People reading cheap gossip rags rather than actually researching the facts. But then if you were never really interested in smoking weed/ had a family member who smokes why would you? So my worthless opinion is that mainstream media is to blame.

Every one of you missed. People think cannabis is bad for them because governments have been telling them it is. Now the governments are being proved wrong and nobody wants to admit it.
you will die from smoke inhalation before dieing from an overdose. Weed is probably the most safe drug out. Safer than most legal drugs.
The govt will lose way too much money if it were ever to be legalized which is why it never will be. This isn't like tobacco which needs to be cultivated. Any moron can grow weed so who would pay for some low quality bud from the local gas station?

It wouldn't be low quality for exactly the reasons you state and not everyone would want to grow their own. A Canadian government study worked out that with their current population they would make £3.5 billion per year in tax. Do the maths.

You sure about that? We have low grade beer don't we? You don't think they can beer stronger? Weed would most definately not be high grade stuff.
3.5 billion is nothing. Look how much has been made off of it being Illegal. our entire judicial system is financed by drug arrests and convictions. That is the main reason our prisons are overcrowded.
Marijuana is Far less harmful than alcohol but I do not seeing it being legalized anytime soon.
we need a scientist stoner here...somebody who can make weed resilient enough to grow pretty much anywhere, and fertile enough to reproduce a millionfold. think dandelions...they're puffballs, but every one of those little floaty things is a seed! if weed were planted all over the country, in the wild, in the cities, people's gardens...they'd have no choice but to make it legal. they could spend tons of gov't money to cut/burn all of it down, but it'd keep growing back...and they'd get criticized for wasting money. they wouldn't be able to profit from it either, since it grows everywhere...
while I'm at it, why haven't we fixed grass? regular lawn-type grass, I mean. make it so it never grows more than two inches high, and you'd never need to mow your lawn again! I can't possibly be the only person to have thought of this. lets put genetic engineering to good use, people!
it bad because it is is the outlook on most thing reacently(like 2day when i got on the bus to go home)myself and a freind of mine where argueing about who should vbe president,he beleaves bush and im all for neither but since it has 2 bo 1 or the other id have to choose kerry the "lesser of two evils" and my freind brought up the whole swift boat issue i tried to xplain to him that wether or not he earned his metals or not he was still there and trust me i have an uncle who served in veietnam on a swift boat and if u wjent down the river kerry was shot on at u where under almost constant fire now personaly i dont give a shit what someone did 33 years ago(when was it '71?) but my freind who watches fox news's bill o'reily thinks it does,when i asked him why he replied "because that is what O'reily said" this is just one example of how bad ammericas children are brought up....

i think they would have diff kinds of gov. weed...i mean..we have beer, then liquer...30 proof 40 proof, even 100 proof, so i think theyd have gov low grade, medium grade, high grade, and hash. choose your potency based on your wants just like alcahol...wanna smoke a lil and not get fucked up buy some low grade, just liek drinkin a few beers, wanna get drunk, smoke the hash or high grade, which would be like 100 proof liquor, or everclear...yeah

Because if the government admits mit makes mistakes, or implys it.

heres how i see it . alot of people who smoke bud smoke cigaretss and they also eat alot of snack foods. So if it were legalized the cigaret sales would go up as well as hostess and other snack food products. not to mention the tax from bud and the medicinal uses , food uses, and all that other crap hemp can do for us like paper and shit.

good point, well if u think about it cigs and beer could actually be a gate way drug to pot and then pot leads to more. I blame society for openly accepting alcohol and tobacco as "safe" or at least safer than weed. when infact its completely the opposite. they just know that kids watch tv so they brainwash them with lies about how weed is bad when on the other hand the beer commercials run all the time and try to induce viewers with there half naked women and whatnot. when if the kids actually did research and found out the facts then they'd know the truth.
Then they try these scare tactic commercials about that stoner who ran over that little girl on the bike when he was stoned thats such bullshit any1 knows that when u drive stoned u concentrate even more that sober. and the one where that kid died in a car accident and they said 1 in 3 people are killed in car accidents are due to marijuana. 1st of all its in your system for 30 days that doesnt mean he was stoned when he was driving and the other 2/3 people killed in car accidents are because of alcohol!
I hate these right wing poloticians always sayin "marijuana is a very dangerous drug and leads to violent crimes" thats such bullshit. every1 knows a pothead doesnt want to hurt any1 he jus wants to chill on his couch watch the bias media on his tv and eat some munchies.
acctualy imotep(sp? didnt feel like looking) pot is a gatway drug only because it is illeagal,you see when two people love eachother....o oops,i meant when people smoke pot and have a good time but also see that it really doesnt hurt them to the extint they've been told they wonder why it's illeagal,leading them to wonder why the other drugs are illeagal aswell and promts them to try other more hazzerdouse(lmao sp?) drugs and in some cases(coke,pills,crack,opium and a few others) become addicts creating the illusion that pot promted them to try other drugs while in acctuality it is the slander and criminalization of marijauna that opens the way to other often more powerfull drugs. now dont get me wrong but pot was my first drug but after a while of experimentation i realized that thc is the only drug for me =) that doesnt meant i wont snort a loritab or take a few shrooms but the majority of the time u can find me in the kitchen looking for munchies
