A fresh start here for me :)
I have been patiantly waiting to grow these MasterLows for a while now. I am hoping to build on my last grow it didn't go quite to plan, hopefully I am more experienced now.
I will be growing them in 1,5 ltr bottles, I have not gone and bought the soil yet so if anyone could recomend a good UK brand that would be great.
9 seedlings are now in a glass of water and I will hope for the best :D

I am already having doubts about the bottles I have just found out that 1.5 liter is only 0.39 gallon(S?) so what should I do are the bottles too small :confused:
No, the bottles should be fine for the time being. But later on down, the road, you will have to transplant into something bigger.Quote:

What I suggest you do, is wrap the outsides of the bottles up with something to cover them. Or, go buy some empy pots at Wal-Mart. They are about $1.99 per 8inch round container.

OK scrap the 1.5 liter bottles, I have been doing some reading on the official Lowryder grow guide :D
"For best results, place jiffy pellet or plant directly into 1-2 gal.pots. Alternatively, start in 4-inch peat pots, then place
rootbound females into a plant bed after sexing (at approx. 17-20 days)"
"Lowryder females usually grow no taller than 16-20 inches. 12-16 inches is typical. Light intensity, pot size, and proper pH all play an important role in determining the size of plants at maturity â?? the better the conditions, the bigger the yield. Plants produce one main cola, although when they receive adequate light, lower nodes branch out profusely." :D
noechowder, do they even have wall mart in the UK? And I agree with you on the pot room.. And yet.. I would just put them into a gigantic pot, and leave it at that.. I'm never transplanting again!!:p

I suggest start with small pots, then transplant later into bigger ones. Transplanting is not that hard. To have a successful transplant, the plant has to have a well developed root system. How do you know? I let the soil dry out completly, then I very gently, lift the plant up by its stem, then I see how much of the dirt has clumped together. If its really crumbly when lifting, don't transplant yet. Wait until it comes out all in one piece.
I start with small 4inch pots, then when my lady is ready to be put into something bigger (approx. 4-5weeks of life), I then transplant into 8inch square pot.

I'm also curious as how this cross of these 2 strain would flower. I know Lowryder is an autoflowering strain, but I know that the Kush isn't, so if you mix these 2 together, does that make it an auto flower as well? :confused: I've always wondered that.
Yeah, transplanting is not hard, but I tend to make it very stressfull..!:o

john mills soil from b&q ive used it the last twice you may get it from homebase but if not asda are owened by wall mart so they sell the same things good for a prowl some good growen stuff hope it helps
Some autoflower and some don't, either way I'm pretty sure that they don;t get too tall so you probably would be perfectly fine with a mid sized pot. I think HARDDON found some pics of a guy who had a full grow in 2 liter bottles and I'm sure that MDanzig's cross would do just fine. The original LowRyder wasn't supposed to get over 12" from seed to harvest. Although there were some rare cases that they got higher, it's not likely. I'm sure that the MasterLows won't get to be too tall. Of course bigger pots would be better I'm just saying that they aren't absolutely necessery. Goodluck my friend and KEEP US POSTED. I want to see how those turn out.

I went to Homebase and I really hate going there first of all I have to take the train so I didn't want to buy more than 10 liters dont want to carry. I also hate the neighbourhood its in :( I had smoked some pot, and when arriving at the station there is a sign saying "attention, we have seen a rise in youths,often on bicycles stealing mobile phones etc. " that made me paranoid then I walked on another sign "Can you help, Murder, man fatally shot, silver car seen speeding away" So I was really shitting myself, beacause I was stoned and didnt want to bump into someone wanting my money lol :D especially seeing as I have potting compost on me (they would beat the shit out of me) :)
But everything went fine and I ended up buying Orchid Compost bad move?
Oh yeah Scoobie I was looking for that but they had a really small selection and it wasnt there thanks for the advice though :)

im just germinating my very first grow, which is just lowryder. Im starting with 3 seeds first just to mess around with...see how things go etc etc...all 3 seeds have cracked and the tap roots are just showing....been germinating for about 36 hrs now.
regarding the lighting times...i got this off the grow guide you said you were reading.
"I recommend 18 hours per day; this can be decreased to 16 after the first month with no loss of yield."
but that is just pure lowryder....so im not sure if it will vary in crosses
hope all goes well with your grow....keep us updated as im very interested in lowryder crossbreeds

No drop them to 18/6 if they don't AF at 24/7 and than if they still don't start to flower drop again to 12/12. You still have a chance to AF just a small % and I'm not sure at what stage these are before MD released it.Quote:

Thats a good start :) I am really worried howvever, OK two issues I didnt have enough soil for 9 bottles (10 liters duh) :o I am also very worried about the orchid mix soil, it isnt exactly ideal for sowing seedlings :eek: but I will have to wait to see the outcome how long does it usually take? also I am very lucky because I managed to save the two seeds before they germinated so if all goes wrong and the seeds dont pop out of the dirt I will do a 3 plant grow ;)

hello :) yeah they are all planted, its just that usually you would use just straight compost but this time I have decided to use orchid mix..there is all kinds of barks and shit in there. Will you be doing a journal on your Lowryder grow? :) that would be great ;)
Hey everyone, im not trying to hijack. i just had a quick question since we were on the topic of autoflowering. I have A lady that is about 4 ft. tall, i got her from bagseed and she has been AutoFlowering for a while now. Because i haven't switched her to 12/12 (wanted her to be a mother plant) her pistil's have begun to curl up and turn brown. I have now decided its too late to clone her (plus shes a beauty and i dun wanna chop her up ;). So im going to flower her pretty soon, will she produce less because i have had her in this autoflower stage for so long?
BTW looks GREAT so far Fugitive!
I bought some of that on recommendation too and ended up throwing it out. I opened it and was really disappointed. Huge pieces of bark and charcoal! Scary looking.Quote:

Hello all the seeds have sprouted and they are now officially seedlings :) I won't be doing almost daily updates as was the case in my last growlog ;) got a little excited about growing weed for the first time :D This time around I will update weekly on monday.
SittinStoney420 hello :) what strain are you growing ? just switch to 12/12 when you feel like it :D if you have a lot of space keep growing it and you will get more when flowering. I need to note however that plants sometimes double in size when flowering.
Lemonboy. I felt the same way when I first had a look at it, but I don't have another choice (well im lazy) I am just having to rely on it and see how it does :)

These ones are growing kind of weird, Two of the mkxlw are growing really well and fast but the other five just won't grow much :confused: anyways here are some pics not much too get excited about.

loken good from my experience usually the first and fastest to sprout and develop ends up being male..dont mean to jinx you but loken good thusfar

That's wierd, the two plants that are growing faster than the other seem to be very far along for being only day 7. The other ones look pretty much "on time". Maybe it's an accident in Mdanzig's breed. Goodluck <3
