What makes San Francisco such a valued location?
maybe the houses are more expensive and its a pricier place to live so the goverment raises minimun wage so the town mantains a rich sorta feel to it.... I dunno though ive never even had a job before lol
the city is very expensive i'm guessing
i love san fran
awesome place:rasta:
Not sure exactly what you mean by highly valued, but as far as valued from the drug/pot user standpoint, San Francisco was the birthplace of the counter-culture movement back in the 60's and has continued on that path ever since.
If you are referring to the literal "value", as in home prices, mainly due to being in California as most property there is higher priced and again also due to the history of San Fran.
bud, what is awesome about san fran?Quote:

I live in san Francisco and the reason we demand that people be paid more is because the average person deserves more.Quote:

I raised my kids here and have no regrets. I couldnt think of a better place to have raised them. The different cultures, the hundreds of different languages, the food, the schools, are IMO an experiences that all kids should encounter. SF is a beautiful city. The weather is perfect.
SF is a valued location because we are a beautiful city filled with people who genuinely gives hoot about our neighbors and our country.
We are a very tolerant bunch and we dont back down from authority. We believe that the people, not the government, are the authortiy, and that we the people have the last word.
We are a very compassionate city. I wouldnt live any place else....., except maybe Santa Cruz(70 miles down the coast).
You can feel like you are the only person like you in your home town and feel left out, and come to SF and find a thousand people just like you, and others who are ready and willing to embrace your being "different"

Word man, SF and SC are the places to be.
And we get paid more here because it costs more to survive here.
Yes, san fran is amazing. I've heard they have the most medical weed dispensaries, and generally incredible weed.
I went there last summer... it's such a beautiful place. :)

You really dont see many street level cannabis dealers anymore, which is ok with me.Quote:

Minimium wage is 8.50$ per hour in San Francisco. I know people that work at fa(s)t food places that make over 10.00$ per hour.Quote:

Housing in the San Francisco Bay area is unbelievably expensive compared to the rest of the country. I live in San Jose which is about 45 minutes from San Francisco. My wife and I bought a small home with an incredibly tiny yard(5' of grass between our house and the street) two years ago and for what we paid for it we could have bought a mansion somewhere else. Seriously! And I don't mean the hills of Arkansas, I mean somewhere like Portland, Chicago, etc.
As expensive as it is, I'll never leave. Although I live in the 10th biggest city in the U.S. I am surrounded by mountains. I have access to hundreds of miles of hiking/mnt biking trails within minutes of my house. I can go hiking all day and clubbing all night. The ocean is 45 minutes away and the BIG mountains are 4 hrs away. I could go skiing in the morning and surfing in the afternoon. Most of the year we have sunny skies and avg temps of about 75-80 degrees with no humidity. Plus, Northern California has THE BEST WEED in the country.

'Cause it's purty and diverse and tolerant and full of plenty of nice, left-leaning intelligent people who also happen to earn lots of money and can afford to live there. I adore the place!

It could have something to do with the standard of living in SF bro.

A large gay population, combined with other child-free people, creates a higher standard of living.
Just becareful. Ocean Beach is a very dangerous beach. Cold Water, Big Waves, Strong Rip-Tides, and some of the strongest underwater currents on earth.Quote:
