Can anyone please post the rj45 to db9 pinouts for the Telaire 8001. Would like to get into it and make some changes. I don't have the cable and would like to just build one.

Wow man... never heard of that... is it a grow room controller? Hydro controller? Atmosphere controller?
You gOOgled and nothing?
Man what are the rj45 to db9 pinouts?
Does that setup display co2 readings and act as a regulator?
RJ45 is the typical network connector plug... like a phone cable plug, slightly bigger.Quote:

The Telaire 8001 is a CO2 sensor/controller. There is a cable that connects the 8001 to a computer. The 8001 has a RJ45 (looks like a phone plug) the other end has a DB-9 (serial adapter that plugs into any computer). If someone would post which pins on the RJ45 go to which ones on the DB-9 it would not only benefit me, but this board....
You use this for CO2 monitoring, such as if you were to use it in a grow room with CO2 injection and wanted to keep the levels at about 1500-1600!!!!
I googled the snot out of this, spent 4 days looking, and looked on any board I could think of. Figured that someone must have the cable here and could just use a quick VOM to check the pins on it.
Thanks
Sounds like a intriging device and seems pretty cheap for a pc monitor. I would contact the company. They should be able to email you the info you need.
Nevermind, was able to figure it out.
I just saw this. Were you able to get it working? Did you build the relay that goes with it? How did that go for you?Quote:

In getting the connector figured out, man... I had to use a 10x scope to see if there was any traces on the board. Saw what was wired on the board and used my common sense to make a cable. No problem... nailed it the first time. pins 1,2,3 (l-r) on the sensor and 2,3,5 on the DB9 (not the right order)
I'm hoping that the sensor settles down to what should be about 500ppm in the room with outside/inside air mix.
I have actually built a controler that switches the fan, the lights, senses temprature swing of 10 degrees, switches the CO2 on/off, and detects darkness (no CO2 at night) for about 40 bucks... whats that a 350 dollar savings!! I should post the schematics for this... might be over the head of others, but some might be able to understand this. Now just have to get the CO2 tank filled.
Also - If I can't get it self-recalibrated, could I just use canned nitrogen as a zero point reference gas?
Thanks... All this to grow tomatoes
Back to Bar-B-Barn for a drink!
^^^^ That's good... we've got a new McGuyver...
Hey what's wrong with McGyver? He kicked ass with a paper clip, shoe string, and a rock!!
I was looking at some of the old OG threads... they had some guys there that knew their shit. I enjoy making things on the cheap when I see the same things for sale for hundreds of dollars.
There is no reason a temp controller for a fan should cost a couple of hundred dollars. Parts add up to about 15 bucks. Add some brains (usually the hard part to find!), soldering iron, etc... and done.
Some of the people here know what I'm talking about. Some just can't do it, some already have done it. Some want to but can't figure out the schematics.
If Zandor is around, I'd like to ask if he'd like me to post a few schematics for others (not for the sake of wasting my time, but for those interested) to use to build from.
Hell people might even learn a thing or two.
Are you kidding?Quote:

BTW: McGyver is cool... definitely.... imagine what he could do if he had an iPod, a spoon, and some FloraMicro!
That would ge great. Post them in the Advanced section and if you don't reply to questions in your how to posts I can make a clean FAQ out of it too. I can move posts but not edit them so replay to questions mess up a good faq if you know what I mean.Quote:

Yeah I would love to see this. I have enough intelligence to figure electronics out and I am about ready to throw down some cash for a controller.
