Panic Attacks and weed?????????

Just a general question for you guys. Does anyone ever experience panic attacks after smoking weed. I have been smoking for over 10 years pretty much everyday. The last few weeks I have had them, stressing about work and the usual stuff. I get the accelerated heartbeat, hot flashes and feelings that i might bug out. kinda scary at times! I dont know if there is a connection, but sometimes I feel a little shaky after smoking. Has anyone had this problems or know what I can do. I love to smoke, but wondering if there is a connection.
also i havent even smoked that much at all this weekend and still dont feel right.

my husband does; the first few years it was great and then his buzzes started turning into dark hideous things. He no longer smokes.

ive had them, be interesting to know why, because there was no direct apparent reason as far as i was aware, it just came over me

I think personal emotions contribute to it
In the summer i was really depressed and sometimes after smoking i would burn up and be really sweaty and think i was about to die
But when i feel good or ok or even just down im not like that----i think it depends on how down or frustrated you are

I've experienced this too -- oddly, only with certain strains. My heart starts racing (I once had a friend of mine take my pulse, it was around 140-150) and generally the feeling of that is enough to bug me out. But lately I've accepted it as "what usually happens" and I can just coast on through. 10-20 minutes later I'm normal heart rate and feeling great.

Yes this has happened to me alot.Its mostly mental.I was unfortanate enough to have it happen to me in class.I kept thinking my heart was ganna stop and I was ganna die, I also thought the weed was laced.It was just a minor panic attack.After that I realized it was just mental and when I feel it happen I get up walk around tell myself everything is fine, try and think of something that makes you happy.

only happened to me a few times when i started, now i can smoke the best shit and just feel great...

my worst was my first time with dro, i was super paranoid, thinking ppl were watching and i was going to jail...was probably my prenotion that this was a bad thing. now i know better :)

Thanks for the replys everyone. I definately think it has to do with your mental state too. I have been out of work for a few months and just getting bs responses with unemplyment running out. I got a second interview on Mon for a very good position.
Wish me luck and hope when I get back into the swing of things, I can smoke with some peace of mind and also with some medical coverage, talk to someone to see if I can find a way to relax when feeling like that.
I am just gonna take it easy for a bit and see.
PS just hit a small bowl and feeling ok, but still have that feeling in the back of my mind. not buggin out though so i hope it is just my nerves which are shot lol

panic-attact is a big part of manic-attact and also it is a big part of schizo...lol if you smoke alone, (or your personality is alil antisocial) u see it, and your second step will be schizophrenic %100
just find a "reliable" (lol) psychologist, you will find alot of healthy answers

The panic attacks really are completely mental, and are a manifestation of our modern society. Try taking Kava Kava, or kava kava mixed with other herbs like chamomile. This has worked for me and should stop the worst of it.

Btw the way im am wondering if it could be the strain as well

Yeah weed is actually supposed to help prevent panic attacks. So maybe you are really stressed out until the weed takes effect, then you are actually calmed down enough to notice how stressed out you are, or were.

the panic attacks are largely subliminal, but can be brought on by cold temperatures.

when you get so high, that you feel... . 'wrong' is all i can say... you begin to panic.

cold climates and temperatures largly increase the potency of drugs, such as pot, and as a result you will feel twice as stoned on half as much. well... that may be a bit of an exaggeration :D but still... the cold brings on the panic attacks.


stay warm, drink tea, you should be fine :)



oh, and is it just me, or does pot act like A/C during the summer? :D i can get baked then bake in the sun and feel simply WARM on a hot day :D

Hmmm weed is a depressant in the long run, and if your in a depressive point in your life, weed hightens that, and can give you panic attacks. weed is bottomline a depressant, but ussually in excess, and with depressed feelings does it lead to this, well in my experience at least and what I have observed. although I am burning out right now so does that make sense?

I definately appreciate the feedback im chilling today taking a puff or two from time to time and watching some football
i think all the stress is hittin me lately and hopefully will be gone with some luck tomorrow.

Sometimes when I get too stoned and panic, my face flushes, i get really really cold and get the shivers everywhere in my body. I have to get under blankets and just like ride it out. It sucks but it only happens sometimes. Its like my body needs to shed some stress or something. As long as you realize whats going on its usually ok

i had one.

and i was coming down from DXM. it just stimulated me and fucked up my high in all ways.
