Upside down plants

Have u guys seen those upside down tomato planters or used them? I have one right now and plan on trying it with weed. Has anyone else here tried this? It should work... don't see why it wouldn't.

Give it a shot, I'd love to see what it does. But remember, tomatoes are heavy, naturally tomato plants would probably thrive hanging in this manner (they hang off the "vine" anyways). but MJ may not, they might just curve back upwards like a flower or a "weed" would. Anyways, try it and please post pics.

ive always wanted to grow a plant upside down... dont know why...

um, mabye it wont have to workas hard to grow, because of gravity and all, and it can get a bigger bud.

Yeah! Be sure to put ya light on the floor! Man....... I dunno bout all that! Weed it gonna turn away from the light.Mata's are gonna wanna lay on the ground.That's why we stake them up. If it work's? I'll be utterly AMAZED!

At the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art they have a bunch of sugar maple trees growing upside down suspended from a cable in planters 20 feet off the ground- it's like the coolest thing ever.

However, unless you want your plants upside down for artistic reasons you are just complicating things unneccessarily.

Tomato plants are going to curve toward the light too. It is the weight of the fruit that makes it keep growing downwards. So.... once the plant starts budding, the weight of the buds should do the same, right? Obviously not as much weight, but it will work i'm thinking/hoping. Why do this? I have had trouble with cutting worms and things of that nature. If the plant is off the ground, many of the complications i have had from planting in the ground will be no more. diseases, deer, getting stepped on by animals, ect.. If camoflauged well, the eye in the sky will have a less chance of seeing it also, compared to if it were planted in the ground right side up. Thanks for opinions.

Plants grow toward the light, period. Why plant upside down, except for the novelty? Sounds like a bunch of extra work.
