Right now-I ain't seeing any advertisement banners and some of the smiley images are showing "cannot display media" red x's. I just thought that you might want to know,yer advertiser's might git a little upset if they don't see their ad's running.

Features like that rely heavily on javascript and how your template is designed. Upgrading message board software doesn't just magically make those things happen.

Hey Ron I was wondering why you donâ??t allow the use of [img] [/img] tags for linking pics? It would be really cool to be able to do that like you can on most other vBulletin boards. Of course I understand if you are not allowing them on purpose because some people abused their use or something but if not its would be really nice plus would keep people from having to upload pics that takes up your server space.

It would use allot of bandwidth and slow the server down, also it would bbe hard to control what pictures people used, they could use porn...etc.

Also it leaves exploits open too.

Well yes but it is just as easy to upload porn the current way. That is to say it still takes an admin to clean up stupid stuff people post regardless if its there via [img] tags or uploaded, thumb nailed pics.

As for the other stuff then why does every other vBullitin board allow the use of these tags? As I understand it it only slows the thread down for the people viewing it, thatâ??s why you always see people put "56k warning" in the thread title so people know its going to be a thread with alot of pics in it. It should make things actually faster because the pics are being loaded for somewhere else and not the same server that hosts the actual site. What I mean is if you link up a bunch of pics for a slow source only that thread, and only for the people viewing that thread will it slow down. It would have no effect on the speed of other threads that other people are viewing.

Yeah, i hear you. I't wouldnt be a problem if the pictures weren't hosted on this site, but i also think the use of pics in signatures is whats the word i'm looking for e-lame, like something tokosan would enjoy. Obviously it would be a good feature, but if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Yeah, that is what I am saying and is what a lot of boards do. They DONT allow the uploading of pics to the actual site at all. Instead they make a sticky with several free pic hosting sites like http://www.theimagehosting.com/ listed for example and just instruct people to upload their pics there and link them to the thread using the [img] tags.

This saves a lot of server space and makes the site faster. Plus itâ??s nice to be able to link pics in a thread full size. Like my Astronomy pic thread for example.

Plus I think you can make it so [img] tags work but people can not put pics in their sig.

Yea, BENNETT is RON BENNETT the admin, he banned the word so ppl couldnt put it in their names like you cant have the word moderator...etc ;)

Everyone should have the same sig to confuse when he comes back.
