15 years of pot

My name is richard i live in aplace called rochdale in england and started smoking weed at around the age ov 13 i am now 31 when i started smoking weed it was belived to be harmless well in my peers circle but the effects on me have been mental you dont know or notice what is happening to you as the effects are so slow the effects can stop you having a normal life as weed becomes part of you in fact every thing you do in life will involve skinning up £10 pounds a day for 17 years is a lot ov money £62050 has gone up in smoke you may say that i talk rubish and belive there is nothing wrong with weed its top its harmless as i once did but do you realy know its effects espesaly in relationships some more long term users will know the word PARANOID this is what will happen this message is for the young and people who are stoned enough to belive they are not doing them selves any harm if you do enjoy a spliff modaration is the key please lisen to me before your life goes up in smoke too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know the risk's involved in smoking,
Mentally, Physically, and lawfully.
Fact of the matter is, Smoking normal fags does more damage than cannabis ever will.
Lung cancer,Throat cancer,Mouth cancer,destruction of lungs,a nasty smell,damages male fertility, etc
I know them all.
Given the choice of smoking weed, or smoking tobacco, I'd say weed is better for you, not to mention the fact that theres 100's of man made chem's in tobacco (unless you have rolling tobacco)
Fact of the matter is, your presumably, someone with a very low self esteem and also have a lack of will.
Put simply, there is no physical addiction to cannabis, but there is to tobacco.
So why couldn't you stop puffing? You was searching for something to make you forget, to get you up to the top again, to put a smile on your face.
Clearly this was your downfall. Why presume this is ours?
I haven't had any weed in the past 6 - 8 months, yeah I'd like some, but I'm not bothered, I'll have some when I want.

the way i do it is i think if i werent smoking just now what would i be doing and if the other thing i would be doing is better i do that instead it depends on the person you can incorporate weed into your life without it taking over if your wise enough ie. im gonna plan to go camping with my mates in a few weeks im going to take some weed and shrooms and camp next to a lake this will be fun as hell i think. i would probably be doing this even if i didnt have weed so thats how i am incorporating it into my life and i havnt smoked in almost a week well..4 days and im not botherd atall i just find that i get stressed alot easier when i dont apart from that its all good

I think the only thing that can really get harmed is lungs but besides that marijuana is a natural thing. Everything is bad when it is not done in moderation. Just my two cents.

I feel for you dude but I have to disagree with you on this,because I have been tokin for a quarter of a century and am still in full control of all my faculties, I know that I am just one, but it doesn't affect everyone in the same way.
Mental illness can be adversly affected by any drug that works on the psyche, thats why Seroxat works for some and not for others.
I agree that the sensible option about anything in life is preferable if you want to live a long and healthy life, moderation is the key.

But what it comes down to is simple individuality, we are all different.

Well, I live in the UK too, and you have to be ignorant to not know this.

Regardless of whether smoking causes cancer, the 2 are now hand in hand,

You may think I'm paranoid, but in all honesty, if it was as clean cut as smoking gives you cancer, then nobody would do it, but then there are people who smoke 60 a day, for 50 years, and are fine.
Then there are those, who never smoke, and die of cancer.

In conclusion though, yes, I'll bet my house, that cannabis will be claimed to be responsible for causing diseases in 20 years time.

i'm 28 and have been smoking for 13 years or so
at 24 i started my own business, struggled at first as all start-ups do
now 4 years later i make a very comfortable living
bought a modest house at 26 by myself and for myself, my wife, and my child
i grow my own to use (never sell my babies) and give some to a close circle of friends
i'm in the best shape of my life physically and mentally (non-tobacco user)
cannabis helps me with relaxation and back pain

point is...i have been very successful and the notion that cannibis ruins your life whether you are noticing it or not is assinine, you know if your doing the right thing or not and what your priorities are. people can ruin their lives with bad choices they make. i choose to smoke after the day is done and my work has been completed. nothing is more satisfying to me than sitting down and smoking a joint...and realizing i have done all i could to this day, to help my family and help my business. i agree with the moderation comments...you have to be in control of the choices you make and accept the consequences of those decisions. all i can say is, keep on smoking, but take care of your responsibilities before you do...it makes smoking that much more enjoyable.

Just adding my 2 cents.... I have been smoking for over 25 years now and I smoke everyday. I have gone periods of time without smoking but personally I just like the peacefull sence it brings. As for being lazy and not getting things done, well that is a lack of self control and allowing pot to run your life.

I work full time in technical support and I can tell you being buzzed at work sure helped me stay mellow and not blow up on some of the stupidest people in the world. As for being parainoid, you should have gotten over that the first year of smoking, know it's not real and don't give into it.

I will take smokers over drinkers any day of the week. Smokers are generally peacefull people, drinkers loose all self control, the personallity changes are terrible and just how absolutly stupid people are who are drunk.... I can show you thousands of articles on a drunk driver killing someone.... please tell me how many stories are there of someone who smoked a joint. Also, please tell me who gets into more fights for no reason at all, definitly not a smoker. I enjoy smoking a couple of joints with friends and getting into some really deep discussions... try that drunk with a group of people, the intelligent thing that will come out of that is who can blow the biggest fart fires.

Yes, you can have pot control your life but if you control it instead of the other way it can make looking at such an ugly world not quiet so ugly.

Well I am 28 yrs old with the same kind of snap when I was 13 and starded smoking. I don't have any children, and I have spent just as much money on all the other fun vices at one time or antother, now I stick to my pot, might go out for a beer once a week, but my point is (and I am sure has been said already) I guess it is all in your situation, I make pretty good money, and the little I do spend on pot don't hurt me a bit so I will gladly have a big old buff for you!
