not team sports
Course mate, Football and Cricket!!!
By Football, I mean Football not that NFL Shit!
No need to take a cheap shot at the NFL. NFL football is a great game. I like soccer too but it is kind of lame. If I want to see a low scoring game like soccer where people try to put a little object in a net I prefer something like hockey. I mean soccer is boring because the is very little scoring and there is almost no injury, aside from twisting an ankle or something lol It's no big deal because my favorite sport is baseball, not football. I donā??t really understand how soccer got so big in other parts of the world... but what ever itā??s cool.Quote:

I love snowboarding if you consider that a sport.
I'd have to say that my favorite sport is girls tho ;)
I like to practice sports.
Watching it is concealed homo-erotic behaviour.
You sound like Elijah Wood in Green Street Hooligans! lolQuote:

Second off, its, in my mind, the perfect team sport. 11 players striving together for that common goal : the back of the net. It so exciting to play/ and even better when you net one yourself. millions of people all over the world can't be that stupid, can they??
just thought id throw in my 2 cents.
If I lived in Europe my favorite sport would be rally racing FOR SURE!!! Not soccer. I can get into watching just about all sports, golf, tennis, skiing, pretty much anything but soccer. Itā??s just really weak. But like I said you have one of the coolest sports in the world, Rally Sport!! Which is practically non-existent here.. :(Quote:

Believe me, if you aint a geek and are from UK then you would love Football!
Yeah that is the one thing I can appreciate about soccer, its simplicity. 11 people and 1 ball. That is probably part of why it is so big all over the world. There is really no equipment to buy. Just a ball and thatā??s it, maybe a good pair of shoes. Anyone one without any money at all can play soccer.Quote:

golf is fun but only when youre playing, not watching.
LOL this reminded me of George Carlin :D:D
Baseball is different from any other sport, very different. For instance, in most sports you score points or goals; in baseball you score runs. In most sports the ball, or object, is put in play by the offensive team; in baseball the defensive team puts the ball in play, and only the defense is allowed to touch the ball. In fact, in baseball if an offensive player touches the ball intentionally, he's out; sometimes unintentionally, he's out.
Also: in football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and all sports played with a ball, you score with the ball and in baseball the ball prevents you from scoring.
In most sports the team is run by a coach; in baseball the team is run by a manager. And only in baseball does the manager or coach wear the same clothing the players do. If you'd ever seen John Madden in his Oakland Raiders uniform, you'd know the reason for this custom.
Now, I've mentioned football. Baseball & football are the two most popular spectator sports in this country. And as such, it seems they ought to be able to tell us something about ourselves and our values.
I enjoy comparing baseball and football:
Baseball is a nineteenth-century pastoral game.
Football is a twentieth-century technological struggle.
Baseball is played on a diamond, in a park. The baseball park!
Football is played on a gridiron, in a stadium, sometimes called Soldier Field or War Memorial Stadium.
Baseball begins in the spring, the season of new life.
Football begins in the fall, when everything's dying.
In football you wear a helmet.
In baseball you wear a cap.
Football is concerned with downs - what down is it?
Baseball is concerned with ups - who's up?
In football you receive a penalty.
In baseball you make an error.
In football the specialist comes in to kick.
In baseball the specialist comes in to relieve somebody.
Football has hitting, clipping, spearing, piling on, personal fouls, late hitting and unnecessary roughness.
Baseball has the sacrifice.
Football is played in any kind of weather: rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog...
In baseball, if it rains, we don't go out to play.
Baseball has the seventh inning stretch.
Football has the two minute warning.
Baseball has no time limit: we don't know when it's gonna end - might have extra innings.
Football is rigidly timed, and it will end even if we've got to go to sudden death.
In baseball, during the game, in the stands, there's kind of a picnic feeling; emotions may run high or low, but there's not too much unpleasantness.
In football, during the game in the stands, you can be sure that at least twenty-seven times you're capable of taking the life of a fellow human being.
And finally, the objectives of the two games are completely different:
In football the object is for the quarterback, also known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his receivers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line.
In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! - I hope I'll be safe at home!
Yeah thats an old classic. It's funny but I love both Football and Baseball!
I like sport. Real sport with huge grown fat men in tight spandex beating each other up. Or some might call it WRESTLING.

Let's ask the most dominant team in the history of team sports.
The New York Yankees.
aw they suck.
Hell yeah to your origninal question with football being my favourite sport (go Raiders) and cricket my second. Strangly for someone within the UK I find soccer very boring.
Haha I played cricket for a year, my god what a tedious game that was. :) Even at baseball speed, which we preferred.Quote:

as for playing, football, basketball, soccer(my favorite to play), lacrosse, and hockey. i'll pretty much play any sport. and skateboarding too if you consider that.
F the Yankees. Even though they lost, all professional teams try to emulate the New England Patriots. The Sox will have the best pitching staff in the A.L., and as we know good pitching always beats good hitting.
You're, just, jealous 'cause we got Johnny Damon to cut his hair. The Bronx isn't too kind of a place to pretty boys. Ah, but we love him, now!
dude the bronx is fulla pretty boys.
Yeah man, the bronx is full of pretty boys....Quote:

I like watching sports like football, tennis, and sometimes basketball. Baseball doesnt excite me as much as it used to. I like minor league instead of the majors. oh and btw the biggest spectator sport here in the US is nascar. not football and baseball
I predict Denver to win. Mile High is just too hard of a place to win in. Plus the Broncos have been over looked and underrated all year. Plumber and the Broncos will go to the Super bowl. The Bus will be making his last stop in Denver.
