Pros And Cons of weed and the body?...

I want your opinion guys. I heard someone say that weed was a antipsycotic drug and another say and proven I believe that it will also cause schitzophrena<SP?. I would sometimes think people are talking shit to me but they really arent. I think this is called auditory hallucinations. I think this happened before I even smoked. I think I care what people think about me too much, i dont know :( . Lol, I am in high school though, so that does play a bigger factor in this discussion, with the shallowness and all.

Cannabis definatly doesnot cause any form of cancer in any living cell, and claims that is causes schitzophrenia or however its spelt havnt been proven, just claimed.

Really, cannabis causes no health efects at all, apart from short term memory loss.

Spart from one con, cannabis is all pros.

Which is why its so stupid keeping it ilegal.

What are your thoughts on cannibas psychosis then? I have a thread going on about that actually..

I don't think weed is an anti-psychotic. I also don't think it causes schizo tendencies or simulated schizo tendencies. Lots and lots of people toke but I've never heard of any stoner being diagnosed with a mental disorder directly related to weed. And don't worry about a little paranoia (thinking people are talking shit), it keeps you safe. After all, everyone is out to get you. :D

yeah man. you start treating people with no feelings at all, while at the same time, you're not aware an conscious of this shit happenin all around. It's not so great showing no feelings for ya mother and realize it jus when it comes the time she tells you. telling this by personal experience, oh, and yeah, it seems to me that people always judging me (an that raises my fury :D ) and regarding my short-term memory..uhmm.. have to admit that it faded away few years ago. I leave things round home and a second later, I do not remeber where the hell I've put em !!

The addiction is almost purely psychological with some physical characteristics such as sleep pattern, and REM supression.

Weed doesn't make people go crazy. People are crazy before they smoke weed.

Thats true...^ I stopped for 3+ months straight. And I wanted to smoke after I started to understand my body a little bit better, no joke..

Well, some cons...
(Depending on sativa or indica) it makes me sleepy.
It makes me hungry.
It makes me want to... er... I forget. Oh yeah, clouds!
AT FIRST, it makes you a little paranoid. That could also be put down to the fact that its illegal though - when you first started at 15 or whatever, didnt you keep looking around for cops and parents? When you get older, you adopt a 'I dont give a shit, I know the truth about it now and its my body, my life' attitude. Or maybe thats just me :confused:

Some pros...
(Depending on sativa or indica) it makes me energetic.
It doesnt give me the munch anymore... unless I start eating.
It makes me forget my troubles IF I WANT TO :)
If helps me look at my problems from a different point of view, thereby helping me sort them out more efficiently IF I WANT TO :)
It makes me interested in even the most mundane of tasks.
It helps me sleep at night (my sleep pattern is shite, probably sue to the fact that I seem to be suffering from insomnia lately).
It makes me more relaxed and chilled out, just taking things one step at a time.
Food tastes so much better. My smell, sight, sound and taste is enhanced tenfold when Ive been smoking some Herb.
Its a social thing to sit round a lava lamp and pass a spliff.
Its far safer, and cheaper, than alcohol. Also it leaves no nasty hangover in the morning, and you dont wake up with a sleazy whore next to you the next morning.

This is government/anti-weed-groups propoganda pure and simple. gynocomastia has been shown to occure no more in pot smokers than non-users (according to this site), and more convincingly to me, how many people have you seen who smoked weed and suddenly grew tits and a flop in the wrist?

the acne and anti-social behavior I don't buy either. "anti-social behavior", as classified by our good friends at DARE and other such groups, can be pot-smoking in itself. Even studies which show higher rates of genuine anti-social behavior in weed smokers show no indication as to weather already anti-social people were more drawn to weed or the weed caused the behavior. I know I, and many of my friends, went to weed because we weren't in the group of "popular" or "social" people who played the social game, we just acted as our selves. Smoking weed was something our type was much more drawn too, while my more popular and social-butterfly friends want nothing to do with pot.
The acne is most likely a result of the munchies. I had somewhat acne'd skin as a teenager because I ate tons and tons of junkfood and pop as a kid to deal with stress (never got fat though, I've always been really skinny). When I went over to weed I stopped pigging out on junk and used the herb to relieve my stress, and everything cleared up 100%.

I do belive in Pot-Induced-Psycosis, cuz I think I may have or had it. It could also be you just causing it in your head. But I do belive its real because Pot is a psychedelic drug, and some people may not "come back" from it to how they were before. Also thats bull shit bout that anti-social behavior thing, sure pot may make you become a deeper thinker, but common when your high you will talk as long as there is someone to listen, plus you always want people to be laughing while your stoned cuz then you laugh your ass off. Pot has made me more social, and have a better outlook on life, and just generally have a better time enjoying life. Althought the better outlook could also be because of the Extacy.

Also. There was a whistle-blower from the tobacco company Phillip Morris.

He was assigned to develop other additives. Later felt guilty about what he did and told a 60 minutes reporter. It was supposed to been kept secret.

Ordinary refined sugar when liquefied and added to the tobacco process is highly addictive when burned.

He drew out everything on a chaulk board as to how the molecule changes when burned and how it becomes addictive.

As far as I know they are still using the practice.

As much as I hate to say this, I am a schizophrenic. Not the crazy John Nash kind where I see people and think they are real, but I do have auditory and visionary hallucinations sometimes, among other things.

The reason why many scientists claim there may be a link between schizophrenia and cannabis is because schizophrenia doesn't show any signs until ages 17-22, essentially, the time when most people begin usage of cannabis.

I can assure you there is no exacerbation of my symptoms when I smoke cannabis. If anything, it helps, as I am much more relaxed and less wound up than when I am sober. I refuse to take any medication for it, as they creatve a myriad of unwanted side effects for me.
