Have you seen it? Do you plan to go see it?
i would see it... but it just has no appeal to me...
No appeal and I refuse to vote
Yeah it didnā??t for me either. Thatā??s why it was the last of the 5 movies up for best picture I saw. And even with all the hype etc, I was just amazed!! The fact that you have no interest in it will just make you like it that much more.Quote:

Itā??s just so well done... The acting so superb.Quote:

Yeah but that makes no sense because everyone falls into either the "I donā??t want to see it because itā??s about gay cowboys" category or the "I only like action/mainstream movies" category. I donā??t think there is anyone that could say they like intellectual movies but does not want to see Brokeback..Quote:

So why would you refuse to vote?!?
If you are bothered by the fact thatā??s itā??s about gay cowboys why donā??t you just admit it?? What is so hard about that?
If you think you are into intellectual movies but donā??t want to see Brokeback then I would say you have some problems. And I would say if you did see Brokeback you would be pleasantly surprised by just how great of movie it is! Your homophobic fears were much to do about nothing!
:pimp:

I don't want to see it not because it has gay cowboys in it, but because the genre and style just doesn't appeal to me. Not my type of movie.
My type of movie...
Indie / Thug / Documentary / Sudodrama / Drama / Mystery / Thriller / Cult / Action of course..
The movie just doesn't appeal to me.
And it has nothing to do with homophobia, I am far from homophobic.
I have nothing against gay people being as I'm bi...in an ungay manner.
So the 4th option is for you even if you wont admit it:thumbsup:Quote:

Maybe if there was an option that just said "I have no desire to see it"
Instead of subliminally bashing people by giving choices ONLY
*for* your decision to see it.
You must be Republican.
So why do you have no desire to see it? Do you also not want to see "Munich", "Capote", "Crash", "Good Night and Goodluck"?? Because if the answer is yes you dont want to see them then you should vote #4. If you do want to see ANY of them then your answer is #3, you dont wantto see gay cowboys.Quote:

Exception is "Crash". Its so mainstream that it would fall under #4.
I have desires to see those movies. THIS particular movie does not appeal to me not because it has gay cowboys in it, but because I have read reviews, I have read the summary of the movie, and THE CONTENT doesn't appeal to me.
Everybody can't have the same tastes, and trying to push it on people is just crap.
What about Comglomerate Troy...Jun Dix Fun...Do you want to see those movies?
Or wait wait...Do you want to see MArch of Penguins?
I guess maybe not you know, because it has penguins in it, and not simple because you don't want to watch it. (Not saying you don't want to just giving a nonsense excuse as you are doing)
Plot Summary for
Brokeback Mountain (2005)
A raw, powerful story of two young men, a Wyoming ranch hand and a rodeo cowboy, who meet in the summer of 1963 sheepherding in the harsh, high grasslands of contemporary Wyoming and form an unorthodox yet life-long bond--by turns ecstatic, bitter and conflicted.

The new film from Academy Award-nominated director Ang Lee. An epic love story set against the sweeping vistas of Wyoming and Texas, Brokeback Mountain tells the story of two young men - a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy - who meet in the summer of 1963, and unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love....
Sounds like a chick flick I MIGHT watch with my g/f, but not on my own...no thanks.
LOL dude just quite while you are behind! You donā??t want to see it because its about gay cowboys and that it!! You are just too... I donā??t really know... pound to admit it!?!Quote:

You are turned off by the fact that it is about gay cowboys which is fine but the fact that you wont just admit it is really funny!:D
Um..thanks for telling me why I don't want to see it jackass. I don't give a fuck that gay cowboys are in it and the fact that you just can't let that go makes me believe you may have some underlying issues with homosexual(s)...just drop it, because I'm not the one behind...it's you.Quote:

I don't go around wanting to watch Romance / Love movies because they aren't MY THINGS. I could give two shites and two fucks if it was a girl and a guy or two guys, or two girls, I wouldn't have an appeal to it. Just like I don't have an appeal to most movies that are released.
If Ang Lee and other great actors made a movie about subjects I have no interest inā?¦ About basket wavers, about interior decorators, about dirt farmers!! I would still want to fucking see them badly!!! Because I love good movies!! And I know great directors and great actors can make a great movie about ANY subject. The fact that you donā??t agree with what I just said means you are #4!!!
BTW it's all opinion, so just because I don't agree with your opinion don't get mad and upset BASERSX. Just agree to disagree and move on, stop trying to convince somebody of something they are not going to be convinced of. And stop throwing accusations.
No, if they made a movie on a topic that interested me I would want to watch it.Quote:

So stop trying to force ideas upon people, you watch movies simply because an actor or director is participating in it. I watch movies because the subject matter appeals me, two totally different views. So just, take your opinion, and do like you do with your asshole..Wipe it clean and leave it to yourself.
I wont, but I will forever call you #4 which is my only point. You are a #4 but some how does not like that classification. Even though that is what you are!!Quote:

I designed this poll with no grey areas! Everyone falls into one of the 4 options. There are no exceptions!
No, I am not #4 but you can classify me as whatever you wish, this poll really means nothing. The only reason I'm engaging in this half ass debate is because nobody is online and I'm bored.Quote:

Not your taste makes you a #3... Why cant you just admit it?Quote:

Really, look at this logically. Unless there is a possible other film, done differently about gay cowboys that you would want to see then how can you not vote for #3?
You say the movie does not interest you, that fine!!! Then why the hell didnt you just vote for #3?
I would like to see Midnight Cowboy...it's about gay cowboys.
Midnight Cowboy is fucking GREAT!!! Dustin Hoffman is so great in that!!! You have not seen that movie?? So why would you want to see it and NOT Brokeback Mountain?? I have seen both and both are just absolutely fantastic! I could not pick one over the other!Quote:

I figure maybe bigger letters will let you see clearly that your reasoning for people not wanting to see this movie, is not everybody's reasoning. You have to defend yourself because you think it's the greatest movie, and anything saying otherwise would be a hit on your opinion, thus your ego. So simply not wanting to see the movie would just hurt you. It has nothing to do with option number 3 or 4.
Because, it seems you WANT to watch the movie simply because there are gay cowboys in it. The content of Midnight Cowboy seems more interesting then some boring ass love sob story.Quote:

Well except "goodnight and Good Luck..
I just pooed my pants.
ownage
And I did watch Goodnight and Good Luck!! Very closely! I just donā??t think it deserved to be nominated over Syriana!
Yeah, just go vote for #3 and own up. You cant get past the suspect matter and see what an incredible film it is like a lot of people. No shame in that but just admit it and donā??t come off saying you "refuse to vote"....Quote:

So again, you either have seen this movie, want to see it, donā??t want to because its about gay cowboys, or just donā??t have an appreciation for GREAT movies!!
I will repeat myself, this poll leaves NO grey areas! EVERYONE falls into one of the 4 options. Its not possible to fall into a 5th option! Why is that so hard to understand or admit?!?!
Seen it, it was alright I guess. Does it deserve to win awards? I guess considering the other crap it's up against.
Here's the real question......
Will I feel compelled to watch it again if I see it on cable in 6 months? Nope
It's really not that great, once you've watched it.... meh
Let me just clear this up. Iā??m not into love stories as a rule, not at all. But to say you donā??t like any love stories or to clam all love stories are chick flicks would immediate put you into #4!!
Some of the best movies in the world, are love stories! I would not try to claim any subject matter would make or break a movie! Like I said a good director, writer, and actors could make a great movie about dirt farmers!! The subject should not be an issue!! And if the subject is an issue for you that means you are a #4!!!
If you like a lot of great movies like Casablanca, Taxi Driver, Godfather I and II, Citizen Cane, Blade Runner etc. etc. etc. but donā??t want to see Brokeback then that means you are a #3!!
There are no grey areas in this poll!
Other crap?!?! You Thought Capote and Munich were crap?!?!? WTF?!? Are you kidding???Quote:

Your a #4.
love is an emotion, has nothing to do with intellect, and yes you can still be a movie buff!
yes you can be into great movies and not have seen it, how are you going to know if a movie is great based on a preview! and others opinions are just that! so if the preview doesnt appeal to you, and you dont go see it, theres chance that you might miss a really good movie!Quote:
