a beginner question....

ok i recently started smoking with some of my friends. the first three times i smoked, my friends had called me when i was already very drunk, so i wasnt sure exactly how being high felt cause i was so drunk already (and they said i wouldnt be high my first few times anyway). so i didnt think much of it until the other day when i hung out with my friend and just smoked. between the two of us (and another girl who only took a few hits), we ended up smoking 2 bowls, then eating, then another bowl. the bud looked pretty good (dont know the strain, but it had lots of orange hairs).

after that, i could tell that my friend and the girl were super high cause they could barely stop cracking up and talking. I, on the other hand, didnt feel like that. i dont know how to really describe the feeling. i was not really sober, cause things seemed different (i was very quiet and reserved, and i kept staring fixedly at things. i could tell that i wasnt very aware of my surroundings, like i couldnt use peripheral vision or something. and when i would try to talk, my sentences wouldnt always finish or make sense....which was kind of funny.....also, time seemed to go by really fast, and my memory is kind of hazy of the whole thing) but i wouldnt really call it a totally positive experience really, more just different.

anyways, then me and my friend later went to another friends house for a big poker tournament, and i ended up sobering up towards the end and winning........but anyways, im wondering why my experience was like that, and not like how others experience being high. as far as specifics, it was 3 bowls from his pipe, and i was taking pretty decent sized hits and holding it in for a few seconds before exhaling. any thoughts, ideas, suggestions???

just like prescription medicines and the reason we have to have doctors prescribe them (which is why they're not otc) becasue they affect diffrent people in diffrent ways, don't try to base your high on someone else's high, becasue chances are they aren't going to be anything alike... i know some people they smoke and get all giggly and can't keep a straight face, and that's about all it does to them, then others get really mellow and just want to lay around and reflect on things and are quiet, and think to themselves, maybe laugh if something's funny, then i know other people who smoke and just won't stfu for nothing, keep talking and talking about nothing important even when everyone is blatantly ignoring them, then there's me, when i get high i go to a new world (unless the weed was weak) i feel some of the weirdest things, and it's hard for me to say things i'm thinking, for example in my head i could understand algebric equations perfectly, have no problem thinking threw it, but if i actually tried to do them outloud i would get confused and eventually lose my entire train of thought (i'd get halfway through solving it and forget everything i just did and have to start all over again) and alot of the times i start feeling weird shit in my body like, if the world is as big around as a marble and there's me and like 6 other people standing on the world, all spaced equally out, like if you were to take the world and cube it (like a pair of dice) and one person was standing on each side, but it's still a circle, just the only way i could think if explaining that was to visualize a cube... and other times i feel like i'm on a roller coaster, but the actual part that rides around on the track has a gyro thing on it (things people get in and it's like about 3-4 circlular bars and they strap themselves in and start spinning all over hte place) so at the same time i'm racing around a track that's going up and down and side to side i'm spinning around in a circle, but spinning all diffrent ways, not just like front flips over and over.

Make sure when you inhale the hit, inhale it again after you take the pipe away from your mouth, this is a sure way to make sure you get the thc in your lungs. Being high isn't always a positive experience, a lot of factors are to be taken into account: your mood, your personality, your health, the strain, how much is smoked, etc.

I suggest you smoke again, only with a close friend, when you are in a great mood. Don't expect anything, just let the high take you where it wants. Give it full control of your mind and body. If you're the creative type, draw, write, play music, while you're stoned. See how thats affected. If you're an analytical type (like me) get a notebook and start documenting your experiences. People may call you weird, but fuck'em if its what you want to do.

what exactly do you mean by "Make sure when you inhale the hit, inhale it again after you take the pipe away from your mouth"? do you mean like keep inhaling after clearing the pipe?

i duno how he does it but i take a toke from a pipe or whatever hold it in, and after the bowl is away from my mouth or whatever ill just breath in again with the smoke still in my lungs, it pushes the smoke down farther in your lungs

^ I do that all the time, seems to work:) my friend gave me that tip a year ago or so, he says breath in through your nose though.

This has happened to me before, sometimes instead of becoming slap happy i just chill and listen to music (always have my mp3 player with me when getting blazed). Once you smoke a few more times im sure youll have different experiences.

Also, if you want to learn a tricky way to inhale causing the smoke to go further into your lungs, try the french inhale. Thats what its called around here but you take a nrmal size hit, but when your about to clear it, just take a mouth hit, push the smoke thats in your mouth out with your tonge (hard to explain but force your tongue forward towards your teeth). If yuou do it right the smoke in your mouth will come out, at the same time inhale through your nose so it goes back into your lungs through your nasal passage, and also looks cool as hell lol.

The only advice I can give you is to keep smoking and decide if you like it after a few more tries. Wisdom comes from experience my friend. :thumbsup:

Agreed.

I think the same thing happend to me man. The first time i smoked i didnt feel really high but I could defenitely tell something was different. I only remember like bits of it but my friends tell me I was fucked outta my mind. I think that people do get high their first time its just that they dont know how to perceive it so they think they are not high. And then they forget the whole thing so they dont remember what it feels like.

Also, I know people that took like 5 times before they got high. Myself, the second time I smoked, I knew i was high.

So, the first time you get high, you will know.
