yeah i have an envirolite they do them in watts mine is a 200w blue spectrum for vegative and they do a red spectrum one for flowering also in 200w or ya can get them in 125w i live in the uk but im not sure if they sell wordwide ya best bet is to do a search in google, yeah they are good lamps mine is working great so far ill attach a pic to this so ya can see what they look like they dont give off much heat so ya plants are safe to put up to an inch close to it too and there is no need for a separate ballast as they are self ballasted which is another good point :)
As for gettin hold of em, try eBay, theres loads, getting 2 125W's seems better value for money than 1 200W if you find the ones that are £19.99 each.
Basically you pay a fiver more for an extra 50 watts(because postage is only an extra 50p to get a 2nd light) + more positionability(I think poseability is the correct word!)/coverage with 2 lights.
they dont seem worth it id need about 6 of them and for that moneyid be about the same for a hps and have better growth
If u can afford hps/mh and can get rid of the heat thats the way to go.
i think ill use the heat to my advantage
just be carefull that you dont scorch ya plants that wont be nice as i say envirolites give off practically nothing so my plants are nice have a second think befour you get any lights cause the envirolites are self ballasted which will save you money even if you do need to get a couple of them, 200w would be nice but as jonny says its more affordable to get 125w which wont matter too much cause you will be getting to cover more area in ya grow room let us know what ya end up getting jakenthegentiles
cheers guys :rasta:
I would reccommend using a couple for veg, and make sure you cover the correct spectrum, and then use a HPS for flowering, Maybe supplimented with a red spectrum envirolight just as a booster.

yeah that sounds like a good idea jonny i could do with trying that one :)
It would be nice. I might think about a lower wattage HPS after this next grow.
What kinda heat would a 250 HPS kick out, compared 2 my 200w envirolite.
legalize uv just show me in ur ww thred that maby i shodul go with an envirolite do u need a hood from enviorlight or could i but teh buld put it in a drop light and use that
U can build 1 see busteruk7's thread or I bought mine 4 about £20 in my local grow shop. Envirolite only make 2 or more bulb hoods, which i couldnt fit in my wardrobe. At the start i even just hung the bulb.

I can control the heat on a 150w HPS better than I can control the heat of 134w of CFLs [ in two spectrums; (2x 42) warm white and (2x 25) in daylight ]. Simply because I'm focusing my fan's energy on a single bulb [ well, in my case since my HPS is a floodlight; the housing ] and not on multiple lights. Not only that, it was slightly more space conservative -- one quality I always looked for in lights for my relatively small grow spaces. Hope this helped.Quote:
