Everybody that thinks the US has a fucked up political system needs to read this

Tehran, Iran, Jan. 07 â?? An Iranian court has sentenced a teenage rape victim to death by hanging after she weepingly confessed that she had unintentionally killed a man who had tried to rape both her and her niece.

The state-run daily Etemaad reported on Saturday that 18-year-old Nazanin confessed to stabbing one of three men who had attacked the pair along with their boyfriends while they were spending some time in a park west of the Iranian capital in March 2005.

Nazanin, who was 17 years old at the time of the incident, said that after the three men started to throw stones at them, the two girlsâ?? boyfriends quickly escaped on their motorbikes leaving the pair helpless.

She described how the three men pushed her and her 16-year-old niece Somayeh onto the ground and tried to rape them, and said that she took out a knife from her pocket and stabbed one of the men in the hand.

As the girls tried to escape, the men once again attacked them, and at this point, Nazanin said, she stabbed one of the men in the chest. The teenage girl, however, broke down in tears in court as she explained that she had no intention of killing the man but was merely defending herself and her younger niece from rape, the report said.

The court, however, issued on Tuesday a sentence for Nazanin to be hanged to death.

Last week, a court in the city of Rasht, northern Iran, sentenced Delara Darabi to death by hanging charged with murder when she was 17 years old. Darabi has denied the charges.

In August 2004, Iranâ??s Islamic penal system sentenced a 16-year-old girl, Atefeh Rajabi, to death after a sham trial, in which she was accused of committing â??acts incompatible with chastityâ?�.

The teenage victim had no access to a lawyer at any stage and efforts by her family to retain one were to no avail. Atefeh personally defended herself and told the religious judge that he should punish those who force women into adultery, not the victims. She was eventually hanged in public in the northern town of Neka.

Ok well i'd say theres a giant difference between getting beat up for no reason, and getting hung because some dude tried to rape you and you defended yourself and killed him in the process

countrys like iran, taran, lebanon, they have a slightly different legal system then we do. It's worked for the past 5,000 years so why fuck with it?

We destroy something which is'nt rightfully ours, my aunt's b/f's obbssed with war, and his 8 year old son (my aunts son also) loves war/guns/tanks/killing's ect and it pisses me off that he's raising his son that way.

He's still a little but to young to be telling the "Major Payne" style bedtime war stories. All little kids like guns and war, because they are unable to understand what it really means.

thats definitely some fucked up shit right there...hanging a girl for trying to protect herself from getting raped.....you would think people would have more sense than hanging someone

He wanted my cousin (older cousin, known him all my life and im pretty close to him) to go into the army because he thought it would neaten him up and make him a proper man. My aunt's b/f's not a bad guy, but i just don't like what he believes in.

but it happens here just not as extreme, i know a girl who was walking home late one night 3 men in a car try and call her towards them and when one of them tries to pull her throught the window she kicked the car and threw a stone at the window and the car sped off - when she reported it to the police she got charged with criminal damage for the damage to the car.

Actually she was hanged for being raped. â??Acts incompatible with chastityâ?� not murder. It happens in a few places in the world as horrible as it is.

Hey what are you gonna do?? Some people are just brainwashed into beleiving the governments and societies ideas are law. Like his idea that the military will help him become a "man" so to speak. It's all garbage the only hope is for the youth to see through the smoke a mirrors early enough in life to understand individualism and how crucial it is to becoming all that you can be. The government and society keeps trying to rope kids in from a younger age into these ways of thinking that prevent individual thought or repress it, because they say that it's wrong or bad or a sin. This creates a army of thoughtless worker bees called citizens that work everyday and do things a specific way because thats the so called right way.

The girl who killed that scumbag should get a 20 lb. medal and a college scholarship.

Nations, such as Iran, that have state-supported insanity to this degree are a threat to the world. I remember when the Ayatollah took hostages. We should have invaded them right then and there, and put another "Shah" back in power.

I'm 15 and i don't believe anything they say. Some people at my school think im full of shit when i say the goverment is'nt here to help us live better lives.
