well it's odd
i've been having different dreams of me falling off cliffs
weird....
like i can receall 3 dreams ( i've probablly had more; but i can't remember them ) where i'm in a car, and i just go over the side of a cliff...
What's odd is that it's always in a mountain area, and theres always water below me...
When i fall, i wake up...
It's frightening
any comments? Should i be worried about these dreams?

Falling dreams also often reflect a sense of failure or inferiority in some circumstance or situation. It may be the fear of failing in your job/school, loss of status, or failure in love. You feel shameful and lack a sense of pride. You are unable to keep up with the status quo or that you don't measure up.
According to Freudian theory, dreams of falling indicate that you are contemplating giving into a sexual urge or impulse. You maybe lacking indiscretion.
Falling dreams typically occur during the first stage of sleep. Dreams in this stage are often accompanied by muscle spasms of the arms, legs, and the whole body. These sudden contractions, also known as myclonic jerks. Sometimes when we have these falling dreams, we feel our whole body jerk or twitch and we awaken from this jerk. It is thought that this jerking action is part of an arousal mechanism that allows the sleeper to awaken and become quickly alert and responsive to possible threats in the environment.
According to biblical interpretations, dreams about falling have a negative overtone and suggest that man is acting and walking according to his own way of thinking and not those of the Lord.
No, don't worry about it. Once over a cliff, you are no longer in control, of anything. It is revelation, that in many ways ~ you are not in control.Quote:

Water is a sign of the spirit of God, constantly threw scripture. Don't be affraid, you are in good company. All those that had visions of God, in whatever fashion - recorded,............ freaked out!!!
TAKE THE PLUNGE, BABY!!! once you are in, you'll realize that He's much better than you have deemed posible. Life is too. especially when you settle into the fact that He leads you, and the blessings you will enjoy, exceed your capacity to get there.
It's natural to fear. Don't sweat it.........May you enjoy them now.

What happens if you get a "naked on the school bus" while it "falls from a cliff" dream... that ones gonna leave a mark.

ive had many falling dreams, but only once did i actually crash. few months ago had a dream i was in a car with a few of my friends, and we drove off a huge cliff. hit the ground with a thud, and i woke up then with a feeling of schock throughout my body.
I heard somewhere to when you die in your dream, depending on how you actually died, people can have heart attacks in their sleep b/c the shock of their own death was too much for them. Like when your falling off a cliff, and you usuall wake up right before you hit, only in your dream you hit the bottom.
I don't even know if that's true, but it sure is interesting.
From everything I've ever read about dream interpretation, PureEvil certainly hit the nail on the head. You're feeling out of control somehow and like you may be at risk of something bad happening. If you've been stressed, that makes sense.
many people's souls leave thier body every night without them even realizing it.
falling dreams can be your soul reentering your body, hence you usually wake up at the bottom. your soul is attatched with a silver cord at the solar plexus. also I have died in my dreams plenty of times ..... still kickin :-)

Sleep apnea dreams suck ass, I've had quite a few where I'm literally holding my breath and suffocating, and I can tell in my dream, so I struggle to get out of the dream and back into the real world (by this point i'm well aware that I'm dreaming), and often wake up gasping for air. I understand what moeburns talking about, somewhat. Sleeping high in the Rockies, I found myself waking up to catch my breath, due to thin air, but still quite different than his.
My nightmares from a very young age,..... I would start to lift off the ground, flying, but I would start getting very anxious because I would never lift off fast enough, and this big monster, would always get me, and catch me by the ankles. In my experiences dream interperetation is a deeply personal thing. I dont agree that you can interperate your dreams according to someone elses formula in accordance with what they identify different symbolysms to mean.
Each aspect of your dream is relating to a personal feeling,thought, desire, memory etc and your associations with each character, scene, feeling are all very much different than those of any other person.
Your associations are a result of your experiences in life and your spiritual and mental personality.
In my beliefs and experience dreams are a deeply spiritual and personal state of learning from yourself and your guides. They are messages from yourself to yourself....from one level of awareness to another.
They are cryptical in nature so you must "decode" them to understand them.
Every dream is a sacred gift. You can interperate this gift best by yourself by first bringing as much of it into your consciousness as possible by writing them down complete with how they felt.
How many details you remember directly affects your success at getting the full message out of them.
Ask yourself questions and answer them. If there are blanks dont fill them in with maybes, leave them blank and they will fill in later.
Then for each important point of your dream write what feeling or memory you associate with each moment or event or word.What does each thing mean to you personally?
Then re-read it replacing each symbol with its connection and see if it makes more sense to you.
You will find that with practice you will be able to eventually awaken with the understanding without the process of conscious interperatation.
Once you realise the importance of recieving the message they will come clearer and frequently and guide you through your life with more confidance.
Hard to cram my views into a quick post but thats the short of it.
Dont rely on anything but your 'gut' to interperate your dreams or you will never get the underlying personal gift.

Dreams of falling, flying, fighting, underwater/holding breath, running but going no where, having sex, relatives no longer living, my past dog no longer living, unrecognizable beings with no faces that talk and have profound things to say, many things that have actually come true within minutes, days, weeks or months.
I dont think some dreams are our's exclusively and that from my experience I am picking up on tramatic events of someone else, groups of people etc.
or fears that these people felt at their death. I think that certain frequencies of light connect with others of that frequency who can hear it.
