if there's a hell, this is it
I hate today's world. I myself am the only person 'connected' to my spiritual self in my family (rest of 'em are straight athiest), and It's extremely frustrating trying to explain philosphical standpoints when everyone on around you tends to get a wide grin and occasionally laugh at what you have to say. I just feel so strongly that there is SO much more to life then the physical world. Something much, much greater... yes, that is without question. Anyway recently I picked up shamanism, and quite frankly don't know why I dabbled with any of the religions I have previously. I strongly beleive in the stront connection between man and the trees, and the spiritual deities they contain. But when I try to talk, try to explain my views to my family, they tend to grin, or refer to shamanism as a "drug" induced religion. But I see it as soooooooo much more, and when they say these kind of these things it tends to piss me off, and I usually just say whatever and give up. IDK why I'm posting this, it's just something that's been buggin' me.
Peace
RastaKaze

entheogens are the keys to unlock the heavens.
use them wisely and you can receive gifts of knowledge from god.
the non beleivers can wallow in their illusion of reality
-
if there's a hell, this is it
Ahhh, thank you... alas, being 15, and in America, it is extremely hard to find any social groups who can accept the true nature of entheogens rather then just another "drug" to "trip" off of. There are great truths revealed in entheogenic journeys... truth of one's self, truth of the universe... bare reality. Thank you for that bit of insight my friend.

Rastaman, I know EXACTLY what you're going through... because I am a spiritual person, people think I don't even know what I am going on about. They laugh because they don't believe what I believe and they state that I am wrong, and that God is the one who controls everything. But I have never doubted God's existence... only how he is perceived. And people always give me shit for that... but it's ok, because they'll all learn their lessons. So will I... I could be wrong, I'm not denying that... but couldn't there be the possiblity that God isn't what everything thinks he is? Couldn't it be posssible that the deeper we go into shamanism or into our beliefs that we are just going deeper into our mind? I don't think it's sounds far-fetched, do you?
-
if there's a hell, this is it
No, I totally get what your saying... I don't beleive God is this one almighty being that created it all... however I do beleive that there are several events and entities we owe our existence to. And I beleive meditation, entheogens, hypnotherapy all play an important role in discovering our true nature. These allow us to explore different levels of the mind... and this (the mind) is where I beleive the answer to ANY question lies.
-
if there's a hell, this is it
yes i agree...this is hell.
well it defaintly aint heaven!
n if it is...id live to vist hell sometime...
we cant be in limbo
or are we.....
well how u explain deja vu?
are we all dreaming?
are we in the matrix?
DUNNO!...NOone fuckin knows!...you will never know!...until you DIE...or...kill yourself ...then you will find out.
-
if there's a hell, this is it
actually, deja vu is nothing more then a brain misfuntion. the equivalent of you saving a file in the wrong place on your computer. something to do with the electrical current carrying the image you see directly to the long term banks instead of short term.. that's why some people feel like they've been places they havn't. And we aren't dreaming, DREAMING is dreaming. We are just in the physical world right now, and once we die, we go on to the next form of existence. An existence that would seem almost uncomprehendable to any man. Except a shaman :)
-
if there's a hell, this is it
^^
..smart ass scientists always have and an explanation for everything.
how can your brain carry an image if, what you dreamed of. you have never done before, and then it becomes reality. eh?
reality is, its unknown how the brain works.

I have seen reality, through the ingestion of my plant allies. True reality is something to make most men's heart fail... it is not very barable. Only the few brave individuals who devote they're lives to the nature of entheogens will experience anything near true reality.

Oh man.. this a perfect topic for me also..... Well im 15 and im now just started to think about all this stuff that you rasta, already have.....A couple questions though, do the psychedelics or entheogens help. Becuase im even finding myself starting to realize these things when i smoke. (Although very minuscule to what your experiencing im sure)

Sorry for being way of point, but are you 15 years old Rasta?
It's just you have a very strong view of life that early! I take my hat of for you!:)

Thank you for that powederpuff, and miraz, I think you and I could have a very posotive talk, why don't you drop me an email at [email protected]... The truth is, they can help, and have helped me miraculously. I consider It my duty to spread the spiritual use of these plants in any way I can. But in order to gain any true lesson from them, you must want to change, and you must approach everything you do with great commitment.

Jimi Hendrix was coming out with a song called "Straight Ahead".
"We gotta tell the children the truth, they don't need a whole lot of lies.
Because on of these days, baby, they'll be running things.
So, when you give 'em love, ya' gotta give it right."

It is not something that can be written down or described to one so deeply emersed in the middle world of ego-conciousness. Until you have traveled to both the sub and superconcious minds, it is impossible to comprehend they're reality. As an individual very interested in shamanic work, I have learned to induce these ecstatic visionary states via shamanic drumming.. I can do this whenever I want to, and I can choose to end the visions whenever I please. Drug induced ecstasy, much like the kind induced by mind-altering potions such as ayahuasca, are but the training wheels for shamanic work. Really, I'd love to try to explain it all to you, but it would just take an eternity.

I want so much to go into my subconscious and superconscious, but It's really frustrating when you don't get it soon, ya know? Tool's song Third Eye got me wanting to try again, this time I feel the desire with more conviction, you know? I hope I'll get somewhere this time :).

if there's a hell, this is it
Hell is very much this 3rd dimension (3D). This is a dimension of pain, flesh, choas, fear and death.
However, it is nessecary to experience this for our personal growth (no pain no gain).
Hell could take on new forms in 4D. 4D is a place where thought (or "intention") is very quickly turned into reality. A weak soul could easily create a hell beyond time by not being in control of itself. Maybe that is what experiencing the 3D is all about.
Hell is probably worse on lower levels of existance.

Dude, check it. I've been practicing shamanism for about 8 years. No that doesn't make me an expert or anything. I just want to share something I picked up along the way. Here are my ramblings.
The problem with many practices/phylosophies/ideas is that people try to turn them into a religion. Take taoism for instance. There are those that use the teachings of the Tao as a suggestion on how to live and act. There are others that take it to extremes. Now Taoism really isn't a "problem religion" by that I mean people don't go out and kill others in it's name. But take Christianity. How many lives could be spared if people just looked at the bible and took it as a guidebook and not a religion? Look at islam, same question. The problem with this world is that there are no absolutes. Nothing is absolutely right or absolutely wrong. That being said, Shamanism won't be your answer for everything just as Taoism can't answer every question I have.
My main point here is don't put too much stock in any one thing. There are no constants. Only what we perceive. (Oh man, that sounds like something out of the Matrix lol)
If this makes no sense what so ever I blaim the weed.
-
if there's a hell, this is it
Blame the weed, mugshot. What the hell is it thinking putting thoughts in your head that serve no purpose to your immediate creators?
Unless your parent are Shaman, also.

Dude, I love you.
I know exactly what you're saying.
I don't consider myself someone who is familiar with shamanism, but rather, shamanics. The "way" of the shaman as you stated.

damn RastaKaze, I'd almost call you enlightened, except for you choosing to condemn your current existence as hell.
My fleeting glimpses of what I consider to be reality showed my the infinite expansion of an infinite number of possiblities. Times infinity. Its hard to explain, I like to think of fractals, which just so happen to be found everywhere. The golden spiral and all. So many metaphors to describe what the shaman has seen and yet so few choose to understand them, we just don't have the language to describe the infinite nature of reality.

And THIS is why everyone needs to master these abilities of ecstatic ectasy-- for if we as humans, came together in an effort to understand the nature of entheogens/psychadelics as well as our complex, complex relationship we have with them... Then, and only then, will the phrase "Anything is possible" have any true value :)
-
if there's a hell, this is it
oh, so you meant hell in the sense that hell is seperation from "god" (since we're using the christian archytypes to describe it currently)?
But the more enlightened you are then, the further you are from hell, right? So, it seems to me like you're a fairly openminded individual, what's separating you from the touch of the divine right now?
-

LOL, that thread title was a bad choice. I was simply expressing my feeling at the time, I didn't put any real stock in the thread title. Read the first post...
