The book is better, it's in Different Seasons called Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption. I remember reading it before the movie came out and it was much better.

Yeah I would say its my favorite movie. Ive read the book too. They were about equally good in my opinion.

gotta love the stephen king.
