hey i got 2 seedlings both about 2 inches tall and ive got some problems.
this is my 1st plant and as u can see the 2 smallest leaves in the middle have problems. the corner/tips of the leaves are brown/darkpurple. whats wrong with it and how can i fix it? JUST SO U GUYS KNOW, THESE 2 PICTURES ARE THE SAME PLANT! <3 <3
This is my 2nd plant and its been having some lil problems too. As you guys can see, there are 3 leaves that have problems. the tips/corner of the leaves are turning yellow/brown. what is causing this and how can i fix it? <3 JUST SO U GUYS KNOW, THESE 2 PICTURES BELOW ARE THE SAME PLANT!

This same thing is happening to my plants, I dont know what is going on, I fed mine some more Earth juice 2.1.1 and still no response. Hopefully in the morning they'll look better. If not Im going to flush her for a while, sorry I couldnt contribute but Ill be needing this answer too.

o the problem was bad drainage.

I usaully wait 2 weeks before nutes and that's with lowryder. Second set of pics looks like nute burn, the first set I am not sure. I would let soil dry out a bit and water without nutes, things should be ok. All in all they look good.

you should never add nutes to seedlihngs...period.
Once they have 4-5 alternating nodes, you can start with a 50% solution, prcdedding with full veg nutes the following week...I usually do not add any nutes for 2-3 weeks, depending on pace of seedling. then i veg for 2-4 weeks, depending on how bad I need weed...
drainage is key...another big tip: when I start seedlings, I spritz the medium they are in with water/w Superthrive 2-3 drops per liter squirt bottle...Spritz'em nice and wet, 2-3 times a day. hope this helps, lw
latewood.. do you continue with the superthrive spritz untill week 2 or 3 (then nutes?) or just ph bal h20?
Also.. I was a dumbass and nuted a seedling from about day one.. now its pretty pitiful and looks kind of like the one in the first post.. can I save it?? How?? I considered either taking it out of the hydro system and just watering it untill it gets better or planting it in dirt and giving it a chance to overcome my screwup on its own.
Also.. when you say no nutes till week 2-3 do you nute the rockwool prior to starting the seeds? I have some that are h20 only rockwooled that might be taking a turn on me..
Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is a hydroponic grow in a drip system under LOTS of CFL's.. will be HPS in bloom.

it looks similar.. sorry bout the bad pic.. all i have right now is a web cam.. anywho.. you can see the biggest two leafs are a little yellow at the ends.. I shut off the drip system to it yesterday and just water it with a spray bottle now (untill it gets better) and it is getting better quick. The other plants in the system are lovin the 1/2 strenght nutes.. they are going to town and raising ph of the tank like they never have before (use to just need adjustment every 3-4 days but now.. daily!). I dunno if its a good strain or what but these sick biddies are living thru all my dumbass mistakes.
these plants are way small for nutes.....just some root hormone is all you need for like two or three weeks (depending on plant) I know man i have burnt so many plants...you will be suprised at how little they need....trust a guy who has burnt more weed in a grow room than in a bong

for r'wool: I soak 1"x1" r'wool starters in ph'd water with superthrive, shake out 1x1 real good and add seed. In 2-4 days usually I get sprout...No nutes...spritz lightly ewith water...If the plant isn't turnig different colors...then No nutes until it get's 4-5 alternating stes of leaves(nodes).

inoxia- you know i read all these faqs and I always thought when ppl were saying "no nutes for the first 2-3 weeks" they were talking about soil. I actually only put one of the plants into nutes when it sprouted.. the others I held off till 3 nodes (now at 5 nodes) but the first one (pictured above) grew really slow and is barely starting its third set.. I stopped all nutes to it though and its getting better.
If you set up a big bowl or small tub and put water in bottom, with an airstone...fill with hydroton and set your netpot down in the whole thing(if roots are sticking out of netpot...be careful not to damage them...the bubbles will give you oxygen, and then bowl of hydroton will keep netpot moist...follow me?
or, make a small bubbler and set netpot in it... I use 2.5 gallon distilled water jugs, to veg alot of seedlings...I'll show...this will be some of my last piks. published here. so enjoy.
1. you can take your net pots and put them in a tub like this...just put bubble stones in bottom and fill with hydroton...they will root in a very healthy atmosphere.
2. here is my 10 dollar bubbler...
3. one with 3.75" netpots, the other with 5"...see the different stones...those 5" stones work great
4. my 1st row of clones...
5. I have 2 vegging for old time sake... as we speak. Just determined the big one is a fem.:dance: :dance: :dance:
by the way...these very inexpensive bubblers work great. I have done entire grows in these...
while I'm waiting on pix...It dawned on me...I got drip(misty blue clones), dwc-in 3 different type systems (blooming misty blue MUM in a 10 gallon tub-whitewidow clone in 5 gallon bucket-and these 2 C99xNL5, 3 different strains in soil...misty blue, papaya, and Ja'maka'Mon:D

latewood.. did you start cuttings (clones) in those or are they already rooted before they go in? Just curious how they get water.. and isnt it a pain in the ass to do ph tests on all those little bubblers?
You cannot add ferts to you soil or buy soil that already has it in, if you are putting seedlings in it or sprouting seedlings. They cannot handle it for the first few weeks. I didn't read all the replys, but this looks like a nutrient problem to me. You may find the chart helpful that I just posted titled "you need this"
