constant battle?
What do you think they're fighting over?
light Vs. dark is a battle of popularity.
they both want to be the one to illuminate the universe, by casting out the other.
Its a pointless battle. Light give dark and without dark light would be unexisiting. Its the ying and the yang.
exactly. instead of worrying about who to associate these combatants with, the real answer is this. and by "this" i mean what stoner wolf said.Quote:

of course, when you realise that there's no value to be had at one end of a polarity (spectrum) over the other, then it appears that what is truly most important is not the extreme ends, but rather the relationship between them.
the mexican people? i don't know, i like to think that we're so blinded to what is important that the answer would right in front of us. something we see everyday.Quote:

What, did Ganj and I lose you SSW? What's not to follow about this conversation?
It's cool, I think I just lost him earlier. Or at the least, he completely lost me with that last post.
lol, nah it was just a remark to what you had said earlier, about the importance being the relationship between white and black. i felt mexican would be appropriate. i'm not lost. lolQuote:

Actually then, I don't understand how SSW let you get away with that answer. We were talking about darkness and light, and you jumped to making race a polarity between black and white, and all other ethnic groups are just lumped in between?Quote:

But of course, again, the most important thing would just be to realise what we all have in common, rather than focus on the poles...
hahahahaha he didnt do bad really, white... black... tan in the middle, mexicans are pretty tan... lol im thinking it was intende dtobe a joke...
lame but still a joke lol
I fail to see anything funny about racism... ... ...

(you may think I'm being sarcastic after the long dramatic pause. I assure you I am not. Which is why I've confirmed my moral outrage by attaching the appropriate smilies. That's right...)
You can create an interesting blend of lights and darks to create shadows and bring out your painting. :stoned:

Wait a second, you're an artist, Torog? I never would've guessed. The white and black, aw, who am I kidding, I'm no painter. Living in a world where white and black are shocking is very narrow minded. That reminds me of the old white lady who answered the door for the black Interior Decorator. :stoned:Quote:

Or I can choose to just live in a world of color...Quote:

I like the Black & White scenes better in "Field of Dreams".
nothing like that and, i apologize if i've offended you in anyway. it was a lame joke...i specialize in those.Quote:

Who or what-is the Other ?
Sometimes..it's good to fear the Truth and Reality..especially if that 'Truth and Reality',is formulated by us imperfect humans..who only have 5 senses to percieve Reality..it's been said "the Truth shall set you free"..as for Reality..it's created anew, with each and every moment.
By all means,FLESH,please inform me of what you percieve to be the Truth..and the Reality that you speak of..help me to see the world through yer eyes..make me a believer of this Truth and Reality, that you speak of.
Have a good one ....
Torog, I'm just happy to see that some people here know how to debate without resorting to personal attacks... :thumbsup:Quote:

I think the core of the problem lies in the fact that you view humans as imperfect, and that we're sinners from the start. Why does that have to be? Why have I done personally that makes me forever a sinner, imperfect? To an extent, yes, Truth and Reality are based on our 5 senses, because in the end that's all we have to interact with our Universe.
As far as what Truth and Reality really are, well, philosophers have been trying to figure this one for almost 3,000 years, and I don't feel qualified to answer that for you :) But what I can say is that to me, believing in any sort of religion that has a deity, rules that go against human nature, and creeds that say that humans are automatically sinners and naturally imperfect, is not only wrong, it's detrimental to world-wide society.
i know what truth and reality is, and the two cannot be proven, as they are not physical entities within themselves.
