CO2 /Temps/Humidity Question!!!

Small Grow Room Split Veg/Flower (currently vegging in Flower side to start perpetual grow). BTW, CO2 is the bomb... clones have taken off and doubled in size in 4 days, and just keep growing!!!

Situation:

I'm running co2 off a Telair 8001 in veg side that is demanding a boost every 6 minutes, drawdown is about 1-1.5 ppm / second between 1600 to 1400 ppm. So I end up getting a demand off the Telair for CO2 to bring it back up. Seems dialed in. BUT temps are staying at about 78-79 with humidity at 60%. Room is sealed as best as possible, but obviously still need openings for vent/fan. I have a fan moving plenty of air around the room (size 6x6x7)

Veg side is being aired with fan and is lower, so not so worried about that, will work on it later.

NOW....

Should I add draw on exhaust to increase airflow to bring down humidity? Working on dehumidier, but that may not happen. By adding draw on exhaust without temps going up high enough to kick on the purge of the room this may solve my problem, but will draw even more CO2.... is this what I want?

What is the rate of CO2 demand usually? and is it normal to see the CO2 go down at about 1-1.5 ppm per second

well in veg humidity is fine you don't need to bring it down until the end of the flower cycle.

You don't bring in fresh air from the outside and run an exhause if you are using co². I may have read it wrong but it sounded like that is what you were doing. The idea if enhanced CO² it to reach X level and hold it there for hours. Exhausting the air in the room only once every 3-4 hours then starting all over again. A sealed room uses AC to cool the room down. The fan running is fine to more the gas around.

You are not using the exhaust while you are using CO² at the same time are you?

The room is split in 2, one side Flower (using for Veg now till I get the perpetual thing going) the other side is draped off with plastic/velcro on sides to keep it separate (the real veg side) 2 seperate sides, 2 seperate air flows, just one divided room.

No what I have is home built controller that I just finished (and promissed to get the schematics out to the rest of the members... with kids, wife, job, and bullshit gets tough)

The controller will not allow CO2 to run if the fan kicks on with the lights on or when the lights shut off when I go to flower. Very well designed controller I have to admit, took some trial and error to get it designed right.

Anyways, The controller is keeping the CO2 at 1500 average, 24/7 in veg. Fan to move the air around the room, thermostat set at 83 (mechanical style so it's a guess) which hasn't kicked on yet so the 400 MH hasn't warmed up the room enough yet.
I haven't purged the room on it's own. Will be in veg for about another 2-3 weeks, want the tomato plants nice and full before putting them in flower.

But every 6 minutes the CO2 kicks on for about 20 seconds and raises the ppm to 1600 or so, then slowly drops to 1400 over 6 minutes before the cycle starts over. The room is about as air tight as I can get it, but could do more to seal it, I do have a slight draft (ever so slightly) entering in from the intake fan at the bottom of the room.

So, does that sound about right?

That sounds about right. It's either the plants using up the CO² or some leaking or a combo of the two. You mighty be happier with 1800 ppm then refill at 1500-ppm. Try to hold it for 6 hours then exchange the air in the room. It should only take a few min. Then start the CO² up again until the lights go off then exhaust the air one last time for the day.

Thanks for the reply Zandor... I was thinking that I have some leaking going on... I watched to CO2 disipate using the CO2 view software. It looks too much like a slow drop, after the high spot on the graph.... and then it disapates a bit more quickly as it gets closer to the hysterisis point...

I will push up the value on the 8001 to 1750, which will give me an average of 1800 ppm, after I get the rise to 1900 before the sensor sees the amount of gas in the room. Nice little toy for the 40 bucks I was able to get it at. I'm getting about 3-4 weeks for veg out of 20lbs of co2 for 12 plants... sound right? Then looks like another 20lbs for flowering. at about 20 bucks a shot... it seems worth it with the growth I'm seeing. comment?

If anyone's interested in it... I can give you the link to it... hint: if you go to www.telaire.com, and see the link to the update for version4 of UIP8000... when you go to that link... think about the link and what it says.... replace the UIP8000 with co2view... BANG!!! the CO2View download page comes up!

Now you can watch your Telaire controller (and calabrate it from this program) and save the 50 something bucks they want for it. It's a cheasy little Visual Basic Application... but it works, and you can also save a log or dump one!

CO2 Optimal Temp is 85 so I would Higher the temp as far as the humidity for $179.00 go to the Depot and pick up a 45 Pinter.... It will drop it down I have a sealed room... No way you want a Intake or Exhaust... Dehumid is the way to go to do all that work and then catch the mold would really SUCK... The other Option is grow a Strong High resistant strain against mold (CHURCH) I'm growing it out now!!!
