First try removing them with add/remove programs.
Get another freebie called Ad-Aware (download.com) and run it as well. Then boot up in safe mode and run both of them again. I you still have the spyware you will need more help that can be provided in this forum. Someone will probably need to go through your registry and remove it manually. Make sure that both programs have been updated with current dat files.
Im using spybot and adware but i havent rebooted in safe mode yet but ive got a feeling it wont work.
This is the best anti-spyware program I've found on the market. When I was doing PC repair it's what I used on all my client's PCs.
Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta
i think you need to geniune spoftware to download this program,i have a copy :(
Ok go to www.downloads.com search for SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY, download it, run it scan and delete
Get YAHOO or GOOGLE toolbar with ANTI-SPY scan the system and delete,
On downloads.com search for REGISTRYFIX download it and scan it ;)
There all FREEWARE progs
AND WILL REMOVE SPYWARE FOR YOU EASILY
sorry but these fuckin spybot search and destroy dont work man
i have ad aware, microsoft anti-spyware and i had spybot search and destroy recently and fuck i still had pop ups and malwares and shit
But did u clean your registry though mellow mood?
also youll need a pop up blocker and its always good to have a trojan scanner,
90% of the time spywar is on your comp due to a program you downloaded that runs it, like Kazaa etc you can delete the spywar using spybot BUT if you dont delete the SOURCE it will just keep coming back.
ALSO
Plumber why not try to Restore your PC to a Differant Date when your PC was in good working order using SYSTEM RESTORE
ad aware is crap spybot DOES work as long as u get rid of the source your fine trust me ive done this for hundreds of PC's with no problem
Microsofts Spywar detector is good but if u cant get it dont worry bout it
well do u mean once the spyware are all found, u cant just click on quanrantine or whatever?
no what u gotta do is scan for the spyware then click FIX SELECTED then make sure there deleted but check the SOURCE of the spywar say spywar finds:
Win32.Spybot and deletes it, you wanna find where that came from so say it came from Kazza u delete kazaa and then thats that fixed. or u have to delete it from the REGISTRY if you have to do so MANUALLY then you can do so by:
Click Start
Run
Type: REGEDIT
and search for the apporiaote reg name (/location) provided by Spyboy S&D
okay,i got the damn spyware/blankpage thing from looking a piorn.I running spybot with the xp firewall with no probs untill spybot stoped updating.I have been trying to restore but it wont let me saying i have to be an administrator .who is the admin?the guy who installed xp(a copy btw)?
no on your computer you have a guest account admin account like your USER NAME one of the account will have ADMINISTRATION priveledges go to CONTROL PANNEL then USER ACCOUNTS to see who is admin
it says i am admin. When i got to system restore its looking for the domain admin.
domain wtf hrmm
any ideas?
no idea
keep tryign to resotre it it should restore no problems if not ill have a lil look round see if i can get any info for u
No No No!! Do not load those fucking toolbar programs. they are just as bad if not worse than adware, Often just as hard to get rid of and in fact they are a form of ad/spyware and they send tracking data back to their sources so yahoo and google can hit you with popups that are tailored to your surfing habits. (marketing people are inherently evil)Quote:

The shareware versions are fine but if you want them to continuously monitor you have to buy the full versions of them.
The user profiles may have been affected or damaged by the spyware.Quote:

What if i bought an origonal copy of xp and installed it myself, when doing this does it automaticlly uninstall the copied version of xp thus uninstalling any spyware?
If you're going to go that route then you should do a backup or an image and then wipe the hdd and start from scratch. New partition and format. Then you can recover any docs, images, etc from the backup/image that you need since it is very unlikely those files would be corrupted by ad/spyware. I usually use Ghost for imaging but Nero is ok as well.Quote:

problem solved! bought xp installed it,wiped my pc and started again.
Thanks for your advice on this guys :)
plumber are you really a plumber?
another good one that is free is called "Hijack this"...it focuses on spyware/adware that fucks with your browser homepage. When i read 'BLANK'...this is what worked for me.
unfortunatly.Quote:
