what's everyones favorite Hendrix song? I like "All Along the Watchtower"
'Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)' off of 'First Rays Of The New Rising Sun'...
It was recorded like a week before his death...
freedom ... that's what i like ....
live at "isle of Wight "
I really don't know the man was too good, Message to the universe at Filmore maybe
but I'd have to go with the improvisation at the end of woodstock, blows my mind every time I listen to that, plus he put every1 who performed at woodstock to shame, then topped it off with the greatest fucking improv he's done.
New Rising sun is a tune aswell.
Red House when I'm sober, but I prefer live, improvisational music when I'm stoned.
"All along the watchtower" is definetly my favorite hendrix song. For some reason i also really like "bold as love" also. "hey joe" is a really mellow song and the solo is awsome. all in all hendrix is amazin... or was amazing. But he made decisions and we gotta live wt that, unfortunatly he had to die wt that. R.I.P.
gotta go with voodoo chile (slight return)
Maybe you should listen to more woodstock recordings... Hendrix played and sounded like shit through his whole set until he got to the end with the National Anthem and all that shit....Quote:

The song fire is amazing and i also like hey joe cause its really an amazing song and any song with hendrix solos
BOLD AS LOVE and watchtower
hendrix rules
Purple Haze all in my brain
Lately things just dont seem the same
Actin' funny, but i dont know why
'scuse me while I kiss the sky!
Message to Love live at Woodstock, when he breaks down into those 4 chords and then goes into the solo while he ad-lib's over it, just gives me shivers!
thats a good list. all along the watchtower is my favorite for sure, the guitar is phenomenal and i get lost in it. hey joe is really good. bold as love is the first song ive heard my dad sing to for real. then prolly wind cries mary for me.Quote:

my 3 favs are voodoo child, all along the watchtower and obviously......LITTLEWING :D
>Little wing
Foxy lady
Manic Depression, Little Wing, The Wind Cries Mary
Castles Made of Sand, Fire, Hey Joe.
Check out the "Band of Gypsys" album. "Machine Gun" That one got me through some hard times. I listen to "Star Spangled Banner" every year on the fourth of July just before we set of the fireworks. Woodstock? Well it was prety impressive regardless of how he sounded. You would have been a little flakey if you'd been tripping whole hog for the previous 72 hours. Ah Jimmi
Doctor G
hey baby (new rising sun), i love that song
Bold as Love
Little wing, or castles made of sand
1) EXP/ Up From The Skies
2) Rainy Day, Dream Away
3) Angel
4) Stone Free

hmm definitaly "All Along the Watchtower" or "Purple Haze".
hey joe and purple haze
Of the "First Rays of The New Rising Sun" album, only three songs were completed: Freedom, Night Bird Flying, and Dolly Dagger. The guitars in the live version of "Freedom" are awesome, but I think "Hey, Baby" would've been beautiful, once finished, but the best song, finished or not, is "Drifting".
I like "Wind Cries Mary" and "Hey Joe". :stoned: :)
manic depression
little wing
voodoo child---best intro ever
fire--woodstock version
red house- woodstock version
purple haze
there is only one answer to this question:
little wing
i think it might be the prettiest thing in rock music... "take anything you want from me.... anything..." and then he hits that magical guitar note... mmmm, mm mm mm mm mm... "fly on, little wing"
but i love almost all of his songs, honorable mentions to "all along the watchtower" and "hey joe"
i absolutely love 'killing floor'
If anyone cares to know, Bob Dylan wrote All Along the Watchtower.
voodoo child
Tie between, Manic Depression, Castles made of sand, and littlewing.
yeah, and one of my favorite scenes in the movie American Beauty is when kevin spacey's wife walks in on him and is like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" and he's being a rebel, lifting weights, and smoking pot as bob dylan's original version of the song plays :DQuote:
