I think valentine's day is overrated and the government's way (yet another) to force ideal's on the american people that some how spread thru-out the world, sadly into some nationalized bullshit.
BUT because I am slightly brainwashed by society I want to take my boyfriend out for food or something (maybe cook -gasp-) after smoking a blunt and making love, then smoke another blunt and make some more love. Flowers are nice, I guess; No candy, candy is depressing, lol, victoria's secret is hot tho :D Haha, nice zinnia.
My girl will get to first do my laundry, then she gets to wash the dishes(from the night before), then if shes lucky oral sex, on me.
it is not a special day for me and gf, cuz our all days are like valentines day(also more than it)

Since it ain't gonna happen, I was planning on keeping her first time smoking delayed, and then on the V-Day sharing as many bowls with her we can possibly toke, some good munchie food, actually watch the movies we've been meaning to watch, etc. (neither of us can drive, and weed doesn't mix with driving parents).

I like to do ol' Valentine's day up in style, in New York City: A candlelit dinner at a posh East Side eatery, front row seats at a hot Broadway show, and a romantic interlude, complete with fine French champagne, at a five-star Manhattan hotel.

Well restaraunts are typically jammed packed and the food isnt as good and it is noisy as hell. Im just not into the crowded areas myself.
You could start now by making reservations at a nice bed and breakfast in the country side or ocean side depending on where you live.
Hopefully one that has one of those old-style victorian bath tubs where she can slip in and you can sit on a chair and massage her shoulders while she relaxes. Be spontaneous and make it a surprise. Dont tell her your plan. Bring the supplies: portable cd player, relaxing music, candles, maybe some victorias secret bath stuff.
Go for a walk the next day in the country or the beach or where ever you end up.
Romance is fine for building soft sexual tension. YOu want something more.
Also giving gifts, compliements are fine but really dont build sexual tension.
Let the tension build for the next couple of weeks for better, more intense sex and let her initiate it to the point where she has that, (I want to stab you look in her eyes).
So you must be patient to let this tension build. And let her initiate sex. Women need this tension aspect to build. There are ways to build tension but too numerous to list here. But just holding back sexually to the point at which she wants it bad is one way. So tease her.

valentines day if for fools who buy into the corporate holiday, the day should be renamed to corporations are raking in millions off of moronic sappy fools day... seriously dont you think it would be much sweeter if a guy/girl got flowers/whatever for their significant other without them feeling obligated to or just because everyone else does it? seriously you shouldent have to have a day where you are supposed to be sweet, its supposed to happen everyday.
