the signs are for knowing when it is time to cut it down. I dont want to cut too soon but I also dont want to cut too late. if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
When is it time to cut it?
...ok iam even starting to get tired of this.....
When is it time to cut it?
There is this new feature...called SEARCH!!!!!
When is it time to cut it?
ok man, ill help ya out. You want to harvest when 50 to 75% of the pistals are amber colored
When is it time to cut it?
no offence hempsmoker but that is wrong
you want to harvest by looking at the trickholms 50% cloudy and 50% amber will produce a good high
the thing with looking at the hairs is some nute problems deficiensies
can cause the hair to turn difrent colours and you will be harvesting too early if this happens stick with the trickholms when determining harvesting
cheers all :)
When is it time to cut it?
Spot on buster!
Hempsmoker... It's better to say nothing rather than say the wrong thing.
When is it time to cut it?
lol @ Lip ...... the old pot calling the pan black arse !!!:D :D :D
When is it time to cut it?
also when you pick..determines the high......
When is it time to cut it?
Get a 30x magnifying glass, or if youve got a microscope lying around, thats even better. If you prefer a sativa high then harvest when the trichs are cloudy. If you want a mix of sativa and indica high then chop at a 50/50 mix. If you want a narcotic, knock-you-on-yer-arse high then harvest when the trichomes are all amber. Harvesting too late will cause the THC to break down in the trichomes, leading to an inferior high.
When is it time to cut it?
JUST CUT EM DOWN NOW,, PUT EM IN A PLAIN PAPER BAG,,, MAIL EM TO ME,,, AND I'LL TELL YA IF YA DID IT AT THE RIGHT TIME. OK?
When is it time to cut it?
It is a matter of taste...Harvesting by Pistil's is not an accurate way to determine maximum potency. If you don't have a scope and have to do it this way...by pistil's, then you look to see if the older pistil's are dying off faster than the new ones are replacing them...At this point harvest.
Now, as far as the correct way. Keep in mind that once a trichome turns amber it is dying/thc deteriorating; So, if you push it too far, You actually lose potency,
so here is where it becomes a matter of taste.
trichomes once they are present only show the potential to produce thc...so, we odn't want to harvest before we get thc, right? oK...Once trichomes start to get cloudy that is the presence of thc...Once the trichomes are almost all cloudy...that is your optimum potency...Now when this happens...some trich's will be amber. some may still be clear. If you go with a higher % of amber trich's before you harvest, you create the 'couchlock effect...lower % of amber and you have an 'UP' high.
Potency also depends on Strain...phenol-sativ/indi ratio...
and of course whether the genetics were any good. Hope this helps. peace
p.s. Before any of you chime in with the 'ol bagseed theory against good genetics...I call Bullshit forward...LOL I thought I just grew OK until I grew some NorhternLights#2
and that 'chit scared me man...later
