Peruvian torch (San Pedro) dose???

I have a 125 gram bag of Peruvian Torch cactus, powdered. I think it's the species Trichocereus peruvianus, but not sure. I also have a smaller bag from a different source that is one ounce, which came with the words written on it: "One ounce peruvian torch cactus = 2 servings"

I think the smaller bag was supposed to be a "sampler," so 1/2 an ounce might be a relatively small dose (like for when you're first trying it). I have done san pedro before (my favorite drug so far), but I'm really not sure how much I took, and it was hard chunks rather than powder.

I have two questions for anybody who has experience with the powder kind:

1) What is a good dose? I have read everything from "15 grams will do," to people online who report they sometimes take over 100 grams(!!!). This seems like a huge difference to me, can anyone clarify? I was orignally hoping my 125g would be good for like 8 trips or so, if each one was a dose of like 15g---it would suck if I only got 2 or 3 trips out of it for me and my friends put together.

2) What sort of prep. do you do? I'd rather not take a lot of gelcaps, I'll probably make a tea with the powder. What does it taste like in hot water, and also, how much water do you add for a good ratio?

3. Any other helpful advice?

Damn, Euphoric, it looks like your Vomit champion post was taken down or something. That sucks, I remember seeing it but never clicked on it. Do you mind giving me the gist?

15 grams produced very light effects for me. i've swallowed it with juice, swallowed it with water, and cooked it down into a foul tasting extract mixture with lemon juice. ECK! i weigh about 165lbs. ...if any of that helps.

Test the product and dont worry about losing alot of grams because testing only involves 15g-20g, then wait a while after the testing and if you need to raise your doseage up, most say 40g-50g is a strong trip if its a good quality product. The whole an ounce is a 1 serving is true in most cases since an ounce is about 28g-29g. I know a guy who dosed 50 and told me he seen hellish demons comming out of his toilet that he was stuck to the whole night tripping. Take some dramamine and some cannabis during the tirp even how disgusting moving or doing anything of th that sort sounds.

Has anyone ever tried making chocolate with the powder in it, the way you would do with mushrooms?

My friend came up with this idea, we're thinking about doing that now.

you could--it will still taste bad, I am sure of that---al you would have to do is melt the chocolate and add all the extras you want including the powder

The trip was incredible and seemed life-changing at 20 grams each. We decided to dispense with the "san pedro chocolates" idea and just went with swallowing it with OJ. You really need quite a bit of juice to make the powder tolerable, we nearly ran out towards the end and I had to add a lot of water to my last cup.

But if you have enough juice it really wasn't that bad tasting, relatively speaking. A lot of nausea afterwards, we walked around in the woods for a while trying to throw up---my friend did but I never managed to. We smoked some cannabis in the tent, which helped with the nausea immediately, and sent us directly into outer space. I like to experience the drug "by itself," but it was a really good combination in this case to add some pot.

We kept ourselves alive with the fire all night, and just sat by it in really deep connection with nature; just sitting, and being it and breathing it and sharing energy with the world around us, becoming one with the geese and trees and air around us, and the beautiful unbelievable MOON.

Has anyone ever had a bad trip on this? Cause I sure don't see how it's possible, it put me right back on my feet on the gentle earth again. I recommend this drug to every human being, it is one of the healthiest things you can do in life, especially at a medium-low doses like 20g. I'm assuming higher doses make the nausea even more of a problem, is that right?

I capped it up in gelcaps, about .5 grams of powder in each capsul, took about 80-100, had a great time.

I like to refer to it not as a drug but as one of the many teacher plants--calling it a drug is one of the things that will help to get it illegal

--that said, I am glad you had a good time and agree with what you said! The nausea thing is subjective--but at higher doses purging will almost definitley happen

I always heard that 1 kg of fresh material is about a 400-500 mg mescaline trip. All depending on the way there grown ofcourse. You do not have to eat that much because a large part of that is core material which does not contain any alkaloids.

Hey Mindzeye, are the chips consumed in the same matter as the powder? Very good comment about the "drug" reference... I don't do drugs, i just use Cannabis, Lotus, Mescaline, Dagga, Calea, Kava, etc.... drugs scare me.

from what I hear the chips are easier to down. I have some to try and I will be doing some tomorrow night. :-)

yeah you got the right idea bro. Outside camping :-). I cant wait to do that. I just bought a tent a few weeks ago and I will be going soon and I have my party favors all ready. No alcohol though :-). Just torch, Salvia and maybe ahya and maybe weed.

Harmonic, i work at a summer camp which is why I haven't been on the boards much lately, no TV/internet. I work outside Alllll summer and get paid to go hiking and live in a tent, i LOVE it :)! If there's one thing to say "god bless" too, it's the beautiful nature we're destroying.

damn you think you could hook me up with a job like that ? and I've never really experiemented with san pedro but I've heard good things bout it, My friends all bought an ounce and ate 50 grams each but I didnt do it cause I hadn't ever heard anything about it so I now I kinda regret not doing it when I had the chance, someone should send me 20 grams :)

Not to break your balls...but how does an ounce (28g) each come out to 50 grams a piece?
