Where Do You Stand On Homosexuality?

I come from a rather predudice town and a majority of stoners and people here highly dislike homosexuals and as result there aren't a hell of of a lot of em around here. Another reason i ask is because i myself am attracted to men, and woman. I often have trouble comprehending why some people can possibly hate something that not only doesn't concern them, but that they no nothing about.

And something that really gets me is the fact that it makes very little difference. So a guy has sex with other guys, or girls having sex with girls. The relationship between a gay/les couple is essentially the same as a straight couples relationship.

Kind of reminds of beer. So many choices, and makes so little difference. If theres whisky in front of me, i say bring it on. If its vodka, i throw up.

What do you think about such matters?

i think people hate what they dont' understand... all most of them see (well the ones that did hate it for their own reasons and not just the sterotype that seems to be imprinted on peoples mind due to society that just says gay is bad) is something not "natural" (although i dont' see anywhere written on our ding dongs "for use in pussy only" or on our assholes "for exit only") i don't think anyone of them really realize it's not their choice who they are attracted to... i think that they think that every single person is born attracted to the opposite sex...

I honestly don't care about homosexuality. I think people care way too much about it.

oh yea, a couple more things...
1. racism is generally looked down upon by almost everyone... which is being prejiduce, yet... gay-hating is very widely tollerated, when in essence it's the same thing... judging someone by a trait they cannot control...
2. i've noticed, alot, that most of the guys that say a guy doing another guy in the butt is sick, are highly into anal sex with girls..... i wonder if any of them have ever stopped to think that the asshole is completely the same on the inside...
3. i think anal sex is disgusting... but that's my prefrence, i don't think anyone that does someone else in the butt is a disgusting person, and if that's what they want, then so be it, doesn't bother me one bit... it's just me, i could never perform that act, if i were to try to stick my dick in a butt (male or female) it would instantly go limp, cuz like i said, the thought of it is a total turn off to me... every time i think that if i were to stick it in a butt, it'd come out with a dingleberry looking up at me... and no matter how "cleaned" it was i'd still be afraid that'd happen..so i could just never do it.

It's kinda interesting-- they've done some studies with rats, and discovered that the rates of homosexuality among the rats went up as overpopulation in the cages increased. So not only does homosexuality occur in nature, it seems that our modern-day world is more conducive to creating it, too!!

It also explains why there are so many homosexuals in big cities like Chicago or New York.

I think one of the factors in homophobia is just confusion of signals. Some people dont know what to make of a homosexual. Is he a man? Is he a woman? Is he going to come on to me? If I like him does that mean I am queer? yata yata yata - a lot of social interaction is just sending small signals that reassure or offer something and thats all very tightly woven with our sexuality. Homosexuality complicates all this and people find themselves outside their comfort zones and get hostile. Not passing any judgements just an observation on how things work

I wouldn't jump to apply the "overpopultated rats" theory to human beings. Look at India, and China, etc. They have a large population, and their rates of homosexuality are probably about the same as less crowded places. I'm not justifying the population explosion - I just wonder if it has anything to do with people's sexual orientation.

Gay people have traditionally gone to San Francisco, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, etc. - and many of the gay residents of these cities are not from there originally.

Breukelen, you make valid points. I gave the rat example simply to show that homosexuality is not "unnatural" as some people claim. Whether or not the overpopulation thing applies to humans or not is speculation. Perhaps homosexuality is more common, perhaps it's just less hidden, and perhaps there is simply more media coverage.

Good point on the cities thing, too. I agree that most residents in such areas are not originally from there, I just find it interesting that homosexuals tend to congregate in heavily populated areas, as if they were somehow drawn to them, hearkening back to the lab test anecdote. I meant that comment as nothing more than that--anecdotal.

a good idea of why, is because gay people are outnumbered by straight (that is a fact) so they move to heavily populated cities becasue they know they stand a better chance finding another gay person that they are compatible with there, then if they were in a lowly-moderately populated city...

even if straight-gay were equal, anyone would stand a better chance finding "the one" in a heavily populated area, than a smaller city...

At one time, promiscuous behavior in the gay urban ghettos was the a trend (but NOT with all of them I'm sure). AIDS has curtailed that. The old "bathhouses" are all gone: Bette Midler got a huge start entertaining the patrons of these places in New York, c. early 1970â??s. Barry Manilow was her bandleader at the Continental Baths in the old Ansonia Hotel. Melba Moore, Peter Allen, Cab Calloway, The Manhattan Transfer, John Davidson, Wayland Flowers and many other made the place very successful. There were "straight" places, such as Plato's Retreat, also. All of them, as far as I know, were closed down by the Health Department. I remember "massage parlors" in Times Square, and they are gone also. You can get anything you want here, for a price, but itâ??s no longer out in the open.

P.S. I didn't visit Plato's, or engage in ANY of these activities, lol. I never believed that I'd get AIDS from a woman, but even before that I never wanted to risk getting the clap, syphilis, or herpes. I DID attend a live peep show once - you had to feed tokens in your booth to keep watching. This was really seedy - the girls would stick their body parts (for extra $) through the partition for guys to enjoy. I was thinking about this yesterday when I was stoned and I thought about how I don't like homosexuals yet I'm not gonna go beat the shit out of one because he or she is gay. Then I got thinking about how alot of people who say whatever floats your boat wouldn't care if they where friends with a gay or whatnot but would have a extreme hate against pedophiles. Well pedophiles are just looking out for what they find attractive shouldn't that be aloud? You might say well even though it may be consensual with the kid that kid will probably have a fucke up life later on because they in fact didn't really want to have sex with a 40 year old man. The same thing could happen to a gay except he couldof been confused sexualy and ended up doing something he will in fact later regret. The same could happen to some one straight. So it would take a perfect world where everybody is ok with everything in order for some one to possibly be sure no one would be hurt in the act of choosing who to have sex with. Since this perfect world will never happen you would think you would want to do what is the safest which would be everyone grab a partner get married and have a amnish life. Now since the world has been *tainted* in a way alot of people could never go to that amnish life because they have seen what they find better and cannot drop it. So you have people doing what they see fit and people saying what that person sees fit is bad and you got law whether it is written or not written. Their is a ton more to it but im tired of writing and im slightly stoned so im not sure if it is written well enough to make sense. Peace

I'm a Christian,who believes that homosexuality is a sin,that it is contrary to the Laws of Nature and is deviant. How can this type of thing be "normal" if everybody was suddenly to become "Gay" what would happen to our race?

It is a deviancy of natural such as growing six toes and nine fingers- would this also become normal if it were to prevail on masse?

if two people are gay and together, there is no one being hurt or anything like that.

Have you ever seen the sort of repression kids build up after having accidently walked in on their (straight) parents having sex? I have met some people with issues, suffice to say.

Personally I think the most important thing is for the parents to give their children a proper context to understand. Having said that, who cares whether the family meets the nuclear model or not? I'd rather see children raised by two fathers in a loving home than not be adopted.

ok.. this post made me think of something (and it' snot directed at you, it's directed at the christains) if, god is against homosexuality... and the damn bible says in it "do not judge, fore ye will be judged as well" why doy ou christians so openly bash gays? your book says not to judge, which would even include gays... if you really believe in your god.. then stop voting against gay marriage, stop openly bashing gays and let "your god" deal with them as he (bible) says he will, you're not god, you're not related to god, you have no right to judge as if you were god.
