in my eyes god doesnt exist. but, i totally understand and embrace other people who believe in god. everyone has their reasons for believin in a god or gods, and it helps them get along with their lives. the way i see it, god exists in the people who need him, but thats it. :) the lyrics to 'Jesus Walks' by Kanye West say it perfect...

the way i see it, it doesnt matter what other people believe, only what YOU belive, what YOU have faith in.. dont get down and angry because the people around you dont think the same way as you... we're all humans man, shit. we're all made outta the same stuff, wether we black, white, japanese, american, portuguese, it dont matter! when we'r naked we'r all the same, maybe we're different colours, shapes sizes, but what does that matter? if u get one white cat and one black cat, one cat from india and one cat from pakistan, and put them in a room, they dont start beatin on eachother? naw, coz none of that shit matters! we all the fuckin same in the end!. so anyway, just be tolerant of ppls beliefs and accept it, and hopefully theyll do the same about you and your beliefs, oherwise this world is gonna get more and more fucked up, and its gonna stay fucked up, but if we all learn to be tolerant, then we'll be aiight.. just remember, no matter what anyone else believes, the only thing you should give a fuck about is WHAT YOU BELIEVE.. if ppl start to think that like, then hell, maybe one day all this bullshit will stop and we can live in world without fighting, killing, war, all that shit.. and thats what we all want, right?

But wars are caused by other people IMPOSING, their views onto others.
It's not all, peace and love, or, you mind yours, i'll mind mine, because it's an integral part, for them to recruit others.
For example, sorry to use these faiths, but they are the most obvious.
Muslim's only go to their "heaven" if they recruit other people into the faith.
And Jehovah's witnesses and admittadly christians now a days do.

Mole, i agree. What value is your faith if you dont question it and you accept it with no doubt. For a person like that needs to seriously consider their beliefs. I fight with my faith everyday but i just cant deny it. My head hurts.

By this i mean I don't believe that there is a man or woman sitting in heaven or wherever, who created the universe and is omnipotent and omniscient, and that is MY truth, but I do believe God exists in the mind of the people who believe in him, and that is YOUR truth. To you, there is a God. It's that simple. To me there isnt a God. It's that simple. I don't, and probably never will, know which one of us is right or wrong but I dont believe it matters. What matters is what us as individuals believe. God exists to you, and his presence may help you get along with your life. That's the important thing.

As far as an omnipotent, omniscient God who sits on his thrown in heaven and sends us to heaven or hell goes, I don't believe that. Simply because, in my opinion, it is just as believeable as saying Leprechauns or Unicorns or Big Foot exists. I haven't seen any proof, nobody has, therefore i do not believe it until i see some proof :) I dont, I CANT have faith in something that I believe someone else has created.

As for the point in our existance, I don't know what it is. I believe that we don't have a 'reason for being here', we just are. There is no almighty goal that we must struggle towards. We create our own goals on the way, and seek out our own personal fullfillment :) It is different for each of us, and that is why i say God exists in you but not in me. You may see your faith as your reason for being here. I do not have that faith, but it doesn't mean my existence is any less important as yours, just that we are looking for fullfillment in different places and in different ways :)

Its hard for some people to be tolerant of others beliefs because they are insecure with their own beliefs. I mean think about it. They spend so much time and devotion on their religion that when someone questions it they go immediatly into defense mode.

I once knew a Evolution Professor who told me even if there was proof that Gid did create the earth he couldnt believe it because he spent almost hes whole life devoted to evolution. Even if ther were hard facts that disproved evolution he couldnt believe it because that would mean he life was wasted. I dont think his life would be wasted.

Exactly!! Spirituality and religion are not the same, but what with organized religion, they have almost become confused with eachother! To believe in something, to have faith, does not mean that you are right and people who think differently are wrong, which is what religion teaches us to believe!

Logic is a funny thing, because two people can logically look at the same situation and come to different conclusion, each thinking the other to be wrong. That is what religions do, they also promote anomosity, hate, fear, they cause divides and splits between groups of people, between families and friends. If we were to throw away the shackles of organized religion and all believed what we want to believe, and consider others opinions just as valid as our own opinions, then the world will be a much better place!! :) thats how i see it anyway, but hey, im just 17, what do i know!? lol :p

thats a tough question.. if you mean can i look at the world objectively, then no. Everything i see is seen subjectively. The way i percieve people, places, things, time, space, anything, is personal to me. I have my own opinions and therefore view things differently to everyone else.

If you mean the first question, then I do not know, because everyones interpritation of events and things is different, so what can i compare my interpritation of them to? I'm not sure exactly how that quote goes, but its something like that. In other words, because I dont believe than religion is totally false, but for people that do believe, it is completely %100 right. Theres no one in between that can decide whos right or wrong, because everyone has beliefs and opinions. So, if no one is impartial enough to decide whos right or wrong, and if neither side has any proof of what theyre saying, then why argue? Why not just agree to disagree and leave it at that? :)

I dont have such a problem with people who believe in a religion, but i frown much upon the churches them-selves, and the leaders of the religion. I find that christianity actually brainwashes members, I have a sister who never believed in it, went to a few of these "Christian youth clubs" and came back obbsessed with praying and constantly talking about "jesus". I have found books aimed at infants that automaticaly impose the fact that god exists on the child, without even questioning the possibility that god DOESN'T exist. It puts the child in the same position as in a classroom learning science, they cant question it, becuase they are been told that it is real. I think people should be of a certain age beforen they join a religion. LOL haha, now that sounds piggish. O well,

kids are brought up believing "god exists, he'll kick ur ass if u dont do this that or the other" blah blah blah, they never get the chance to think for themselves, because theyre "too young" and by the time theyre old enough to think for themselves, its almost like theyve been brainwashed to believe what theyve been told al their life.. thats why its hard to explain MY beliefs to people, because almost everyone has grown up believin in some sort of religion or god, so alot of ppl believe atheists or non-believers (i dont like to be called an atheist as such, coz i dont like to be labelled into one particular group) are the worst type of sinners lol so i agree, ppl should be givin the chance to decide for themselves

a few ppl in my family were Jehovahs Witnesses.. now im not sayin that Jehovahs Witnesses are wrong or they have thje wrong idea, BUT they are one of the most arrogant faiths ive come across.. they forbid their children to have friends that arent Jo-Hoes (jehovahs witnesses), if you leave the Jo-Hoes you cant be friends with all ur old friends who still r Jo-Hoes, if sum1 in ur family gets kicked out (yes, they actualyl kick people out for not stickin to their rules, then make it look like theyre doin u a favour by speakin to u and lettin u back in) then u can lo longer have anythin to do with that person, even tho theyre in your family!!!! now to me, thats just WRONG.. i accept their beliefs but that is totally wrong.. anyway im ramblin and im gonna stop (for now ;))
