question - my first hash experience in NEPAL

ok, guys. i'm new to this forum, mostly joined so i could get some insight on my first marijuana experience.* here's my story, sorry if it's a bit long:

* Two months ago, I, a 19-yr-old girl, was halfway around the world, literally, in the tiny country of Nepal. First off, Nepal is apparently marijuana paradise, with some of the best hash in the world ~ all the hippies wanted to go here in the 60's: it was known as the "Shangri-La" for a complete drug and spiritual experience. So, knowing this, and having wanted to try marijuana for awhile, I considered it vital to smoke Nepali, as it might be some of the best stuff on earth.

Now these two guys I'd been hanging with were experienced potheads, basically, and found this great well-kept secret of where in Nepal to get the best weed, so I joined them. We went deep in the Himalayan mountains, to this dealers place, a very nice guy w/a family who grows marijuana all around his house and is quite famous for its high quality. It was about 8pm ~ we ate dinner there, and then...

First off, this guy had prepared some "very special" marijuana tea for us. I have to say, it was amazing. Hands down the best drink I'd ever had. All it consisted of were marijuana leaves, sugar, and boiled water. Delicious. So good I couldn't resist eating the leaves...* didn't feel anything at first tho', so then I had quite a few hits. I really wanted a true high experience, and so after having a couple hits and feeling nothing immediately, I was frustrated and asked the man if he could make the joints a bit stronger. He laughed, said sure, and after quite a few hits of the stronger stuff, maybe 10 min. or so later, I started feeling it, and probably the marijuana tea kicked in as well.

Granted, I'd never smoked before, and I was having some of the most pure stuff on earth so I have nothing to compare it to, but this was INTENSE. While the two guys I were with were laughing, having a good time, and trying to make moves on me, I ignored them and was having this amazing philosophical experience, with colors and images from life all coming together.. it was beautiful, I wish I had written everything down, because I was completely in my own world and having a great time of it. I had all these revelations and epiphanies, and every artistic vision I'd ever had suddenly seemed clear.

But the guys were really getting to me at this point, as, especially one of them, was becoming more insistent on sleeping with me and such. And allthough my consciousness was 100% heightened by the marijuana, I didn't feel like I could verbally respond at all, I was so stoned and confused by it all. But what happened was, they kept insisting we sleep up there at the house, insteading of driving me back to my hotel to sleep. This freaked me out, as the guys were getting all weird on me and I could've sworn I was going to be raped or something. I didn't trust them at all, and what started as a great high experience turned into utter hell. They laid me down on a bed, and although I'm 99% sure that nothing happened sexually between us, I started internally freaking out thinking I was dying, literally dying, thinking I had overdosed, that maybe it wasn't really marijuana that I had and instead I was going to die by the hands of two guys who were trying to get laid. Verbally all I could say were little moans* of "whats happening... am I dying... I don't like this... when will this end... why am I shaking".. I was shaking so hard (one of the guys literally had to hold me to keep me steady), paranoid, and having tremors. It was hell. I then apparently fell asleep for about three hours, woke up early morning with a deadly dry mouth, just as high, drank three cups of tea, and the guys drove me back to my hotel, which was a scary moterbike ride if I ever had one. I slept some more, waking up occasionally with nightmares, and was still stoned that next day until 4pm.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THIS WAS NORMAL? Ha, it's almost funny now, but that night was both the best and worst of my life.

I know for a fact I had extremely strong marijuana, a lot of it, and combined with the marjiuana tea and eating the leaves, maybe I should've known I'd have an intense experience.

But why did it turn into a hellish nightmare? Why was a shaking so bad and afraid I was dying and going to be raped? Was it because I was already paranoid about the guys (looking back, they were always a little sketchy), and the weed just set it off? Is anxiety a common after-effect of an an initial good high? Or do you think the joints/tea were laced with something else? That scares me so much.

I'm mostly curious because despite everything, the absolute good high that I initially had, and that lasted for quite awhile, was SO AMAZING that I will definately be smoking in the future. But is it essential that one is with people they absolutely trust, or else they might have a panic attack like I did?

Also, having had so much the first time, do you think the next time I smoke, I'll need equally strong stuff? Because I smoked a joint the other day w/some friends, stuff that'd been grown in America, and I didn't even get slightly high after a few hits, while they did. It was my first time since Nepal. Am I immune, what's up?

wow i usually hate readin long shit but i read that it sounds krazy but srry i cant help with nuthin ima rookie myself but the only thing i can say it was laced cuz i smoke all the time and ima always feeling good and so r all my freinds except this one that was all parinoid and thought he was havin a heart attack so i guess it could just effect u in a diff way as fer the stuff u got later..i dont think u would get immune that fast prolly was shwag and that takes bout 2 or 3 full joint>>.....hope this helps

these are common side effects of weed for some people , the anxiety/paranoia shaking/trembling, shortness of breath, plus the friggin' fact you blazed the fuck out the first time. Dont worry it'll go away as you begin to smoke more and more, but hell i miss the trips i got when smoking the first couple of times. I remember when i began smoking i smoked out with these two rastafarians that lived in the boonies. I knew them from high school and they always would try and persuade me to smoke so i did. The only thing i didn't know is they had some dank-ass bud from Kona and we did bongloads w/ 2 fatty doobies,it was so intense, kool thing was i had the best first smoke experience , this guy's room we smoked in was a true tokers room, rasta memorabilia all over the place wierd ass lighting and bob marley tributes all over so when i was tripping i was like iron like a lion in zion. that turned me on so much to bud, i've been toking out everyday for the past 4 years, got through highschool and halfway through college blazed. Kool thing is i learned the in/outs of the bud business when i first started my friends were true stoners to begin with so i've never really touched schwag that much , i burnt a quarter of Kona Gold my first time out of 3 peeps, so yea keep on tokin

Sounds like someone bad tripped.

My Diagnosis is you simply had too much over too short a period of time, and to make it worse you hadn't used cannabis before.

As with any drug always start low!

sounds like a green night to me...usually happens when you take far too much for your own good. Which, according to your story, you did...put quite simply, I don't think anything happened that wasn't normal (tho I can't speak for the guys, you might want to find more trustworthy friends)...'going green' is an unpleasant experience for anybody, and its usually completely unexpected. Typically you get a really intense high for a while, then it goes downhill; shaking and twitching are common, but its not severe. probably cold sweats as well, 'the spin is rooming' moments, loss of balance...nausea, coughing, occassionally just passing out from exhaustion...generally a bad time.
Best thing you can do is 1) stop smoking! if you start to go green, get away from smoke and other such nasty things. Go outside, get some fresh air, and relax. 2) Cool yourself down...a cool shower is your best bet, should help to refresh your mind as well. 3) get yourself somewhere mellow...somewhere you won't have to move, and is very comfy...couch, or bed, something like that.

Always remember, don't do anything new for the first time without somebody you trust to keep an eye on you...never know where you'll end up.

ya i agree wit jonny...took a lil too much too quickly fer yer first time. there are hundredz of thousandz of millionz of different typez ov bud out there n they all give ya a different high...some creep n sum hit u rite away etc etc.
ive made the same mistake b4 tho n i too thot i wuz on sumthin else, next time juss take er e-z n smoke till yer comfortable.

Ha, Beejo, sounds like you set yourself up for that bad experience. You should've done some research first and you would've known that you were doing too much for a first timer. Next time don't jump into the deepend without taking swimming lessons. You should've gotten stoned a few times before you traveled so you would have had a general idea of what to expect from the experience. Plus a lot has changed from the hippies in the 60s going to Nepal. You "considered it vital to smoke Nepali, as it might be some of the best stuff on earth". Presently the best stuff on Earth can be found everywhere! Seasoned indoor growers worldwide, BC, Northern Cali, Europe, Hawaii, Austrailia, etc, all produce superior cannabis. And the best bubble hash in the world is now coming from fine cannabis cultivators worldwide! Quality grown cannabis worldwide is pure as hell! The man laughed when you asked for stronger stuff because he knew what you were getting yourself into. You are not immune now, but regular everyday cannabis smoking can cause you to build up a tolerance. Cutting back or switching strains can help. If you enjoyed it, do some research and you will not only learn a lot, but appreciate the smoking experience a lot more. :)

you guys' 'diagnosis' did help... did some research too. found out that:

Hmm, no wonder my experience was intense. Ah well. at least it didn't turn me off to the weed.... just makes me more cautious as to who i smoke with. i always am with alcohol but i guess it goes with weed, too.

by the way, do you guys know if hash is basically a stronger strain of marijuana, and if it is easily available or not?

Welcome back Beejo. Yeah when you injest cannabis your body is going to get all the THC out of it. Smoking it wastes about 50% of the THC through resins deposits, exhaled smoke, and second hand smoke. Hash isn't a different type of cannabis strain. What hash is is the compacted resin glands that are collected from buds. There are several methods to extract the tricomes(THC glands), but when they are extracted it looks almost like fine brown sugar. This is compacted into dark brown pieces of hash. It is just pure THC, as opposed to smoking bud which is plant matter covered with THC. It is very much a stronger, more potent smoke. You are not going to die or need medical assistance from having too much THC, it in the users head mostly when they panic and think they are dying.

Smoking marijuana also destroys a lot of the cannaboid compounds present. A lot have very low boiling and melting points and stuff and are destroyed by the heat of the fire when smoked. Eating wont raise the temp enough to destroy these, so you get all the cannaboids into your system in active form.

Oh good point! I didn't know this thanks. :) But that also explains why vapor hits and solarpuffing also produce a cleaner hit.

yep and if uve ever ate bud, ud kno that it givez ya a stronger body buzz which i like :D
