Minutemen Aim to Build Ariz. Border Fences

Plans call for the fence to be constructed using an Israeli design.

On the south side facing Mexico, a 6-foot deep trench will keep vehicles from crashing through the fencing. Behind that, coiled and razor-edged barbed wire will be placed in front of a 15-foot steel mesh fence angled outward at the top to make climbing more difficult. The second fence will be built on the other side of the road.

Video cameras will be mounted between the fences and monitored from home computers.

Other Minuteman groups have also undertaken fencing projects.

About 200 Minuteman volunteers began building a 6-foot barbed wire fence last month along a quarter-mile of rugged terrain about 50 miles east of San Diego. It connected to an existing 12-foot high government-built fence.

Our government will give them maps around the fense, or they will show how to dig underneith. Right now the boarder patrol are giving away the location of all the minutemen to mexico's government. YOu think a fense will actually work. HA!!

good I hope everyone that wants a fence goes down there and helps them build that thing... I really do... Psycho, you need to go... you love the wall idea so much, why aren't you going to build it?? Everyone who wants a stupid wall across our border needs to be the ones to build it... I can't wait till they get about ten miles into it and realize that it sucks and maybe it's not worth it...

but hell they sat in the middle of nowhere to stop 1 out of ever 50,000 people that got in... I'm sure they pat themselves on the back for that... I just wish they'd read something why they are out there so they don't contiue to look and act like complete idiots...

agreed... we got into it pretty nicely about a wall... you seperated being a Mod and a view... your views I still believe could/should be different, but you are doing a good job with the filtering of posts...

but still a wall, a huge wall?? why... what are the positives of your wall... cause I can just think of the negatives.

by the way, isn't it great to see congress addressing immagration still... I am sure glad that it's being debated in congress... oh, wait it isn't... it's health insurance and more scams to get big businesses more money... the whole reason mexicans are here in the first place...

instead of building a wall, why not stop the need from them coming here... they are only coming this was because of the money, because Big Businesses pay them to... stop that and they will stop, not a wall... cause lord knows congress will just let Halliburtin build that thing.

That's why congress has a lower opinion poll than Bush. 295,000,000 people in the U.S. and this is our choices....that's sad.

That's the one the minutemen put up. There are proposals for, I believe, 700 miles of fence to be installed. This "huge wall" was a past "discussion" (LOL) that me and Gumby were having. Hey Gumby, would "discussion" be proper terminology???lol... It's all good!:thumbsup:

I like disscussion ... with a few choice words... but now that has mainly passed, all I was really pissed about and couldn't understand was your view that the money would come from somewhere else... I'm all for getting them out and building a solid border, but perhaps I should have said why not tey to make it much like Cananda. Create a good relationship with the country and not expext 2 million of them to want to come across but more like thousands... I mean there is a bigger wall now on the Mexican border than the one up north, but it's eaiser to get in from the south... It's because we have a good relationship with Canada (bush has bought Harper... but that's antoher debate)... but they are still a prospering nation with great freedoms... why not try to get meixco to that status instead of blocking it off..

my only point for you was instead of spending the money on a wall spend it on a better place... but Instead of spending the money, I have thought of a different plan.

instead of fining the businesses that employee illegals, we should make them move to mexico and run their businesses there... if they want mexican labor, move to mexico... I'm sick of people blamming it on the people who want to find work... punish the ones who are hiring them and shut down their businesses and tell them to move to mexico...

that way mexico has jobs... people get paid to work in mexico... and the fucking pricks that are getting rich off them can live thier rich fullfilled lives in mexico...

WHAB and I were good friends on overgrow...... miss that guy he was here in denver and we were going to the Imax together to see the mars pic and POOOF OG gone.....

THe wall would be nice, but it needs to start with the ARMED NGs not unarmed.... and then punish the employers....

i would go down and help, build said wall, but i dont see it happening atleast till after 08
