how can i treat tap water to make it more suitable for my plants i.e reduce tds and remove the chlorine?
i read let it distil (let it sit) sry kinda high :D
Love
Well that will work for chlorine , but tds...lol zandor or post man need to help you with that ....
cool thanks guys would boiling remove any impurities?
Just buy some water...you growing in soil?
I'm assuming you're not in an area where you can catch rain water and use that . . .
Two ways to purer water are to:
1) filter it with a Britta or similar commercial water filter or
2) distill it.
The filter option is easier for the average person, because a filter can be installed directly on a kitchen tap and you get "real time" filtering. Distilling may result in more pure water, but it has to be done in batches and stored for use.
Boiling kills critters in water, but only concentrates the impurities. As the water boils off, the other crud is left in the pan. If you boiled it off and captured the steam, you'd essentially have a distillation.
ohright i'l have to invest in one of those filters cause i cant access rainwater as i live in an upstairs apartment thanks for the help... yep i'm growin in soil-coco
Boil it to steralize it... Then you can let that boiled water sit, then put it in the fridge, then let it come to room temp and put it on your plants.
buy an RO unit off ebay for 89.95...you will be happy in the long-run

I bought one of these last year and now I have a perfect ph balance, week to week. I add calmag+ in order to re-introduce the proper concentration of minerals needed for optimum photosynthesis. hope this helps, good luck, keep us posted, lw
I would just get a couple of gallons fill them with water and leave them in your grow room for more than 30 hours so it can evaporate the clorine out and does't shock your plants with cold water they don't like cold water remamber the old ways are the best way keep in OG status lol..
hey highweed...we are trying to buy land and move to Oregon, what's up...Will we like it as much as we think?
or ya can try the evapouration method take alook at the pic for more info
hope this helps cheers all :)
