i'm gonna be smoking with my friend who's never smoked before
i told him he probably wouldn't get high this time and he asked me why
that made me realize i don't actually know
does anyone know the scientific reason most folks dont get stoned the first time they smoke?
its because they are scared and dont know wat to think their first time. they will get high if they inhale it and hold it in. also the new user lungs arent ready for it making them cough

i've been told my whole smoking career that almost no one gets high their first time, no matter how much they smoke
i always figured it was more physical then mental
now THAT made no sense... :s
anyways, I think the reason people say that is because most first timers don't understand what you mean when you tell them to inhale.
and yeah, I did get high my first time. I think it was because I knew to enhale
i knew how to inhale and didn't get high the first time. it took me 6 times to get high.but now i get stoned off the tiniest amount of weed.
If they smoke cigs then they should be able to enhale properly. My first few times I didnt get stoned, I'm pretty sure it's to do with how they inhale. Instead of inhaling they just hold it in their mouth, if they havnt inhaled obviously theyre not gonna get stoned. Make sure you tell them to "breathe it in" like they would with air.

I was high as a kite when i first smoked....i knew that i was suppose to inhale.

It is such a turn-off when you don't get high your first time; but, I did feel good and I am going to try again without fucking it up.

i dont think i know anyone who DIDNT get high the first time i sure did and so did all my mates
my first time my friend rolled 2 pound-blunts and we each smoked one and i didnt even buzz, now it takes at least 2-3 pounds of weed to start buzzing
trust me, i can make anyne high there first time, i can make anyone whitey there first time, its an art.

I inhaled properly the first time, and didn't get high. I felt a little different, and by all accounts, was acting pretty messed up.
I think it's more of a mental thing for some people-- they don't know what to expect from the drug, so they don't really notice that they're altered significantly. It was like that with me for every drug I've taken (weed, alcohol, oxy).
The best option? Get a good bong and some dank KB. It's impossible to NOT inhale a bong rip, so it's a good option, and with the dank buds, there's no way your newbie friend won't notice the drug's effect.
i got pretty high the first time it was 3 and a half years ago when i was 13 and my mate was smoking a J and goes do u wnt sum i was like urm ok i was proper sh!tting it tho the first time
i was sooo high the first time, ptolly cuz the first time was with a 3 litre rocket that fucked me up good and proper :D and then was still burpin up smoke 10 mins l8er, ahhh thems was the days
I didn't get high my first time coz i didn't know how to hit it rite. :o But the first time i bought weed i got high =]
It took me like 3 times before gettin high.
