The 4th dimension

I was talkin about this with my friends yesterday when i was drunk

I think that the 4th dimension is music, isnt it? it combines the 3 dimensions, and it litterally bring you in another world. it makes u feel so much emotions. when u feel bad u just listen to music.

everybody listen to music. it always existed and will always exist. definitly music is my life, music is so much.

anybody thinks like me?

I sure agree, old tribes used music and dancing as religious rituals. Music is an escape out the real world, when your playing a gig or something its like becoming someone else.

Space Time and Matter? And Music? First off, music isn't as importent as any of those things. And Matter by definition isn't a dimension...

But music is still cool though. One of the best things... ever.

we only know of 4 demensions. according to the string theory of physics theres 8. so what would the rest be? i think one of them is Life. I think there is a measurable force of life that is demensionable. and im not trying to sound like obi one

According to string theory, there could be up to like 10 or something. And maybe even beyond that... Doesn't string theory suggest that anything is possible? Big step, science dudes.

and yeah, I think space should replace time as the fourth dimension as that is where spacial dimensions ya know... come into play. Time (As someone here mentioned in another thread) is an illusion, because time exists only because we can't experience everything at once. but then does space only exist because we can't be everywhere at once? I don't know... it's only a theory!

the string theory basicly presents that the core of everything we know is little vibrating strings. but theoreticly by somehow producing such vibratioins, many areas of physics could be controlled

I was searching google once and I got some really cool stuff just put in '4th dimension'.

search for a "tesseract" that is a 4 demensional cube.kinda cool.

Yes, I have a little understanding of string theory... though you have to know alot about physics and stuff to get it all. Do you know anything more about it, because I am very interested in learning.

i did alittle reading on string theory last year. its nucking futs. its hard as hell to comprehend but even harder to explain lol. i dont think i have a good enough understanding of it myself. it blows my mind though.,

edit: yeah, we learned how to make tesseracts in my CAD class. fun stuff

It does mine, as well. I was talking to my friend about it... and he was blown away too! If you could adapt to see or sense these vibrations, then in theory, you could see another place through your wall or through the bumps in your ceiling. It's beyond molecules, as these strings are supposedly even smaller then atoms. So small that they are not even zero dimension. (a dot in the fabric of space) Crazy shit. And if science is now suggesting that anything can be percieved differently by different people and that telepathy is actually plausible or that anything is possible or whatever, then damn... that just explains everything.

Almost. But I don't think you could go down a train track in the first dimension... as there is no forward. Without the "2nd" and "3rd" there is no depth of perception.

1: A line (Width... but "Width" can not exist without the others)
2: A square (Length... put that together with Width and you have depth perception. EDIT: Correction... No it doesn't.)
3: A cube (3D... there is a foward, a backward, a left & right and an up and down... plus inbetween or the dot in the middle... or rather the end... or is it the beginning? But the end and/or beginning is impossible to describe as we don't know where or what it is.
4: Time (Disputable)
5: Space (Disputable)
6: Matter (Appearntly, it's believed that this is a dimension)

length, width, depth, time

I am aware of that concept... but I find it to far fetched for me to comprehend so I stick with the MAIN ones. And not the ones I can have no grasp on.

Great topic. I stick firm to my belief that time applies to all things physical, and therefore could not be the fourth dimension. Music, though? Too specific. Sound is a good idea, however.

music is the dominant demension, order, sound is the combining demension, chaos.

give chaos harmonics, and you have musical order out of chaotic sound.

Why should an organized version of sound deserve its own dimension?

lets take it a step further and just add qua ntum electrodynamics into the mix!
