Advice-this time I'm serious

Well, I was talking to this girl I'm a friend of the other day and she said that some guy IM'ed her and told her that he was gonna rape her and he said he knew where she lived and gave her the address to her house to prove it.
That pissed me off to the max so I decided I'd have a talk with him.
Turns out he lives in Maine and he's coming down here on Christmas break.
It also turns out that he's a friend of a friend of hers.
So, after him pissing me off enough, I decided that when he comes down here, I'm gonna get my crew together and kick his ass.
Anyone think this is a good decision?
I usually never resort to violence but this situation is just too dangerous for me to ignore.
You know, I care for the girl and if this guy thinks is he can fuck with someone that I care for that much, then I don't think he knows who he's fuckin with.
I know this guy was serious, too, because I read the convo she had with him.
Anyone think I'm making the right decision?

If I was that guy, I would think raping here isn't worth it, because that guy now knows that if he rapes her, there are people who won't let him get away with it,...

YEah and violence solves a lot of things, but being insecure doesn't solve anything. Maybe the girl likes him and maybe they were just joking around about raping each other or whatever... Dude, by sending that message this guy has already committed a felony. (making terroristic threats and all that post 9/11 stuff) Not to be a narc but this is rape, not weed. This chick should call the cops like now. If you guys beat him senseless or kill him...who do you think will end up being bubba's plaything in prison.

anyway this is what you do.

you said that you read the conversation so that must mean that she was smart enough to keep it (very good)

I assume that this is a kid (under 18)

Get his phone number, if he was a friend of hers she sould have no problem finding it.

Then you have a few options:

1. Than what she needs to do is called his parents and tell them what happened tell them that she would be glad to e-mail the converation to them...tell them that if they do not take care of the situation than you will involve the police....(trust me they will freak the fuck out)....even better would be to have her parents call his parents...if she doesn't want to get HER parents involved thats fine but it would work better this way....it doesn't even matter if they believe her or not.....parents understand the seriousness of such a claim true or not.....and he will be lucky to see the light of day again....they will watch him like a fucking hawk.

2. Call the police (not where you live but where HE lives) tell them your story and ask them to just go have a conversation with his parents.....if they start to give you the blow off mention that your next phone call is to THEIR (not yours) local paper and mention the local paper by name don't just say your local paper. Again this type of call would be better handled by her parents but whatever.....if the police say that they will talk to his parents..make sure you call back and follow up...(when you call them first time make sure you get the name of the officer you talked to)

Don't do the ass kicken thing unless he actually shows up...which if you do option 1-2 correctly that won't happen.....his parents will go out of their minds.

I agree with bonsai. Hand the matter over to the cops and let them grab his ass at the border. I would be severely angered but smashing the guy will do nothing but bring you satisfaction. And it will create more problems than it will sove.
Its a serious issue and ppl like that need to be exposed to the authorities and put somewhere they wont be able to get at anyone.
