K, here's my problem...

**I know it's sorta long, but please read this guys, I'd really appreciate it**

I've been in the system for about a year now, originally started with a minor paraphenelia charge. I live in JOHNSON COUNTY, Kansas, home of probably the gayest most fucked up court system in the US. I got 9 months of Diversion for that. I had a really bad relationship with my mom at the time, and about 5 months into the diversion, after a bad fight, I "ran away" (left the house to cool off, but she viewed it as running away), and after I came home a couple of hours later, found out she had called my diversion officer and told her the whole thing. They revoked my diversion, placing me on a new 12 month PROBATION.

The costs of all this have been fucking extreme (lawyer fees, UAs, costs of diversion, etc), and my family was fucking poor in the first place. Now, we have almost literally no money to spare. My dad's a deadbeat that moved out a while ago, and my mom's unemployed, so it's hard to put food on the table, let alone pay for all this bullshit. And NOW, my brother got 9 months diversion, $500 fine, $200 lawyers fees for WRITING HIS NAME ON A SKATEPARK RAMP IN SHARPIE, about 1 inch by 2 inches in diameter. We could have cleaned it off in 5 minutes with Lysol and a steel wool brush. We can't pay for all this shit, and we're getting extremely sick of driving 30 minutes (the closest place they offer) for all this gay counseling and shit, all because of something every teenager experiments with.

I could go on and on, I have a million stories about how fucked up this system is, but anyways, here's my question. After finding out about the thing with my brother, my mom freaked. What she, and myself are wondering, is what would happen if we just...left. Moved to some random place and just basically said "Fuck it". How hard would they try to track us down? Would they even bother? How would they be able to? Basically, what would happen if we did that.

if these are not felony charges and they are not then you could just leave and be ok--misdemeanors are not extradited to other states, you can call your county sherriffs office to ask them what there extradtion limit is--usually it will be something like 300 miles--so just move however far away plus some and dont go back!--and after 7 years, the warrant--if any is issued--will go away---I say move if your mom is cool enough to do it!

So I wouldn't have any problems, say, applying for jobs or anything like that with my real name and social security number? No nasty little surprises down the road?

Also, would this be a 300 mile RADIUS around my city?

No problem, but dude...stay out of the system. Be as un-sketch as possible, you really do not want to get involved. Maybe (hopefully) it's different in other areas, but this flat out sucks. I can either a) stay here and put up with this gay ass probation, not being able to toke, have to be home by 8:30 on weekdays, 10:30 on weekends, not being able to sleep over at friends house, and all the other shit probation entails, but staying with my girlfriend who I love more than anything, or b) leave to some random place, without my girlfriend (my mom is pushing for this)...

What the fuck do I do :(

yeah--you can work and do whatever you want--just stay away from your counties radius--call them to find out what it is--they will tell you, it is ok to ask them--
I have warrants in other states but they are misdemeanors and so it doesn't matter--I have even been arrrested where I live now and the other stuff has not been an issue. Only felonies travel nation wide.

I say leave and if your g-friend is old enough to take with you then take her--but be realistic and know that almost definitely you will not be with her forever anyway--take it from my own experience--I have done a lot for girls in my day and not one of them am I still with--you grow and learn

but about the probation -- dont worry about it and just leave--at least as an adult it doesnt matter--I have never been in trouble when I was underage
ps--if you collect blotter sheets like in your avatar I have lots of them that I sell

to be more clear the radius is by county, not city--so whatever the extradition limit is for your county--each one is different--
I say it is safer to travel to another state--go up to humboldt county and start over--you would love it if you haven't been there--Northern california

I wanna move so bad, a place like Northern California or basically anywhere but here would be perfect, I just don't wanna leave her...and I know I probably won't be with her forever, but I still love her a lot...

dude--I have felt the pain of love and have even hid my girl from the cops to be with me when I was younger--probably your age--I say take her if your mom will let you and if she will go and pack and move this week if you can--all we have is today--we are not promised tomorrow! ps--what is her age? 17 is legal in just about any state--16 is in some states
--I do have to say I think school is important though--so at least do the GED

Heres the thing once your in the system the bastards got you. So spend the money on the first time instead of more on the second time. Also instead of paying fines and shit take the jail time county jails aren't that bad.

You're probably gonna disregard what I've said about love just 'cause we're young, but we're both 16...I don't know how comfortable I'd be asking her to leave her friends and home to be with me...

Love is powerful--It should never be disregarded if you have it!

As someone thats been in the system for along time, my advice is to stay put. Your Moms got you into some of this, she has to understand you dont call the popo's, period. Sounds like she will be right back at it once you get settled into a new place. Your only 16 do your two years at home then all your probation should end, then get on that bad moitorscooter and ride, never look back. On the other hand your charges will not follow you if you abscond, so stay or go?

Instead of acting like a child, why don't you learn to take your punishment like a man would and stop fucking up life for your mother who's trying to support you and your brother? Why you felt the need to be so hostile I don't know, but...

1) The one thing I did wrong was have a pipe on me when I was walking around in an area that had no curfew, at about 11 PM...I didn't even know it was on me, but I fucked up. I shouldn't have had it on me. I'll accept that. That's the ONE thing I've done wrong. How the fuck was I supposed to know she'd call the police
2) OK, he shouldn't have tagged the ramp, are you seriously saying that that's $500 in damages? You can't be serious

4) I have/am getting a fucking education. I have a tested IQ or 163, am getting pretty good grades, and I'm in the Gifted program.

Oh yeah, you got in this big fight with your mom and ran away. I'm sure she told you not to leave and you bailed anyway, right? When your mom tells you not to leave the house, stay the fuck in. When you're an adult, working for your money, living on your own and paying your own bills you can make all of the adult decisions you want. So you ask what you did wrong? 1) I first smoked about 3 months into my freshman year of high school. I never had to keep it a secret from my mom, before I got caught I even smoked with her once, no secrets. About the "running away", we got into an argument (I guess that makes me a fuck up too), and I left the house to cool off. She didn't stop me. I do have a job, I do more shit around the house than she does, I already give her half of my check. Oh, and please try to find me a kid who's never disrepected his mom before. I have 3 boys so i can relate to the trouble. My 23 yr old is incarcerated, probation violation, but it started when he was 14 ( he has ADHD) if any 1 cares, me and my husband have helped him numerous times, its up to him now.... has been for a while, I think he needs a re hab, not jail. M y17 yr old is a junior in HS, he is lazy big time, hasnt gotten arrested (yet?) has tried weed, I found it in his room, but hes had a job since he was 14 , same job, its just that he is extremely lazy and HE is numbero uno , in his eyes, what do you guys think? I also have a 13 yr old son. The 17 yr old is the only 1 that dosent have ADHD.

3) I don't know the laws in your state but I've seen juges go after parents for kids not doing what they're supposed to be doing like cutting school even so, if you have those kind of judges you might be putting your mom at risk, even if it's her idea.
