That looks real good turtle. Few can manage to get the mylar in there right. Glad your an anal perfectionist like me. :D
Na... smerking over soil...
among other things... ;)
They have cheap sterile potting soil that has no nutrients added nothing. They sell it at HD and Wally World as well. I can't remember the name but it's nothing special. I just look for dirt that has no nutrients in it to start and no nothing but sterile potting soil. I mix it 50/50 with Perlite and the 5-gallon bucket has about 50-100 holes in it for drainage, that's about it. I do reuse it as well and have used the same dirt for a few years now with no problems.
Dirt farming is to easy and slow for my taste but it does have it place in my garden as well.
I prefer dirt that allows me to provide the nutrients and care for the plant.
Hempy is fine he just has a problem with a few mods and thinks this site should be more active in the legalization movement is all. Problem with that is Ron is the only person who can say what happends here and not any mod's that I know of. I'm only here to help people grow their own and not spend money buying weed.
instead of tryin to legalize it, surely it'd just be easier to get everyone to grow it, then we can piss off the government too
I personally prefer soil due to organic reasons although using chemical nutrients takes away from that some unless you use organic nutrients. I know hydroponics contributes to more yield though but how far apart in time have your soil grows yielded vs. your hydro grows since hydro reduces the cycle some?
I can get in 3 extra full grows a year growing hydro over dirt.
That's enough reason to me.
I'd love to do aeroponics once.Quote:

Soil...
Here's the logical trick I picked up a decade ago when I went completely organic.
Most soils have there own mix... I'd say 90% of those soils has a tested nutrient solution to go alone with soil.
Zandor is so right about soils that have nutrients added.. Like time release crap.
You want to be in control and want soils that have NO additives.. (very important)
Fox Farm and Fox Farm nutrients was my favorite for quite some time.
Now I use a special blend from grow supply store and recomended nutrients made FOR that soil... I get about a 1/3 more yield with this stuff...
Now.... I know opinions and other peoples perfected ways work. I like the logical approach. Always try what works for YOU! Perfect it and your a happy camper!
~peace~
I like you dude I would not wish that crap on anybody. There are better system out there that are cheaper to buy, build and even operate. After about 30 day's you end up with just an NFT system because more then 1/2 of the misters are clogged and you have no clue.Quote:
