Hey guys, this weekend was my first time trying pot and I had a couple questions:
1. I got sick and threw up a LOT. I was wondering what might have caused this?
2. One of my friends had a pretty bad panic attack, but this wasn't his first time smoking. What caused this/is this normal?
Just hoping to find out what went wrong so I can fix it next time. Thanks guys.

Hey, Tastemaker. Congrats, I think, on your first time.
Let me ask you a couple of Qs. You said you threw up. Were you by any chance drinking while y'all were toking? Or perhaps coughing a lot since this was your first time? Either of those things could easily explain getting sick at your stomach.
And your friend who had the panic attack . . . is he prone to those anyway? Could his imagination perhaps have gotten the better of him about what he was smoking? Panic happens a good bit, especially when emotions are running high and there's the excitement of a new and mysterious substance (even if he's not a totally new smoker, I get the feeling you're both fairly young).
Make sure you're smoking unadulterated weed from a trustworthy source and try and chill out. I'm sure these things won't continue to happen. And if they do, well, you'll just have to do without. . .
Hey dude. Well I'd say vomitting is just your body's way of rejecting the foreign substance. Lots of people throw up the first time they get drunk (among other times), a guy I knew would throw up everytime he did shrooms but then he was good to go. Another guy I knew used to throw up from weed occasionly and he probably threw up his first time. I'd be surprised if you threw up the next time. Seems normal to me just not that common.
Like any drug, weed puts you in a different head space so sometimes you panic or you get paranoid. Some people are more prone to panicing, usually people that haven't been smoking that long or they're just the type of person to panic. It effects people different. But all in all weed's a pretty safe drug. Smoke on dude.
Sometimes i get naseaus. Just take smaller hits next time.
to much to fast.....paranoia is not uncommon for some smokers especially if you over do it...some of the stronger strains of weed can be a bit much on inexperienced smokers... the point of smoking ..at least for me is to take the edge off or to relax...not to get boldly shit faced of of my skull ...next time try just taking 1 or 2 hits and wait a while and see how you feel ...if this does not work and you getthe same negative results than maybe this just isnt something you should be doin,,,good luck and be carfulQuote:

are you guys all new to smoking? sounds like you need time to get comfortable with blazin.. it's not you as much as it's your body, but give it some time and i predict you stop throwing up and start getting mighty hungry and your friend will be calm and laughy very easily.
its what happened to my first original group of pot smoking friends... most of it is pretty much because you guys were all nervous and anxious i bet. were you nervous beforehand?
Your friend is a dumbass who's pushing his limits way too early.
Weed shouldnt make you puke. People do have panic attacks, but i dunno why, i never do.
Take smaller hits... then you shuoldnt be sick. And try and not cough too much,.
Vommiting: You mentioned no other drugs, but did you have a ciggarette shortly before or shortly after smoking? Did you smoke a blunt? I know herb and tobacco don't mix well in my stomach and I have thrown up several times having smoked a cigarillio or chewed tobacco shortly after smoking.
Panic Attacks: Does your friend smoke constantly or did they take a break before smoking this most recent time. Anytime I smoke after taking a break, I'm always paranoid for the first 10 minutes and then it subsides.

yes it will, in high doses it can make lots of people sick. I've seen countless people puke or freak out or pass out because they just smoked way way too much. Your body just makes you vomit because you've put entirely too much of the chemical into your body and it wants to reject it quickly.Quote:

Hey and welcome to the cannabis culture. We are glad to have you and I am sorry about how your first experience turned out. Puking has happened to a few people I know when they where toking. Usually you puke when you have some really bad weed and you smoke a lot of it or it is your first time and your body is showing its way of rejecting the THC. Your friend needs to take it slow though, two panic attacks on back to back days is not good. I can't think of a way that cannabis can give you panic attacks unless it was laced (but you said it wasnt so that rules that out) or he just had way too much. I hope you continue to toke up and enjoy the sweet erb that so few people really know the truth about.

yeah man depending on the amount of people smoke only a bowl or two then sit and chat, or whatever you do, and if you feel you need more after twenty minutes then go ahead..because i know a lot of pot just creeps up hardcore on you after ten or so minutes

If you don't smoke at all and you smoke for the first time, even weed, you WILL get sick and probably throw up.
Nothing to worry about just remember that no matter how much you smoke weed you will never die from it, unless you're high and you think you're superman and you jump off a tall building.
Unless you're allergic you shouldn't keep coughing whenever you smoke, but maybe its the method thats fucking you up. Did you use a pipe, bong, waterpipe, joint, blunt? Smoking differently has different highs and they hit your lungs at different strengths, so changing the way you smoke could help.
Just take smaller hits and get used to the taste, smoke, etc. If you start to feel anxiety/panic attack or whatever, just keep telling yourself that nothing can go wrong, go with the flow and enjoy the high.

I became nauseated my first time smoking, and I got paranoid my second time. Third time onwards.. and it's all been good. Occasionally paranoia kicks in for me but only in high doses, and it's not near as bad as the first time. Hope this helps.

Panic attacks happen, people's minds react in different ways. Other things can take affect on the experience, the two most significant being the person's mindset (Your mood, how you feel, what you're thinking at the moment, recent relationship problems, etc, and the setting (where you're at). Other things can affect it as well, such as other drugs being used with it.

i'm a fairly experienced smoker nd once and a while i still get paranoid when i smoke too much depending on how stressful the setting is or becomes i tend to get paranoid but rarely so it doesnt mean it was laced. nd i have seen a friend throw up from eating too much than smoking right after.
also its possible that u were accidently swallowing a little smoke, if your not used to inhaling.

I have to say, ive been smoking for a year and a half and I took a waterfall hit (two normal bowls worth in one lungfull) and I nearly puked.
