Hey i need everyones input on this, I have made a steamroller made up of a 2 foot pvc pipe that i drilled a hole into the top and put a socket wrench piece into for the bowl its a pretty basic homemade piece, when i first used it i noticed the space below the bowl is slowly melting away in one spot from were the steady stream of smoke is hitting it, i gotta fix this cause i for one dont wanna smoke pvc fumes, so what do you all think i should do about this.
hot glue a 2 or 3 ply popsicle stick base to it
I hate to make claims without links to back em up, but it's pretty well known stoner info that pvc pipes and bongs and very bad for you, and should be avoided. Get rid of it.
whats happening is a very bad thing...i think a new peice is the answer but i guess you could line it with tin foil....better than smoking plastic
Use cardboard rather than pvc pipe maybe? Like those big cardboard tubes you get from wrapping paper, that you use at swords lol
Just get a real pipe and not risk poisoning yourself.
yea....or just make a soda bong....lol....just buy a can of monster and like pinch the side of it....then cut above the pinched area and slide the piece inside it....if yer that desprate or just buy a pipe or roll a joint
well i like this steamroller cause it gets me so high, im probley gonna do the popsicle idea and im underage and cant buy a pipe and i know what your gonna say get someone to buy it for you but i dont have any money for that either cause i spend all my money on bud, all you need is a Homemade piece some weed a lighter and your set.
or, do what i'm doing, quit smoking for a week + and save up your money to buy a pipe. and, lowers your tolerance at the same time, so when you finaly smoke again it'll be worth it.

Like others have said, PVC is bad news. PVC fumes aren't just bad for you, like smoking with aluminum foil, they are deadly. People have died in house fires not from the flames or the smoke but just from inhaling PVC fumes. Seriously, stay away from the PVC.

okay i fixed the problem with a tiny piece of wood under the piece so it doesnt melt the pipe so am i still at risk?. and dont be a bunch of fucking assholes its just a question okay i posted this to get a decent answer.

Not trying to be an asshole, just stressing that PVC fumes are bad news. I've done a lot with PVC and sometimes I heat it up to make it bendable. I can tell you from experience that it doesn't need to look melted or burned to be giving off fumes. Whenever I'm heating it I always wear a mask and do it in an area that's well ventilated.
Bottom line, PVC is not meant to be used as a matarial for a smoking device. Don't risk it. If your trying to make something home made try finding some acrylic tubing, that's what they make bongs out of. Look in the phonebook under plastics. If you have a TAP near you they should have it. Or, find a big piece of bamboo and use that. Anything but the PVC.

but on a side note.. PVC is very malleable.. you can bend it with your hands most of the time.. and isn't very heat resistant..
I don't suggest using or making pipes and or smoking tools out of PVC piping..
u can make a steamroller outa a cardboard paper roll like the ones that wrapping paper is wrapped round. work just as good and dont have to worry bout the plastic.
i got this idea, ill just hot glue tiny pieces of wood all around the front part of the pipe so that no plastic is exposed that way once it gets through the wood chamber it will have cooled down alot, and another thing 5oz of pvc would be like if i somehow lit the whole pipe on fire than inhaled all of that through a hose or something, pvc is light i doubt this whole pipe even ways 5oz.
pvc even when not burned offgasses toxins. buy a glass pipe, shit buy a glass steamroller. do not smoke through or out of pvc. seriously!
wow man, just spend the money and buy a real glass piece. u can get one for like $15. hotglue is terrible for u, the wood ur using probably has tons of chemicals on it, and on top of that ur using PVC. is it really worth it?

You can get a sorta cool GLASS piece for like $10-12, a dank one for $20, a dank GLASS MINIBONG for $25, or an ultra dank glass bubbler for $40.
