I just answered your other post. but I have had the same problem when I tried just straight tap water. But nowdays I dont get that problem at all anymore because of using ph 6 water and feeding nutes sometimes half strength.

Check your PH and adjust it if needed to 6.0 - 6.5 for Hydro or 6.5 - 6.8 for soil.

tap water has many irons and chemicals in it especially when you make the mistake of using warm tap water to try to bring down tempts to room temp all in all ditch the tap water and buy gallons of water poland spring deer park there 1.50 a gallon had the same problems myself also could be poor soil quality as for the above advice of feeding them i dont recomend that unless u wanna fert burn and throw them into shock for a couple weeks best of luck

i use rainwater thats 6.7 PH, i was thinking of trying some nitrates.
last night one of my friends told me that its because it doesn't need the bottom leaves anymore so it gets rid of them to concerntrate efforts on the others closer to the top. sounds a bit like bullshit to me though, what do you think? anyone know if this is actualy true or not?
-
plant problems
i just checked the PH of the rainwater (it's in a barrel) & it was nowhere near what it was last time i checked, more like 7.5 so i put some PH down in it. hopefully that'll help it out
-
plant problems
Normally the leaves at the bottom do die off
-
plant problems
yeah they do die off dont worry bout that. Just make sure their getting their right amount of Nitro ;)
-
plant problems
The PH was probably the problem all the Nutes in the world won't help if your PH is too high for your plants to be able to use them.

also, how do i stop it being droopy, it's only a little droopy & it's ALWAYS been droopy, but how do i stop it?
-
plant problems
Droopy is ok when the light are off or dim. Your plant should be less droopy when the lights are on, if it always looks like the same amount of droopyness then write back.

i'm writting back
i dunno, the tip of the leaf is just about 45degrees i only water once every 3 or 4 days cos it takes a while to dry out. i thought that was the problem but it doesn't stand to attention when i do water it!?!?!?!? im confused
-
plant problems
Tuff question really can you provide a photo? Some droppyness is normal when in low light conditions. What kind of lights are you using and how close are they to the plants? What is your photo period?

plant problems
i could get a photo, but not today because i need to borrow a digi cam. i've got a 250W MH & it's perhaps a little too close to the light at the moment, i'm moving it to a larger space by tomorrow. i re-potted today & when i did it i mixed a little rooting powder in some water & sprayed the roots before i potted it (do you think it was a good idea?) i'll try to get a picture on tmrw aswel,
thankyou plz.
-
plant problems
oh yeah, & what do you mean by photo period, how long until i can get one?
-
plant problems
Photo period - however long you are leaving lights on on the room. Are you leaving it on 16 hours or 24 hours or whatever. If your plants are drooping while your light is on then alot of times this is overwatering. A picture would be great. I don't think the rooting powder will not hurt so long as you did not disturb the roots. I will wait to see the picture before I say anything else.
Have fun,

plant problems
it's on 18/6, sorry i didn't get the pictures today, but i had trouble borrowing a camera. no i didn't disturb the roots (damage any if thats what you mean.)
i moved into my attic today, finally, i had problems with plumbing & electrics, so i had to wait until the electronic, etc had come in before i could re-locate. i have a regular fan on 24/7 (i'll show in the pics) do you think that will....... well ....fuck up?
-
plant problems
hey, if your plants are in 18/6 then they droop sometimes towards the end of this period, if they are drooping constantly its probably overwatering but you need some pics. leave the soil to dry out and flush the plant, then instead of spending money on bottle water, distill your water by boiling it to get out ions. your light is only too close if leaf tips are curling up
-
plant problems
not curling up, they're burning
-
plant problems
(but it's alright now because it's a little further away, about 4" above the top point)
-
plant problems
over fertilising, I have a 250 HPS how far away are you. They will curl up and eventually go crispy if light is too close, from the sounds of it your plant needs flushing just to clean out the soil and start nutes again. dont use full strength ferts i use like 3/4 of what they recomend and that works fine for me

picture one is the DROOPY plant, picture two is the fan that's on 24/7, do you think the motor would burn out or summin because it's not ment to be on all the time.
-
plant problems
overwtering, dont worry about the light it seems fine, plant is a fine colour the only problem is over watering
-
plant problems
Don't worry about the fan either. It will run non stop for a long long time.
-
plant problems
cheers for the help, so does that mean i should leave it for like 2 or 3 days of the soil being completely dry before watering it?
-
plant problems
cheers for all the help, she(hopefuly) is looking much better now :) also, how long is the maximum you can veg a plant for before it starts to get stressed? cos i gotta veg it until the white widow's ready to bud (cos i only got one light)
i cut of two leaves to make room & light for new growth underneath. :rasta:

plant problems
sorry i havn't been on for a while, it's because my computers mucked up so i had to go on my mate's. but anyway the plant's now female!! :) but now its really smelly, it's started to attract fly's, loads of them fucking little shits. every time i see it, its got more on it. please i can't get rid of them, any ideas for a home made fly trap? i was thinking about getting some mosquito netting, what do you think?

plant problems
my plants are growing nice but the buds are small
-
plant problems
just started growing, plants look nice but buds are small need help
-
plant problems
is that a hydro setup??? if not use Diatomacious earth on the soil and it will kill the gnats and eggs.
I see she is perking up now. :-)
If the ph of the water isn't around 6 then you can get a condition called Nutrient lockout.
-
plant problems
oh shes bigger than that now, lol check this out!
no it's not hydro, the pebbles are there to stop the soil getting hot & evaporating the water, they work pretty god damn well. no root rot either.
-
plant problems
Give it time .it takes a couple ,few weeks for the buds to show up and a few more weeks to plump up.
