Have you seen the movie. I loved it. Everytime I go to Austin, I have huge fun and leave a different person. His next movie is A Scanner Darkly
Nooooooo. I've only found out about this NOW. Like a few minutes ago. I thought I would share my joy.
Look at me. I'm a 1uper.
Waking Life, very interesting and trippy as hell at the same time. :rasta:
WOW AWESOME!!!!!

That shit was captivating. Dude was spitten knowledge. That made it even trippier.
ha the dude might have been spittin' knowledge, but all I was paying attention to was that A N N O Y I N G ass voice of his. Could anybody else just not stand that? Jeeeshh, I don't even want to say what I was thinkin'...
It was decent on mute, also. Cool to watch, let's say that.
Come on Garden Knowm, the haiku thread is waiting for you.

Richard Linklater did this but was also known to many of us for Dazed and Confused and Slacker. Cool guy.

Heh, Waking Life, I have the dvd on my shelf right now. I've seen this movie like eighty times lol. I can't wait for A Scanner Darkly, the book is great, and Linklater is a great director.
Also, the visual technique used in this film (And later this year, A Scanner Darkly) is called rotoscoping, not many films use it in this style though.
That video was very trippy! but if I knew someone like that in real life, that would just not shut up, I think I'd Psychotically(yeah i know I can't spell) remeber to kick hiss ass! lol
Im stoned and that was absolutely hilarious. Thank you!!
i couldnt agree more, i had to exit it..Quote:

"It's always our decision who we are.
Creation seems to come out of imperfection.
It seems to come out of a striving and a frustration.
And this is where I think language came from.
I mean, it came from our desire to transcend our isolation...
and have some sort of connection with one another.
And it had to be easy when it was just simple survival.
Like, you know, "water." We came up with a sound for that.
Or, "Saber-toothed tiger right behind you." We came up with a sound for that.
But when it gets really interesting, I think,
is when we use that same system of symbols to communicate...
all the abstract and intangible things that we're experiencing.
What is, like, frustration? Or what is anger or love?
When I say "love,"
the sound comes out of my mouth...
and it hits the other person's ear,
travels through this Byzantine conduit in their brain,
you know, through their memories of love or lack of love,
and they register what I'm saying and say yes, they understand.
But how do I know they understand? Because words are inert.
They're just symbols. They're dead, you know?
And so much of our experience is intangible."
