Is there a world war brewing between Islam and Christianity?

I'm actaully starting to get kind of concerned about this. It seems more and more in both groups, yet again, muslims and christians don't understand a thing about each other but they all think they know everything about each other. Perhapse every so often a crusade or jihad is innevitable between the two groups, but I can't say I'm happy about it :( .

now this is only the extent of my knowledge, but what I've seen:

-first there's all the fighting between israel and palestinians, which strengthens the idea in the west that "they're all a bunch of primitive savages" as I've heard so many times from so many people.

- then the US refuses to pull its troups out of saudi arabia implanting the idea in the muslim world that the christians want to control them. oh, and plus there's the innitial war in Iraq, though I don't think that pissed off too many people as far as I know, considering what saddam did.

- then in retalliation for the troups in their holy land (as I understand it, the area was considered holy) we get the 9/11 attacks. of course as goes with western propogranda, it was an "unprovoked attack" and everybody is now firmly convinced muslims are all crazy guys with AK's screaming "Mumamad jihad!!!". not that such an attack on civilians was justified, but stupidity goes both ways. not to mention the muslims and even sikh's (which doesn't make sense, but ah well they're all "sand niggers" as I've heard them say) being beatn up in the streets.

- THEN, we see the invasion of Iraq, it turns out there are no WMD's, and now the whole muslim world sees this as a christian crusade against islam, and for some it is really. so, as one muslim high-priest said "mr.bush has awakened the spirit of jihad in our youth". what do you expect when people hear the anti-western propoganda, then have it confirmed by seeing their family and friends being blown to bits by the thousands?

- then we have these damn cartoons and all the muslims who want an excuse to riot and destroy, now have one. and lets face it, whether your muslim, christian, or a hockey fan, everybody loves a good excuse to riot, even if it's punishing a whole race of people for the actions of a single newspaper. and of course, now the western world sees a bunch of angry islamics smashing and burning, so we're all certain now that the ones we see in the news are the ones that represent EVERYBODY in that faith.

- and now we have Iran and it's nuclear weapons (at least in popular opinion), a terrorist group ruling israel, and the US blowing up a house in pakistan full of innocents in a "shoots first ask questions later" strategy.

So gee golly jiminy whilickers, it seems everybody is just full of good excuses to keep hating each other based on a wonderfull array of steryotypes. as my college history professor said "there's nothing people love more than to have a simple enemy with a single face". it's times like these i'm glad I'm buddhist, because I don't want anything to do with this whole mess. what do you think? will this just keep escallating till we have full blown modern day religious war throughout the planet? is there really a solution? we take a spaceship and go live with the people on the planet marglar and forget all this crap? I think humanity is doomed to eternal stupidity and simplicity in thought.

Anyone killing other people or participating in hate crimes in the name of god has a whole different thing coming to them when they die. Can you imagine thinking that when you die in the name of god, as is a suicide mission, or kill in the name of god (as in the damn war, and our CHRISTAIN leader) that you will be praised for it when you die. The middle easterns killing over their god actually believe that when they die they will be surrounded by women feeding them grapes by an oasis, for their good deeds. The problem is when children are brainwashed. Then you have the most dangerous weapon in the world. A fearless child who has been taught something like that.

Any group of people that cannot or will not co-exist peacefully is a false path.

All major religions have been hijacked at one time or another. Of course, the true Muslim religion is violent. They have been "convert or die" almost since the beginning. Remember we have never attacked them first. Also, I don't honestly remember the last time Isreal attacked anyone first either (might have to look back in biblical times and double check that).


Now I do think this is the next world war (I consider the cold war to be WW III). This one is freedom against tryanny. Remember we never attacked them.Remember our US history. We have never made a colony out of any country we have defeated in the field of battle. We have done a fair job of seperating the people from the leadership in enemy countries. We have always proceeded with a measure of grace and mercy after the war.

They been fighting for thousands of years, but now they have nukes. That the scary part about it. What next, the anti-christ?

Well on a happier note, we won't have to depend on them for oil much longer. The rest of the worlds oil supply is going to start to run dry and our entire economy will collapse....so maybe nobody will have enough money to create anymore to launch them. Can't say much for the ones that already exist, don't know what will happen to them.

I don't think there is an oil shortage to the point where we or our children need to worry about it. However, I do think we need to look at this as a national security issue. Allow drilling and refining of our own oil to carry us a for a few years while developing practical clean alternatives.

Actually, I just heard that Canada's oilfields are second only to Saudi Arabia, so the current prices aren't at all justified. but hey, we need to stop using that crap regardless.

the western world is a perfect reflection of the situations happening with those in power during the year 0 AD/BC.

Now whay exactly is it that it's so taboo to point to someone, or a group of people and say that their religion is causing the deaths of many people? Is it not the truth?

You will reply and say that these people are not true believers, or that they misinterpret their own religion... When a given religion claims infallibility, and claims to be the word of the one true god, it is by the same token completely incompatible with other religions, there's no way around it.

this war isnt new, its been christianity versus every other religion since the beginning of religion!! hate only happens when weak people think and speak, the intelligent dont get over run with foolish motives!!

I went to a lecture on this recently given by Dr. David Goodstein on this subject,

If the estimated amount of oil in the ground is correct (estimated by current drilling areas and frequency of new areas being discovered) then we will start seeing a decline in the amount of available oil within the next 5 years. But it is an esimate, so until it happens...

The problem is nothing can replace oil. Biofuel is to inefficent, wind is unpredictable, we've used up almost all the hydro electric possible, solar is limited and expensive. Were down to basicly Hydrogen cells and fusion and they still need many to decades of time to be developed.

So if we do run out of oil very soon our economy will collapse. Not to mention that as we continue to drill and use oil we make a significant impact on our global enviorment. We'll be looking at a major climate change sooner then what would occur naturaly.

The Hammas in Palestine IS a terrorist group, like Al-Quaida is In Pakistand and Afghanistan. Frankly though, this war is 0% about religion and 100% about politics. The problem is that religion and politics are interwined in the middle east so they use religion to justify their political actions/misactions. Christianity really has nothing to do with this, this is simply a political conflict between the west and the near east.

I've just started reading a book about the history of the Crusades and I'm starting to understand the issue more. You have to realize that once a hardcore Islamist has made up his mind it is nearly impossible to change, if at all, since you see, to that person, he is acting under the will of God, and there is simply no other way.

You have some valid points there but there's still much to be understood, like the history of western occupation in the middle east a century ago.

This is an issue that in my opinion can only be settled either by fighting (yes, this might be necessary eventually) or if the Muslim moderates in the world, especially leaders of muslim nations step up and support the west. There is much that needs to be changes in the way the near east is treated by the west but this is about Islamic extremism and the targeting (note: targeting, not killing) of innocent civillians, which has obviously got to stop.

The passifier "Marijuana" is the missing elemental round the world.,,thus the violent nature of $atan is brought about in us...the luxurious way of life has to change to a more natural one.
And we shouldn't overlook that the human body is also a source of enegry!
We haven't really tapped that yet...physical production of electricity, using dynamoes, and fly wheels!
Marijuana can help us forget our differences!
And bring us to the truth of things!
Filter, Food, renewable fuel, and medicines!...the perfect solution is to bring all the energy sources together!

As for the fighting, the cursades never ended according to the commonwealth...they want control of the world, and they are oppressing other nations, until they crack!...Bent Monopolies, and slanted economics!
That is what the war on drugs is doing...taking away their national natural product (Marijuana), and burning it with out tapping into the fire!
Wasted....especially when there is a big market for it in the westernized world!...the westernized world is the biggest consumer of Marijuana!
But they won't let that cat out of the bag...
Hypocrates...reseaching and growing it under wraps...while the world outlaws and oppresses others!
Here is where tensions can be relieved...and a fare market place could stimulate a better union between the different religious groups!
