Psychosis?

K Ive been looking on Wikipedia about psychosis, and I think I got it. Ive been taking Accutane for a while now and one of the side effects are psychosis, plus I did Savlia last weekend and it feels like Ive taken it with me even when Im sober. Plus psycedelics can also cause it, Ive done E twice in two weeks.

I hate this feeling, I cant remember really what sober is, I have really lost touch with reality. I start thinkin that Im just in a dream, or ppl I talk to arent there, or that everything isnt real.

Im FUCKIN TRIPPIN!!! Plz any advice you can give will REALLY help.

This is totally just speculation, but maybe you are just adjusting to a state of higher conciousness. Enjoy it! And maybe try to get more sleep

Im never sober. I havnt been sober from drugs and drink for 3 years, but ive addjusted to life.... It's quite fun to be stoned all the time, im just lucky i have the money to do it....

Higher conciousness, man was not ment for this. Think about it, having constant thoughts challanging your concept of reality. Always thinking to your self, "Was I like this before?", "Is this what sober is?", "Will I ever go back to the way I was", shit like this. Ive been checkin it out and I definatly sounds like Psychosis. Im going to go talk to my doctor soon bout it. For now its gone away, but it could still come back.

Quite the opposite, instincts are constantly pushing your nature towards a more inquisitive one, look at kids, they rip, stamp, kill, chase anything that moves, and hurl themselves from high places because of there nature to go 'Well I wonder what that's like?' and they'll soon find out, you are constantly second guessing, questioning and resolving every aspect of life, all the time, even in your dreams. You can't kno for certain if your vision/perception has been altered permanently becuz, you didn't ever question what you were lookin thru before, or take such a mental note on what was happening when you were, you've taken drugs that warp ure perception of the outside by makin details more pronounced and colourful, that place you in a proverbial seat, pressed up to the lenses of ure eyes, as a fly on the wall, an observer, and once you have come more back to a participant (lets call it the ego hey! why not?), you try and desperately fumble around the caverns of ure mind, trying to grasp sense, and reality, since they seem to be notions, that are more fundamental to you than remembering how to eat. But there foundations have been rocked, by a small pill, or an intoxicating drink, and you write off the strange effect as just a drug, because of course, you KNEW what reality was before, and you COULD make sense of it, you knew why the glass fell out of ure hand when u release it, its gravity!

Now, ask ureself in all honesty, what is gravity? Think about what life is man. Birth (ure mom getin spunk inside her, cuz ure dad looked at her in the same light as you look at that dirty ass philly dancing over in the corner, and out of the millions of microscopic tadpole things, it was you that made it there, and all along ure dad cud of just had a wank and u'd be gone, but u wouldn't cuz u wouldn't be what you are now), the learning process (positive reinforcement, punishment, pain) sex (the pulsating, sweating, and thrustin which isn't for social shit or pleasure, but so a parasite that u have conjured in to this world through the balls between ure legs, subconcsiously, can latch on to the inner linings of something called a uterus which is inside the girl you are just consciously going in and out of, then nine months later, ure girls body will have developed summat that you couldn't even see, in to another one of you) Death (ure actually goin to die man, this is goin to end, can you believe it?) and then read over psychosis.

Man wasn't made to do anything at all, but the one thing he wasn't made to do was attain understanding through observation, cuz the only time u will have understood that which occurs around you, is when you let ureself be at the whim of what you perceive, but usually, you are so used to everyday experience, the last thing you would ever think of is 'I wonder if this shit really is what I think it is?' becuz as you see from ure mini panic attacks, thoughts just seem to pop in to ure head, and if you can't find the tie to that loose end, it will bother you as you pride ureself on the concept of understanding (until u either go to sleep, or cease thinking about it, what does this really say about the prospective impact/significance of ure thoughts?). I can understand where ure coming from, before you were blissfully ignorant and taking everything in ure stride, and now you question everything, which not every1 does so you feel wierd and alienated, cuz you are setting the general public as ure benchmark for normality.

Well NOW examine public interaction, society and the like, and instead of categorizing the hardcore drinkers, in to a hardcore drinkin category, or the potheads in to the pot smokin category, or those fucked up twats who try to start fights in to the fuckhead category, look at them with the same objectivity as you would a pigeon, or monkey. Not a group of individuals with thoughts and blablabla, but the way you look at a mass of birds flying south, without individuality, as you can't tell one bird from the next (I can't explain it any other way, sorry), and then observe the different behaviours of all those people who are essentially composed of the same basic things, and then once you've mulled over all those things, I want you to try and tell me what you thought you knew of normality before you were exhibiting the chaotic signs of 'psychosis'.

The strange thing is, is that we are aware of our 5 senses, and have no problem coming to terms with how pleasurable taste, or sensation can differ so dramatically from person to person, but when we think of sight, since it's such a large portion of our connection to the outside world, and we've created devices to capture what it is we are looking at, we don't analyse sight with the same level of uniquity, and personal connection as the other senses, it isn't our individual interpretation of certain aspects of the environment, impressing themselves, personally on to our sense organs, but instead you believe that you and ure friend are staring at the same rock, but you don't realize that ure not, ure staring at a completely different sequence of light bouncing off the rock, which will form the same pattern, but jus like the taste of a slice of cake, u and ure friend can eat from the same cake, but never taste the same part at the same time, since once it is gone, it has already changed in to something else, you have consumed the cake, and ure consuming something analogous to eating cake, for every external stimulus.

It is this subtle distinction between individuals observations, that I believe to be one of the most interesting aspects of reality. Because the only reason you are being looked at as psychotic, is because every1 else isn't thinking about the same things as you, but they all question, whatever they are contemplating, with the same level of concentration and intent, but as they are about different subjects, there line of thought is much more productive than ure silly daydreaming about a prospect as SIMPLE as reality, and they can allow themselves to be consumed with worry over, I dunno, what Daves wearing, or whether or not Mary is gonna go off with Bill, since I really wanna get head off Mary, and now I'm so consumed with that thought, I'm depressed! but never mind, all thats normal aint it, what man was meant to do! Worry about stupid bitches fuckin him over, and whether or not he has enough money (which I heard they get a lot of in the wild!) to outdrink John on the weekend, Yeeeee thats Captain Caveman right there, the epitomy of evolution! And I'm not saying that that is wrong, that was more of an example to say, What's right? cuz thats what a lot of sane people I've met over the past few years have consumed there thoughts with, some of em even came to blows cuz they got that pissed off with there differing opinions, so you're gonna tell me in all certainty, that that's normal, but having a few random thoughts about what reality is is wierd?

As for the Ecstasy, I highly doubt that 2 uses in the past two weeks, will precipitate psychosis, same with ure salvia use, and if you think it has something to do with it, I'd say it has about as much relevance as smoking weed would have, or going jogging daily, in other words, not very much :D How old are you man? Oh and if you believe the overall tone of this post is condescending, then I apologize, and ask you to read it again (Hey if you even read it at all, I write a lot man, again sorry), cuz I'm trying to say What the fuck are you so worried about? You wake up in the mornin don't u? you have food and water on tap? ure letting a small thing get right on top of you, because even if you know whats going on, it doesn't matter, it really doesn't, the highs are still as high, and the lows still painfully low, and more importantly, they happen all the same, whether you like/dislike/understand/come to terms with, they just keep on goin straight ahead, far from ure control. Stop worrying so much about ure thoughts, they are one thing that you can do without consequence, or judgement, ure ideal playground man!

Ya I was thinkin it might have been the E, cuz I think this shit startes happening after I rolled off of some green spades. But I also did the Salvia that weekend like 2days after I rolled, and I was looking at the side effects of Accutane and, well all these seem that they could have done this. But Im gonna see if I can get to the doctor to know for sure. Cuz it will suck ass if its the E I got cuz I still got 2 more, and I dun wanna flush em or sell em.

Psychosis occurs because when we should be developing our brains, we're destroying them, via alcohol poisoning, and lowering their immunity by drinking caffeine, smoking tobacco, doing coke.

Plus, if your father is a serial killer, than most likely you're not gonna play on the U.S. Volleyball team.

O BTW my E dosnt taste bitter like it should. It has a bitterness to it but also is kinda sour. I no its not speed cuz my mouth should go numb. And Jimmycrackcorn, I gotta say it, "Speak English", I no ur trin to help but damn. E should have a real bitter taste to it like T3s right?

Mental problems and suicide. Some patients, while taking Accutane or soon after stopping Accutane, have become depressed or developed other serious mental problems. Symptoms of these problems include sad, "anxious" or empty mood, irritability, anger, loss of pleasure or interest in social or sports activities, sleeping too much or too little, changes in weight or appetite, school or work performance going down, or trouble concentrating. Some patients taking Accutane have had thoughts about hurting themselves or putting an end to their own lives (suicidal thoughts). Some people tried to end their own lives. And some people have ended their own lives. There were reports that some of these people did not appear depressed. No one knows if Accutane caused these behaviors or if they would have happened even if the person did not take Accutane.

Unless your acne is threatening your physical health in some direct way, I'd get off that crap, especially before I let them give me major tranquilizers or shock treatment as mental health professionals love to do.

Quit doing salvia, E, and other major mind fucks, try to eat right and get exercise, and find someone you can really trust to talk to about all this shit.

I can really understand now tho why ppl would ya commit suicide (not saying im even considering) but it feels like your in a dream or something and the only way out it to end it abruptly, it feels like a prison and all the hype about it is just to stop you from escapeing the prison. Like this shit aint fun to be thinking about, but it just comes in. It feels also like youve found something out (like the prison thing) that you dont want to know and your praying that you forget.

Just lay off the E and salvia... If it makes you feel like this, then really, is it worth it?

JUst stick with the harmless drugs... Like weed.

Just relax and stop taking the EEEEs for good. Those will leave you depressed because they deplete your brain of neurotransmissors(sp) in order to give you that high during its effect, but after the effect passes the brain remains deprived of those NTs and you're feeling down for a long period of time to compensate the huge burnout and the depletion during the time you took the pills. So my advice is stick to pot or hash and get rid of everything else

Lay off the E for good?!? Seems drastic. Do you think just doin E every once in a while wouldnt be so bad, do you think it would end up fucking me 4ever. O and I dont plan on doing Salvia anymore, that phase has passed. Beside Im am really thinkin its the meds Im on cuz I took a break form em for a few days then took them day and I definatly new something was differant.

No im not a habitual user, I get lots of dreams. But I might see if I can get some of that 5-HTP tho. Is it like those After-E things that you can get to replenish ur chemicals. But I did E today and Im feeling really good so far, I took it a like 10:00am in my secord period class, LoL rollin in skool is the best ever, but I didnt take the meds today and so far, so good. But we will see how time goes on.

ive had pretty much the exact same thing quite recently..
its fucked up.. i was smoking a lot of weed, i was on a different world to where i am now, sounds weird but u might get me.
i dont know how i got back to feeling normal.. i did quite a bit of coke and drunk alot of alcohol over the easter break and now im feeling like i used to feel..
its so complicated i thought i could try help u better but i cant, maybe u got something different to what i had, but just try get on with things as normal and do not abuse weed(i stopped so much in the day and tryed to save myself for the evening)

oh yeah, eat healthy, drink water and try get a decent supplement you think will do you best(theres loads to choose from that can make your head feel better, just do a search) i started taking ginkgo biloba(for different reasons) and its made me feel better all round definate

You may want to try improving your diet. There was an interesting article in last weekend's NY Times magazine section about fatty acids (found in fish) and mood. I take Omega 3 fish oil supplements every day. If you eat fish, though, you're probably getting enough.

I would recommed dropping "E" and most of the other stuff that you've tried. These drugs can have long-term detrimental effects on your health. It's not worth doing irreversible damage to your body and/or mind just to get a few hours of fun. There are plenty of alternatives that are much healthier.

It's never going to hurt you to do nothing at all, and dry-out, in terms of taking recreational substances, periodically. The body and mind have to have "recovery" time, especially after binging, even more so as you get older.

Im 16, my "recovery time" is never going to be faster, but I make sure to take breaks every once in a while. I really only do shit on weekends, and periodicly during weekdays and skool. And I just went out to buy some Ginko Biloba ( I tried to find the 5-HTP ). And Im taking a break from E, I had a really bad, uncomfortable comedown last night, I only got 1hr sleep all night. O and what I said about the green spades not being E maybe, I was VERY wrong I was ROLLIN BABY!

BestTonichIsChronic, since you say you're having trouble feeling like you're fully back in reality, may I recommend an excercise? Just wait till a really nice sunny day, don't take ANY drugs, and go out into nature somewhere very quiet. Then, find a slightly downward sloped piece of ground, sit there cross legged or however's comfy for you, and observe. Sit there for just 15 minutes, longer if you can, and dedicate 100% of you focus to being aware of your surroundings, putting your thoughts aside for a little while.

I take it your, budhist, because of "The Buddha" in you signature. I got question 4 u, does meditation, like just sitting there thinking actually do something for you? Im jw cuz it sounds like it would be pretty cool, ecpecially lucid dreaming.

Yep, I follow the teachings of the buddha,and they've served me very well, especially lately.

Unfortunately ever since starting college my meditations stopped entirely, but I've restarted since a couple days ago. And yes, meditation is extremely beneficial, but many people take an entirely wrong approach to it and don't gain anything, thinking that their "meditation" doesn't work.

I'll explain a little bit about it, but it's a much more difficult practice than you might imagine. Some people take years before they master the technique.

Essentially meditation (at least in buddhism) is about stripping away the ego, the drives within you, the impulses, thoughts, and thought patterns that hold you in a certain mindset. It is release from the sense of "self" in order to see the true self, and understand the true nature of "self".

Sit quietly with eyes closed in a comfortable possition without distractions. I preferre cross-legged but even buddhist masters use everything from lotus possition to regular chairs. Breath deeply and slowly, letting the breath come naturally. Put your focus on observing the breath, letting it come and go by itself.
Now here's the hardest part.... clearing your mind of thoughts. Continue maintaining your focus on the breath, counting each set of breaths to 10 if it helps. Thoughts will innevitably arise and you must not fight this, simply acknowledge (without thinking in words) the thoughts, and put them aside. When you first start meditation, you will put these aside and they'll most likely come back within seconds. that doesn't matter, nothing matters. meditation is goaless, it is only the effort that counts.
Continue this process until you reach a point where your mind has reached absolute calm and focus, your thoughts and self feel formless, existence feels formless. you will know when you've reached this stage because it's a sense of peace and clarity like you've never imagined. Now that you've attained this state, shift your focus off the breath to all existence, which will basically consist of the infinite mental state you are in. maintain this as long as possible, and above all else don't allow yourself to get concerned about how much progress you're making. you may not even make it as far as this lesson your first try, and that's fine.

lay off the weed!

MJ can be a trigger for psychosis in some people - there are some people who regardless of what drugs they take or what they do will go on to develop psychosis and other mental health problems....however there is also another group of people who have pre-disposition to mental health problems - but would not go on to develop them without the use MJ (and others....) It kind of pushes u over the thresh-hold so to speak.....
this is generally accepted medical knowledge....and on a personal level, i know 2 people who've suffered drug induced psychosis.....both from MJ - one of whom has been sectioned twice.....

this maybe isnt going to be a popular view here on cannabis.com - but there are some serious side affects to smoking MJ - for a small minority of the population.....and those people are better off quitting for good rather than risking their long term health.....
