To all the closet smokers...

My friends. Be proud of who you are. Smoking weed, despite all of the negativity created by propaganda, is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. The people who are close to you, who you feel may think negatively of you for it, could be a little more accepting if you give them a well thought out argument to the positive aspects of marijuana.(That's how it always worked for me.) I realize that some of you are younger, and live with parents. Please, if you are in danger of being kicked out or anything like that, keep it secret until you move out. Anyways... if the people close to you are so close-minded, screw 'em!

keep in the closet unless to close friends even then shit gets spread. Its a hell of a lot less trouble if nobody knows. If you like smoking weed every day don't tell anyone. You have to realize some people are just dicks about it.(Knock their teeth out)

your lucky. dont assume other people can talk so openly about it. Ive tried to explain the harmlessness of marijuana to alot of my classmates, and all its done is gotten me the label of pothead. And since im in AP classes, im pretty much alienated.

I hate being a closet smoker. Every time i try to tell a non beliver about the benifits of pot,they just make a pugly (pug ugly) face and say "are you kidding?" Put the cancer stick down and imbrace the bud!:rasta:

I don't explicitly tell everybody I smoke pot (though it's more than obvious, from the way I behave, dress, smell lol etc.), but if they ask I do not deny it. Works for me.

I dont deny either, instead i say yeah sure i smoke pot. is there any problem with it?

Never deny you smoke weed, it will just back fire eventualy, especialy with parents I think. I admited I smoked weed to my parents when I was living with them, they didnt let me smoke inside but they let me smoke outside the house, it may be different for some of you but if you parnets ask try to admit it because in most cases your parents will be proud of you for telling the truth.

According to a friend weed is 'gay' and I should look to pack it in.

i thought this thread was gonna be about smoking in the closet, and i hate it when people use the word gay as something negative, as if everything has a sexual preference

I'm not a closet smoker no more, caught this weekend. I'm not in much trouble, but they're going to be checkin' me to see if I'm high when I get home all the time and stuff. I told 'em I'd take a break till summer atleast so I'm not worried. They know they can't stop me, they just don't wan't to condone it. And they don't wan't it in the house so it really sucks, I burried my box of "paraphinila" today (I'mma get it later) and flushed 2 roaches because since they were a lot cooler than most parents (friend got sent to fucking rehab) so I don't wan't to decieve them about it.

Hmm, I'm startin' to think I should just quit till I move out in another 2 years. Probably with the occasional smoke here and there though. But it will be too much bullshit to have to keep all my stuff outside, and with them checking me when I come home. Really sucks though since I never have anything to do, and now thats 1 less thing for me to look forward to, smoking. My internets been screwy lately too so right now all I have is TV basically. I can go out and do stuff, but theres nothing to do around here.

I don't deny smoking, but I also don't go around saying I do. It was a pretty well kept secret until, well, 420 actually.
I was going to smoke with a fellow stoner as well as another guy which would have been his first time (never did then, actually). Of course, he thought telling everyone that he was going to smoke would make him seem so cool, so I think he's told most of his friends now--even one kid who's dad is a local cop. He also mentioned me to a few people, including one ignorant douche bag.
I used to be friends with him, but he's got some grudge with me I think (we're both drummers, and--not to sound cocky--but I'm better than him and he's jealous of this because I actually started after him). He now tries to put me down anyway he can. Example: I forget to hand in an asignment. Next thing, he's telling the whole fucking school, "Hey, eight didn't hand in the history project!" I already know he's now already told some people I smoke marijuana. I guess I'll just wait to see what happens. There are so many ignorant people in my school that will think lowly of me if they'd find out I smoke, and I don't want to have to stick up for myself trying to say it's good, because that'll only let more people know I smoke and I really do want it to be secret asides from my close friends. Not because I'm ashamed, just that as I said, there are so many ignorant people who will turn their shoulder on me, and I hate having people dislike/disaprove of me when they don't really know me.


Yea, sorry for all that,... I'm fucking bored and tired of being sober, and when bored I tend to type a lot.

Soooo... Why would you subject yourself to criminal prosecution and social alienation just to "stand up" on this issue?

The thing about smoking weed is first and foremost, you must be honest with yourself and admit that smoking weed is a vice. You don't have to be ashamed of it, but you certainly shouldn't think that it's fine for you to wear your heart on your sleeve and make it an issue when it is not. All you'll end up doing is ensuring all your friends are potheads and you'll have a hard time finding a decent job.

Think of it like alcohol: You certainly wouldn't want to be staggering down a street and telling everyone you meet that you drink, would you? Of course not, because alcohol is a vice and people would not want to associate with you because you are so preoccupied with engaging in vice and not doing something constructive. The exact same thing with marijuana.

So, keep your mouth shut, treat weed like a vice and keep it behind closed doors.

I'm terribly sorry if I offended you Krusty... Actually, I'm not sorry, in ifact, I don't care. You are right though, marijuana is a vice. Although it is not nearly as damaging to your health/judgement as alcohol. The thing is, alcohol is soooo much worse. So why is it, that pot remains illegal, while we see alcohol advertisements several times a day. I feel it is beacuse of the taboo in society about being a stoner. Well sir, I feel the only way to change the world is to stand up for what you believe in. You sure as hell don't do it by scampering in to the closet every time you want to cop a buzz. And I'm not saying you should wear a shirt telling everyone you smoke. Be responsible about it. People don't just assume that I'm a stoner. When they find out, usually they are shocked when I am not the blithering idiot stereotype of a pot-head. That gets them to think "hmmmm, marijuana might not be that bad." and changing people's minds is the first step.

I wish it were that easy, Krusty. Unfortunately, some people (like myself) have too much at stake to be proclaiming our love of weed, and our pride in smoking it. Hopefully, someday, the world will be a much weed=friendlier place. Until then, I'm staying in the closet. :smokin:
