CLEANING BONG

ok, my friend is selling his bong an he said if i clean it for him hed pay me a couple bux. well i usualy use jus soap an water an scrubb all tha resin out wit a toothrush or use bleach. but this one is acrylic an a double bubble so tha tooth brush wont reach where most the resin is in the bubble an its like caked on there. i wont use boiling water cause i have cracked a couple of my glass bongs doing this an this one isnt mine to take that chance. i also dont want to use bleach powder like comet or ajax cause i cant scrubb it. ive taken off tha bottom cap an swirled warm water in it an tried to soften up tha resin, didnt work, an i already tried letting warm soapy water sit in it to soften it up, doesnt help. im jus wondering what else i can try, im not used to cleaning out acrylic bongs so im afraid of it warping or changing color or something.

does anyone know how to clean these lil shits??? i jus cant seem to get tha job done this time an i need ur help

i know you probably dont want to buy something to clean it beacause whats the point of getting paid then. But you could try formula 420.

This is only a wild, drunk idea but would putting the bong in the freezer for a while and then trying to chip off the frozen resin be an idea :confused:

formula 420 works great and also i have seen people just soak a bong in regular dish soap and soak for two days, although that night flavor the ceramic, i'm not sure i have only ever cleaned glass. i have ceramic bong right now and i really don't know how i will clean it, damn so i guess i need to know too ....lol

i read somewhere that rubbing alcohol and salt will strip oil off bongs..

use rubbing alcohol and salt, the alcohol eats at the resin and the salt acts as an abraisive and knocks resin off

oven cleaner workz.

lol, he better pay me good for goin through all this trouble. but i jus bout an acrylic bong right after my homie told me he broke my bong an now im thinkin if it gets all ratty lookin ima need another one, lol. but i did tha dishwashing liquid thing an jus capped both ends, covered tha stem home an swirled an shaken it realy hard. all that happened was a couple chunks of resin came out. about tha rubbing alcohol and salt will this work if i cant scrubb it?? i cant reach a toothbrush into either of tha two bubbles so i can ouly let it sit an maby swirl it around an shake it a little bit.

yeh, the alc should dissolve the resin, just let it sit for awhile. acetone also works if ya got it.

yah fill it up with rubbing alcohal and salt and let it sit over night then shake it around for a minute or to rinse it out with water and maybe do it agin

I would never try that at all. The problem with that is it might work, but putting it in the freezer will make the glass more easily broken and if you are hitting it then you have a greater chance of breaking it. Also I would think cold resin would be harder to remove cause it will get harder and stay stuck together more I would think.

ok, so i think ima try tha rubbing alcohol thing, but any ideas on what kind of rubbing alcohol?? ethonal, methonal, .....????

any of them.they are all alcohol so they will all eat at the resin

LOL, the alchohol wont dissovle resin, quite the opposite, i like to get the resin to smoke outta my pipes so soak it in rubbing alchohol for a night and poor the alchohol out, that should get most of it, then rinse it thuroughly

sorry about another post but if u wanna smoke teh resin put the alchohol on something u dont care about like a plate or something and then let it evap, and scrape it off wit a razer blade, its awesome

ok, well i got this thing as clean as its gonna get im pretty sure. but this piece of freustration jus reminded me why i stick to pyrex.

too all u out there thinkin bout buyin ur first bong, pyrex iz more expensive by a lil but way more worth it. acrylic stinks like an old ladies asshole after a while of use. its hard as shit to clean, and they are jus flat out more work. of course they iz more durable but if ur careful enough to keep ya pyrex alive fer some time ull know what im talkin bout

or get a RooR bong and you can get a Ash Catcher for 70-90$ wich keeps it pretty clean :)
