Better ones
Great shot of the snow covered mountains.
You can see the feint trail on the picture on the left.
That is the one that I took
Then it cut under some barbed wire to the top
about a 2000ft elevation gain
Hiking's always been one of my favorite things to do when I'm baked. We've got a county park with about 80 miles of hiking trails about a 5 minute walk from our house. That's one of the things I love about living in Cali.
What's the snow covered mountain by the way? Is it San Jacinto?
That picture is looking east from Corona. I am pretty sure that is Running Springs. What part of Cali are you from?
thats mt.gorgonio i think
hey geo is that eagle rock on the pct.
hiking is my passion besides growing bud
very nice. Quite beutiful.
I went on a 2 day hiking trip around denver man was that beautiful, didnt ever want to leave! Now im just limited to hiking in woods around here out in the country, not great but still pleasant and quiet.
Naw. It is just a small peak out here in the I.E.Quote:

Check out these pictures of me rappeling an abandoned bridge on the way up to Big Bear from the 330
Great to see so many stoners out there who are also hikers!!
It's one of my favorite combinations, too.
Hiking in the New England woods can be pretty amazing.
Beautiful pics guys, I'll have to visit the Western states sometime.:)
I'm up in San Jose, we're down in the very south end of the city surrounded by mountains of 3 sides. Pretty sweet spot for someone into hiking. Anyhow, a long ways off from Riverside. San Jacinto was just a wild guess, I've driven by it a couple of times on my way out to Jtree.Quote:

Now, That shit would be crazy
Just one missed step
and your fucked
just like life
I've allways loved hiling, but not nearly as much as some of the people do back home. I used to run into people walking the apalachian trail all the time. Now that shit looks like it would just be too hard.
the at.
im gonna walk that someday also.
from springer mt
to mt.k in maine.
i agree geo, there's nothing like going on a 'trail blaze'
I agree. The AT looks awesome to hike. I was just back in Ohio and sent for some information on it. That is a great looking trail and alot of money is spent to keep it nice. Awesome.
I was just talking again today about Mt Whitney today
Check out this link

If anyone decides to hit the AT, take a stop at the nantahalla area in NC and let me know. that shit was by backyard. I know some killer spots to stop and burn.
Ever do any of the PCT? I'd love to do the whole thing but with my job, wife and 2yo daughter it doesn't look like I'll do it anytime soon. I did do about 120miles of it between Sonora Pass and Yosemite though. Awesome country, especially right near the northern border of Yosemite.Quote:

I've known a lot of people who have done the mountaineers route and am told that it's pretty fun and non-technical. Just some minor scrambling, you won't be on a trail but you won't need ropes either.
No. I have never done the PCT either. It is hard to set aside the time. That is why I do mostly day hikes. There are a ton of these type of hikes in my area.Quote:

i used to hike the AT all the time when i lived in Virginia i was about 20 minutes away from it. If anybody decides to tackle that beast u need to do so much research about where u can stop for supplies along the way. its a huge undertaking. im going out to cali this summer and hopefully i will find the time to take a couple nice hikes and blaze juan in the hills.:smokin:
humpback rocks is off the AT i used to hike up there all the time. it been one of my favorite spots to hike for years. heres some pics. i found these on the net cuz i dont have a digital camera so thats not me in them.
Humpback looks like a great place to toke a fat one:thumbsup:
i like the way it opens up
Did some hiking in Box Springs Mountain Reserve here in Riverside today. I was out of bud but my buddy came through with a nice bowl up on the summit of the short hike that we went on (2186ft) elevation. Did about 5 miles today. He had his Ipod with speakers so we were jammin to The Dead, Doors and Marley all day.
I stole these pics from the Box Springs website. I will put the true pics on once they get downloaded. Late
i took my almost two year old daughter on her
second hike.she impressed me so so much.
she walked 2 1/2 miles on her own.those tiny lil legs
today she woke up sore cuz shes walking funny.
monrovia canyon park is nice for anyone living in so.cal
So your daughter did ok by herself? Must have been pretty slow hiking for you though? I've been wondering when would be a good time to take my little girl out for the first time, she's 2 1/2 now. Last two years I've been carrying her around on my back. The pic is us hiking about 1/2 mile from our house. Now she's getting a bit heavy, however, and doesn't really like being contained anymore. I've been thinking about going out again once the weather gets nice but wasn't too sure. I'm just worried about introducing her too soon and having her wind up hating it. Did your little girsl have a good time?
hell yeah she loved it.
but my daughter is fucking strange.
she'll be 2 on sat.
she must and i mean must pour her own milk,
she has to change herself, feed herself.she wants
to do everything herself.sometimes its annoying but
i think its a good thing.
take your kid somewhere easy and take toys and lunch.
just go alone with her and youll see shee love it.
unless she dont then just have another kid maybe that one will.
out of three kids only one impresses me much.
That is cool. Kids need to get away from the TV, Computer, telephone and get outside
I have 2 daughters
and only one of them likes to hike
I started her really early (about 3)
and I used to take her on 3 to 4 mile hikes
steep as fuck
and she could keep up and can to this day
but my other daughter.
HATES even the mention of hiking.
She is more worried about her friends and being cool I guess.
I guess some you can convert
and some you cant
