health class

ok so we're learning about drugs, smoking and drinking in health class, and today we say a video of what the inside of your body and what your lungs look like from smoking lotsa cigarettes, and it was fucked up, they had a heart like twice the size, and the throat had a whole buncha holes and shit in it.

I was wondering if marijuana fucks up your inside from smoking too much, cuz I was just thinking since i burn it like everyday. I dont smoke cigarettes, but I hear from people that support marijuana say weed is like 10 times better for you, but on this marijuana handout it says that a single marijuana cigarette contains as much tar and other irritants as 16 filtered tobacco cigarettes. And the handout also says that Marijuana smoke containsmore carcinogens than tobacco smoke, and can cause chronic cough (which i have) which can progress into chronic lung disease like bronchitis, emphysema, and lung cancer.

I am tripping. I dont know who to believe.

And it also talks alot more shit about marijuana.

I know they are trying to get you to stay away from it, but what if theyre right?

Don't believe them. If you read hard enough through these forums, you'll see that Marijuana smoke doesn't even affect the small bronchial passages in your lungs, where you get bronchitis, emphysema, et al.

The health teacher at out school is against everything EXCEPT MArijuana...he said if we are going to try a drug trhat should be the one. And that he "used" to smoke it.He aslo has medical marijuana articles up everywhere

it also says there have been many cases of young marijuana smokers developing cancer of the mouth and larynx (whatever that is)

dont beleive that propaganda, i would be scared if i heard that 2 if it werent for the fact that cigarettes are a lot worse for you then weed

there is no comparison, tobacco is sprayed with chemicals starting when its a sprout then its pumped full of chems and preservatives and then put in thick white paper with a fibre glass filter....

weed grows naturally from the ground and has NO unnatural shit in it....

damn i never thought of it that way, come to think of it they did say that there is rat poison and other fucked up chems in cigs, so im startin to feel better:thumbsup:

Other things, if you learned of Melatonin (and pot's enhancement of levels), you'd find out that this chemical (Melatonin), which thrives during the peak year's of our existence, is lowered by tobacco, as well as caffeine, cocaine, crack, etc.

There are benefits to smoking marijuana. Don't disregard those. Stop being so biased.

How can the smoke not affect the bronchiole passages? Any smoke is going to cause a degree of inflammation of the bronchiole passages. Smoke is not meant to be inhaled into the lungs.
Not trying to be negative, i'm just trying to get the point across that smoking anything is bad for you!

I never said smoking wasnt bad for you, just that pot is less harmful then cigs, which it is, quite a lot less actually.

thats a good point too, since its always talking about marijuana smoke causing these risks, eating it is completly harmless

They always show the WORST paitients they've ever seen and take pictures of they body parts to scare ppl, just like on the commercials for cleaners, you never see a bathtub with like an inch of shit on the bottom do you? NO they just exagerate (is that how u spell it?) it.

Smoking anything is bad for you - full stop. Weed deposits a shit load more tar than cigarettes and if you smoke it every day your lungs will turn black. People are trying to kid themselves that smoking isn't ' that bad ' because its something they enjoy and they are in denial about its negative side effects.

i wouldn't say weed is that bad for you to smoke even though it does have a lot of tar in it the thc helps to open up your lungs by relaxing your bronchials thats why it can help some people with lung problems
