They do inspections in apartments? Shit now I have to re-plan and try to dish out some cash for a fuckin' house :mad:.
Im sure every complex is different. How would any of us know? Ask your landlord.

I lived in the same apartment for 17 years here in southern california, aside from when we asked them to put in new carpet, put some new paint up, or fix this or that, they never came in our house. Just change your deadbolt if youre worried, if they ask why you changed it, ask why they were trying to get into your house. If they knock when youre home, dont answer, thatll give you time to relocate whatever you need to for the time being. Honestly I wouldnt trip out too much, like I said, socal city for 17 years, they never came, now im in a condo, soooooo much better:thumbsup:
Upon signing my lease I was able to state whether or not someone would need to contact me before entering my apartment. So unless someone asked me personally, they could kindly fuck off.
Some places are open door policy and some are closed door policy depends where ur at and what you signed to on the paper's you filled out when you moved in. Most open door policy's do a walk through once a year.
Laws govern this area as do apartment policies.
My land lord is a company; thus they are more professional. This means they come once every 6 months and check everyones fire alarms and such. There are also new carpets every two or three years. Stuff like that.
They can also come in to check on water leaks or other "emergency" type items at will with no prior notice...
By law if it is not an emergency, I have a right to a 24 hour notice before they can enter to inspect. That is enough time to hide shop; or at the very least to start apartment shopping. haha
Our inspector comes every 6 months to check smoke detectors but depending on where you live state law may be different. They have to give 24 hour notice though.
