My son discovered internet porn!

He asked if he could log on to WWE (wrestling) while I was half asleep this morning, and I said sure. Three hours later, he's still in the room, with door closed. I didn't realise this until I woke up, and went to check on him. (I woke up at 10:00 am)

I opened the door, and he's sitting at the computer with hand on mouse staring at my background. He's like nervous as hell, and I asked what he was looking at...he says "I was just looking at your screensaver...you should make copies, and sell them"! He went on, and on, and on, and on about this!It was all I could do not to laugh at his answer.

Obviously, I knew he was looking at something on-line that he shouldn't, but I didn't press. I though I'd wait till he goes back to his mothers, and then check history.

Sure enough, he was looking for boobs, teens, girls, divas naked, and so on. He found several sites, too...As a proper father would do, I checked all of them out properly. Only one was like hardcore, but damn, I sure as hell wasn't ready to give the sex talk at 9 years of age!

Anyway, I don't want to be a dick, but he's only nine. I have no clue how to approach this issue with him.

I know it's completely natural, but like I said, he's 9 years old!

I'll be monitoring him when he gets on the pc in the future.

Any suggestions? I'm at a loss with this one. I knew it would happen "someday", but I'll be damned if it didn't happen today!

Nine is not an uncommon age to start being curious and attracted. My guess is that his "friends" told him about the sites, and of course, he was curious and wanted to be cool with his friends. I wouldn't make a big deal about it, let him think that he got away with something. As suggested, I would promptly put a filter on what he has access to (or he'll be visiting really nasty sites before long).

The best thing a father can teach his son at a young age, is how to engage in friendships with girls his age, and how to respect them as people. If you focus on that, you'll have a foundation to build on when he's really interested in sex.

I'm thinking about not letting him get on the pc for a bit. I don't know, maybe a couple weeks. Nothing major, man. I need to let him know that it is far better to be honest with me than to lie about things.
