Sucks?
IMO yes. I found nothing that I couldn't find from Limewire except for the fact that downloading was slower, and that it took a while to get used to.
Why would anybody use this?

i usually download entire albums at a time. soulseek is great for that. limewire isn't has organized for us (me) anal retentive people.
I download entire albums on Limewire just the same as you could on SoulSeek. I found SoulSeek randomly generating results that had NOTHING to do with the keywords I was searching. I did like the feature of searching through rooms and genres, connect directly to users.
whatever. i can't even defend soulseek right now because it's being a piece'o shit. everytime i try to log on it instantly crashes.Quote:

Fuck soulseek. Soulseek is shit, it looks ugly, the downloads are slow, the search is shit, and its just plain crap. Limewire is better
fuck limewire and it's mainstream downloads! it's an evil program, built to poison and curse music listeners everywhere. soulseek, man...soulseek. there's no other way to go, if you can go.
Soulseek has always served me well. It's good for trance and synth. No spyware!!! Limewire is bad for that alone.
<3 Tasha
I get no spyware. If you know what you're doing you can easily get rid of it.
I like soulseek because they have a lot of rare and live stuff that I havent been able to find other places, also I like downloading whole albums.
Which you can gladly do on Limewire!Quote:

it depends on what you look for. for full albums from obscure punk/hardcore and jazz groups, it's not bad, but for almost anything else, it sucks.Quote:

I fucking hate it when kids say oh yeah I love a band and they only have a few selected songs they could only get because thats all that was on limewire.Fuck them they don't know shit about the band or its music except the 3 to 9 songs they got from limewire.
Soulseek allows you to get the whole cd.I like that, IMO.
Not to mention the fact that half the shit I got from soulseek you could not find on limewire.
Please don't try to defend that because I used to have both programs and limewire didn't have shit on soulseek for underground music.I'm also in a band and everytiem were about to cover a underground 80s hardcore band song that only made one 7" and broke up, limewire couldn't find it.
So fuck limewire.
Thank you.Quote:

I havent had any probs with Limewire, its fast realiable and Ive been able to find everything I wanted! I'll have to try Soulseek out to. The spyware aint a prob on Limewire for me!
Peace
Buddy
Fuck soul seek D.l.s are slow even after you forward the ports. Limewire and bittorrent for life. \\m/
I like Limewire, but there is one thing I hate about it: I can't seem to find any music I like. Even well known bands like Slayer I can get only about 8 of them to actually download. We have a fast comp. and all but I find the selections are hard to get.
How do you download an entrie album from there? I'm not a picky person. I like whatever song by that artist. If it sounds good, I'll plop it on. Always on random too, so I never know what song comes next.
Peace
no matter how much you like a certain song, no matter how much you listen to this one song--doesn't mean that you shouldn't discover new music. i guess what i'm trying to say here is, by finding new songs you like and bands it further hieghtens your perspective on music and life.
When I want to find new bands I use other methods to see if I like them..then I do this thing called going out and buying the CD.
Use alternative methods, just because OMG soulseek has SMALL TIME bands that are "underground" doesn't mean shit. And Limewire isn't mainstream downloading, it's whatever people have on their computers.
I can find NEARLY any band on Limewire and download it within seconds. There's this thing called LIMEWIRE PRO, 19.95 it cost me that's it, the price of maybe 2..or even 1 CD, and I've downloaded nearly 300,000 songs while I've had this subscription. Sure all you .. OMG I'm too cheap to pay for music people aren't going to find shit or get good downloads because, well, they want you to buy their product. And I can't blame them, it's time for people to stop being so fucking cheap and paying for music. After all, how would you like it if you didn't get paid for you job?
Thank you.
Its ok I'll be downloading what I want for free :).Quote:

All these are done so you can hear their music, and so they can live and still make music.
Verbal Abuse and State of Alert
SOA was henry rollin's previous band.
Actually I never thought of that.Quote:

I don't blame you, If everybody supported music then every musician would be filthy rich. I only buy CD's when it's above and beyond good listening.Quote:

Sorry I forgot about this thread until now...assuming your still around I'll answer.
Yeah I know all that stuff is out.A quick search on www.killfromtheheart.com can answer all those questions. Then theres ordering off the net, I see just d/l as alot easier.Cause I'm as hell not traveling out to Austin to get some good underground shit.
