Mold On Your Shit?

Yeah I never really smoke to much but lately Ive been hearing about the worry for mold growing on your stash. I mean will this happen on any buds or can it only happen right after you pick it? Will just having it in a zip lock baggie in a dark place be cool? I mean I just wanna know if the stuff I bought earlier this month will last me the whole summer, cause like I said I don't do it all to often and lord knows I wanna be worry free when Iam toking it.:smokin: Hit me back and let me know if iam worrying for nothing, I just wanna have a bombing ass summer and I already dropped a lot of money for the shit I got.

aright heres whats up. it will last you all summer IF you:
1. keep it in an airtight container (glass preferably).just get somethin like an old glass peanut butter container. anything thats glass with a screw on lid pretty much.
2. keep it in a dark place.
3. open it every couple days for 10 minutes to dry it out.

if you follow all these steps, your weed should last you well through summer.

If you really want to be worry free put it in the freezer. How much did you buy if you plan on smoking every once in a while this whole summer?

THC degrades in the freezer. Refrigerator would be better.

I'm just saying for as long as he wants to stash it there is no way that any mold is getting on that in the frig and yes I know it degrades. It makes it brital... but it still gets you high and like I was saying there is no way any mold is getting on that shit!

I only have like a quarter, I mean It takes me next to nothing to get pretty cheeched, So its all good when I dip into my stash. So I mean Iam just saying I should be fine to have it in a sealed jug or something.

The best thing is a mason jar in a dark place. You shouldn't need to worry about mold, though. Bayarea's advice is pretty good. Don't worry so much, have fun with it!

Also, you'll be able to tell if it is moldy. It'll have a lot of white dust and spores on it and it'll have a crappy smell. It smells nothing like weed, and looks disgusting, so you should always be able to tell. Still though it is smart to keep mold in mind when you're hitting a blunt with unknown origins. I've read that you can get lung infections and serious illnesses from smoking moldy bud.

AFAIK, mold only grows on the "legal buds" alternative-marijuana, marijuana. I've never heard of it growing on mary, and a lot of people keep stashs for a long time.

You will usually find moldy bud in "commercial" grade weed, aka weed that starts out in mexico and comes over the border in the hundreds of pounds. Usually this weed is broken up and cleaned thoroughly (moldy weed thrown out) before it gets to you. Surprisingly there has been some good quality commercial shit goin around here lately, and i havent found mold on it in years, however always look, that is the worste possible thing you could smoke is mold. Keep it in a cool dry place, do not put it in the fridge or freeze. Find a used pill bottle, camera film tube, glass sealed jar would be ideal of course!
